IA further obiectis to provideamotorfand pump for the filter carried'out ofthe'way on the underside of the filter'sup'port. I f Still another'objectis to provide aconvenie'nt and attractive filter and support that is adapted to be easily moved where needed, kept neat and clean after servicing the filter, carry the pump for circulating the fluid to be filtered, yet capable of being washed with a hose without damage to the motor and without the expense of having a water-tight casing for the motor, and also adapted to be quickly moved to an out-of-theway position when not in use.
Fig. 1 of the drawing shows the preferred embodiment of this invention in perspective.
Figs. 2 and 3 are longitudinal and transverse sectional views of the apparatus.
A filter and its casing ID are mounted above a table top H on legs of'non-corrosive material. The filter is of the type described and claimed 1n 300,918, now Patent No. 2,313, 612, filed October 24, 1939.
A motor 13 and a pump it on the'motorshaft are'mounted on the underside of the table top I l, flanges l5 being bent down to provide protection for the motor against a hose being played on the table top without danger of any substantial amount of wash water getting into the motor and without the necessity and expense of the motor being sealed against moisture. In other words an ordinary electric motor is found useful for this purpose. All exposed metal parts are preferably of some alloy which is non-corrosive to whatever liquid is being filtered so that parts of the filter may be supported on the table top I l or the lower shelf without danger of any residual liquid on the filter parts being in danger of attacking or corro-ding the exposed metal parts such as the table top down-turned flanges [5 or the lower shelf 2| or the supporting columns 28 for the table top or the columns I2 for the filter.
Preferably a strengthening bead I6 is formed in the side flanges though not in the end flanges which are shorter and which are bent to overlap the ends of the side flanges, though of course if desired such strengthening bead may be pres of this inventionlis to provide. a simple and inexpensive yet rugged; device of i r or ent on the endasp n-as onthe' side flanges. course; if desi re'df this bead l6 may 2 be omfitted or some otherftypeof strengtheningmeansused my copending application Serial Number g 1 Afterpassing throughthefilt'er nected to'the" muster ems-resumes liquidwto be filtered? through one or the'isubporting f le inset of then er'j t he' ab gheusw ror nected to the platform or shelf at. each end. Not
only are tools and parts of the filter capableof being placed on the table top' but also some may be carried on the shelf 2| during the repair or servicing of the filter. non-corrosive metal or molded plastic material whatever liquid is being filtered:
The device illustrated need not be necessarily mounted on such rollers but it is found they arev convenient in moving thefilter and its support to an out-of-the-way position when not in use. Numerous uses have been found for a filter mounted in the manner described, one such use being in connection with plating baths.
The top of the filter 23 screwing the nut with the extensionportions 724. The filter inlet or supply pipe I! may be of rubber or flexible hose as isthat connected to the outlet l9.
The rollers 22 may be of of suitable non-metallic After the wet filter parts have been replaced or serviced and the further use; the table 2| are easily kept clean and neat by washing them down with an ordinary jet of water from a hose or otherwise washing. them oiT.
Beneath the table top I I is a chassis frame supporting the sheet of it is to this frame that themotor and pump are secured. Preferably the flanges l5 extend down far enough so that therewill be no danger of the motor being damaged by water thrown onto or washed olT the table top I I. The necessary wires for the motor and its connecting receptacle arelocated on the inner side of the flanges so as not to be injured by freely washing the shelf and table. top. The flexible connections on the inlet and filter assembled again for outlet side of the filter may be attached in the that isnot affected by is removable upon untop H and the lower shelf non-corrosive metal and maybe quickly attached and detached in other ways well known in the art.
' ing filtered secured to the underside of said table top, a platform. below the table top and above which said motor and pump are spaced, supporting columnsbetween constituting protective flanges of depth sufiicient to shield the vital parts of the motor and pump,
the motor and pump being confined within the outer limits of the table and platform and'aconsaid platform and table top,' the sides of said table top being bent down and,
- table top, a pump for moving duit having a passage extending from the pump. through the table top for the flow of liquid to be filtered.
2. A device of the kind described comprisingla '2'0 table having a top of non-corrosive material, a
filter and its casing carried b'y, said gtablev but spaced above the top thereof, amotor and pump for thefluid beingfiltered secured t othe under;

chassis frame of the from the pump upwardly through the table top,
3. Portable means for filtering apparatus comprising a portable platform, a table top supported on said platform for supporting a filter in elevated and exposed position above the upper surface of the table top, a motor mounted on the under surface of the table top, apump mounted on theunder surface of the table top and operatively connected to the motor for moving liquid through said filter, and flanges extending downwardly. from the table top forsubstantially housingthe-upper part of said motor andpu 4. A filter support comprising a frame having a liquid through the filter and a motor for driving the pump, the pump and motor being carried by the frame beneath the tabletop a conduit having a passage extending from the pump through the table top to conduct liquid to, a filterv above the top vand a protective skirtdepending from the edges of the table top andguarding the motor and the pump from water thatmay be spilled on the table top.
