rear lower edges of the ice box to retain same low front wall 5| prevents the cartridges from 55 sliding out of the compartment 50. Extending laterally from the vertical partitions 44 are horizontal shelves 52, vertically spaced from each other, having openings therein adapted to receive and hold glasses 53, and the lower shelves are provided with small openings therein adapted to receive the handles of stirring spoons 54, the depending ends of the handles of said spoons 54 resting on the bottom [9 of the case section.
The case is provided with latches 55 and a lock 56 for securing and locking, same when closed. When said case is closed it comprises a compact receptacle which may be easily carried about, placed in an automobile trunk or the like, or stored away. It should be noted that when the case is in the closed position the horizontal shelves of one section are adapted to abut against the bottles of the other side to prevent them becoming displaced and broken.
In use the case is opened and placed on a suitable support in the position shown in Figure 5 wherein the lower outside edge 51 of each section or side rests on said support. A strap 58 limits the opening of the case so that the two sections or sides are at substantially a ninety degree (90) angle with respect to each other and each side or section is at substantially a forty five degree (45) angle with respect to the support on which the case rests.
The ice box 46 is adapted to be raised to the vertical position shown in Figures 5 and 6 and the lower edges thereof are longitudinally received in grooves 59 and 60 in the bottom l9 and side II respectively, said grooves being so positioned as to removably secure the ice box in a vertical position. The cover 4! of the box 46 may then be taken off for removal of ice cubes from said box 46.
All the ingredients for mixing various drinks are contained in the case as well as other accessories for parties and the like.
It is thought that the invention and many of its attendant advantages will be readily understood from the foregoing description and it will be apparent that various changes may be made in the form, construction, and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention or sacrificing all of its material advantages, the form hereinbefore described being merely a preferred embodiment thereof.
Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire-to secure by Letters Patent is:
A portable bar comprising a two sectioned case hinged together, said sections being of substantially equal depth and each having an open side, said open sides facing each other, means adapted to limit the opening of the case so that said case may be placed on a suitable flat horizontal surface with the outer lower side edges of each section resting on said surface when the case is open, said case having an ice-box compartment in one section thereof, and an icebox removably received in said compartment, the bottom and side of said ice-box compartment having parallel grooves therein adapted to receive the front and rear lower edges of the ice-box for supporting same in an upright position when the case is opened and in position for use.
