My invention relates to safety blade magazine holders and refers particularly to safety blade magazine holders adapted for the removable reception of safety razor blade'magazines carryin a plurality of stacked safety razor blades and adapted to remove a safety razor blade deposited upon a safety razor head element.

Safety razors have been so constructed that a safety razor blade magazine holder, carrying a removable safety blade magazine containing a plurality of stacked safety razor blades, may be inserted between a safety razor blade deposited upon a safety razor head element and the "head element, the movement of said magazine holder and its blade magazine removing said deposited blade from its said position and depositing an unused blade upon said razor head, the withdrawal of said magazine holder and its blade magazine from contact with said razor head withdrawing said formerly deposited blade from contact with said razor head.

My invention relates to safety blade magazine holders adapted to accomplish the removal. of a deposited blade from a safety razor head by cooperation with safety razor blade magazines having means for the withdrawal of a said deposited blade from the razor head upon which In the removal of such deposited blades, it is essential that the removing means have some element whereby the blade will become removably attached to the removing device while the blade is still within, or upon, the 'razor head, such attachment being of a character" whereby the withdrawal of'the withdrawing means from the razor head will carry the blade with it. The attaching means between the blade and the removing device may be a part of the magazine holder or a part of the blade magazine 'carried by the magazine holder, and my invention is directed to magazine holders in which such attaching means are carried by the blade magazine. The construction, operation and advantages of the razor magazine holder of my invention will be evident upon a consideration of my specification and the accompanying drawings, in which similar parts are designated by similar numerals.

The form of a device of my invention shown particularlyin Figures 1, 2, and 3 is adapted for the Gem type of razor and comprises a top member formed of the two members 2|] and 20' havin a connecting bridge 2|, thus forming the recess 22 in this top member. ' -to co-operate with razor heads to withdraw a previously deposited blade and'to deposit an unused blade and position it thereon for shaving pu po e In order to withdraw a used blade it is necessary that some means be employed whereby the used blade may be removably attached to the magazine holder, or to the blade magazine, while the devices are in contact with the razor head and that the attaching means be of such construction as to withdraw the used blade from the razor head.

My invention is directed to blade magazine holders, in which such withdrawing means are a part of the blade magazine, as will be clearly shown upon a consideration of the description of my devices.

In order to show the novelty and usefulness of the blade magazine holders of my invention, I

illustrate modified forms of blade magazines adaptable for use therewith.

It is evident that a blade magazine without extended blade engaging members such as 50, I0 5 cannot be employed to withdraw a blade from a razor head and that a magazine holder cannot I be employed with a blade magazine having such blade engaging members unless it has rear recesses such as3l,3l'.'

The device of my invention shown in Figures 10 to 18, inclusive, is adapted for use with the Gillette type of razor and is similar tothat previously shown and described, similar parts being designated by similar numerals.

This form of my device, however, varies slightly from that described in order to adapt it to the particular construction of the Gillette type of razor and blades, but such variations do not afiect the co-ordination between the magazine holder and a blade magazine, nor do they affect the operation of these two assembled elements for a withdrawal blade engaging members such as '50, 50, and that a magazine holder cannot be employed with a blade magazine having such blade engaging members unless it has rear recesses such as 3!, 3|. a

To operate the thus combined magazine holder and blade magazine, the two outward extended arms 52 52' of the blade guiding members 24 and 24' respectively are introduced between the guard of a razor head and a blade positioned thereon, 5 and moved inwardly, during which movement the V positioned blade is removed from lugs positioning it on the guard and moves upwardly over the upper face of the members 24 and 24' and then across the upper faces 20 and 20' of the magazine holder, this movement continuing until the blade engaging members 50, become inserted through openings in blade. When the blade is in this po zinc is withdrawn from contact with the razor blade from the razor.

The device oi rny invention shown in Figures 10 to 18, inclusive, is adapted for use with the Gillette type of razor and is similar to that pre- 5 viously shown and described, similar parts being designated by similar numerals.

This form of my device, however, varies slightly from that described in order to adapt it to the particular construction of the Gillette type of razor and blades, but such variations do not affect the sci-ordination between the magazine holder and a blade magazine, no do they affect the operation of these two assembled elements for a withdrawal of a positioned blade from a razor head, and, hence, a detailed description is not necessary for a clear understanding oftheir construction and application.

As the means for withdrawing the bottom blade from the stacked blades within the blade magazine and positioning it upon the razor guard is not a part of this application, the details thereof are not herein described.

It will thus be seen that the device of my invention is a blade magazine holder adapted to removably receive a blade magazine carry extended blade removing means, whereby the insertion of, and withdrawal from, a razor head having a blade deposited thereon, will withdra said blade from said razor head. 3

By blade magazine I mean a magazine containing a plurality of stacked razor blades, so constructed as to allow of the ejection of a single blade at one time.

By operative position" and similar words, I mean that the blade magazine is so positioned within the magazine holder as to allow of the ejection of a single blade therefrom by the ejection means employed with the magazine holder.

I do not limit myself to the particular size,

shape, number, or arrangement of parts as shown and described, as these are given solely for the purpose of clearly describing my invention.

What I claim is:

1. A razor blade magazine holder adapted to receive a razor blade magazine comprising a top member having at least one inwardly extended recess from its rear end, the forward portion of ed recess from its rear end, the forward portion of said top being inclined downwardly; two side members extending above said top member, and a bottom member.

A razor blade magazine holder adapted to receive a razor blade magazine comprising a top member having an inwardly extended recess from its forward end and at least one inwardly extended recess from its rear end, the forward portion of said top being inclined downwardly; two side members extending above said top memher, the lower portions of said side members forming two runways, and abottom member.

5. A razor blade magazine holder adapted to receive a razor blade magazine comprising a top member having at least one inwardly extended recess from its rear end, the forward portion of said top being, inclined downwardly; two side members extending above said top member; and a bottom member.

6. A razor blade magazine holder adapted to receive a razor blade magazine comprising a top,
