This invention relates to washing'apparatusand more particularly to such apparatus as is employed for washing dishes, clothes, etc.
One of the objects of my invention is to pro vide ,a combination sink and tub, with agitating mechanism in the tub for agitating Washing fluid in an improved manner, and to arrangethe agitating mechanism so as to provide forthe drainage from the sink through the tub.
Another object of my invention is to provide a washing apparatusior dishes, clothes and the' like, by forcing the washing fluid laterally from the central p rtion of the tub toward its peripheral edge and vertically upward toward the upper part of the tub and then laterally over the objects to be washed. l
Another object of my invention is, to provide a washing apparatus wherein the washing fluid is moved in two distinct paths by independent agitating devices.
' Another object of my invention is to provide an improved washing device wherein two agiv tating elements are utilized for creating two distinct movements of the washingfluids and to operate the two elements at different speeds to obtain the desired movement of the fluid.
Further objects and advantages of the present invention will she-apparent from the following description, reference'being had to the accompanying drawings, wherein a preferred form of the present invention is clearly shown. a

The sprocket wheel 9| is actuated by an electric motor 94 by means oipulleys 99 and I99, belt I92, small sprocket -wheel-- I94. and chain I99.
' The pulley wheel 12 is also-actuated by the elec- 9.- The drain connection 99 A hearing member I49 is secured to connection I49. This bearing engages a return bend portion I99 formed on the upper portion or pipe I49 so as to prevent any possibleupward movement of the agitating mechanism.
In Figs. 8 and 9 I have shown a modified form of construction which may be used in connection with the agitating mechanism shown in Fig. 3 to keep the agitator 99 from moving upwardly in the tub; As shown, a funnel I69 may be used. This funnel corresponds to funnel 92 but has on its lower extremity laterally extending flng'ers I61. These fingers are adapted to slide on the upper part of tubular member I69 which tric motor 94 by means of pulley H9 and beltreduction. At this time the motor 94 is operating pulley II9, belt and pulley wheel 12 to rotate the pump 44. Since the speed reduction through these pulleys is not as great as the speed reduction of sprocket wheel 9|, thepump rotates at a much greater speed than the tubular member 96. During such operation of asfollows. when I corresponds to tubular member 99. In this instance, however, the funnel surrounds tubular member I19 which corresponds to tubular member 99. In Figs. 6 and '7, I have disclosed a tub I29 and sink I24, which correspond to tub 29 and sink '24, respectively. In this embodiment of my invention, a pump I99 is rigidly connected to a vaned agitator I92 and is arranged to rotate therewith and at .thesame speed. The pump I99 includes a hollow tubular member I94 which serves as a drain pipe from the sink through the tub. A bearing I99 is secured to tubular member I94 and rests on the bottom. oi. tub I29 to seal the tub against leakage. A drain connection I49 is screw threaded to the member prevent upward movement of tubular member I99 in the event it should tend to move upwardly. Since the tubular members I16 and I99 correspond to members 99 and 96, respectively, the funnel I99 may be substituted for tunnel 92 to prevent any upward movement of the tubular member 96.
From the foregoing, it will be readily apparent that I have provided two distinct water movements, and in addition 1 have provided for different speeds of the agitating mechanism. Also, I have arranged the agitating mechanism for conducting the drainage from the sink through the tub.
Although only a preferred form of the invention has been illustrated, and that form described in detail, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications may .be made therein without departing from the spirit The reduced portion 94 rotatesin opening 99 in plate 99. I claim:
1. Washing apparatus comprising a container, movable agitating mechanism in said container for moving washing fluid from the central portion of the container toward the periphery thereor, movable pumping means for moving washing fluid upwardly at the central portion of the container, means for causing said fluid to be moved laterally toward the periphery of the containe'r as it is discharged by said pumping means and means 101' moving said agitating and pumping means at different rotational speeds.
