The present `invention relates to rotary A`holders, and more particularlyto rotary holderswhich are adapted ffor attachment ltoshelves fto Amake more readily available `packages ori-other materials stored upon such shelves.

One of theobjects of; the present invention is to provide a superior rotarypackage'holder'which may `be readily vand conveniently mounted lupon any one of a pluralityuifshlves "of different depth or width.

Another object ofithe l'presentinvention 'is to provide a superior rotary `package"holderfconstructed and adaptedfforibeingmounted'at different positions upon shelves.

A further objectof the present invention is to provide a superior rotai'ypackage rholder ofthe character referred to, :and v'whicl'ilmay be produced at a low .costfor manufactureand'afford a maximum degree oflservice toa-user.

With the above and other objects 'in view, as will appear `to thosefskilled. in the art from the present disclosure, this invention includes al1 features in the said disclosure which are novel over the prior art and which are not claimed in any separate application,

The particular package holder herein chosen for the purpose of illustrating the present invention includes three main elements, namely, a mounting-member 20, a. carrier-member 2| and a package-tray 22 each of which is movable with respect to each of the other two members in a manner as will hereinafter appear.

The mounting-member may be conveniently formed of sheet metal and includes a plate-like body-portion 23 adapted to rest upon the upper surface of 4a shelf such as the shelf 24 shown in the drawing` Formed integral with and depending fromthe front of the plate-like body-portion 23 of the mounting-member 2|] is a limitingflange 25 designed and adapted to engage with 5 the front edge of the shelf 24 and suitably perforated adjacent each of its respective opposite ends to receive nails 26--26 extending horizontally into the shelf 24. At each of its respective opposite sideedges the body-portion 23 of the mounting- 10 member 20 is formed with one of two upwardlyand-in-wardly-bent guide-liangcs 21--2| The carrier-member 2| before referred to may be conveniently formed of sheet metal and has its respective opposite side edges upwardiy-and- 15 inwardly turned as at 23--28 to provide reinforced side edges.

Preferably, and as shown, the carrier-member 2| is 4.struck-up to form a centrally-perforated boss29 providing an annulardownwardly-open- 20 ing recess 29a which receives a washer 3U and the burred-over head 3| of `a rivet 32 serving to pivotally attach the rotary package-tray 22 in a manner as will more fully hereinafter appear.

Adjacent each of its rear corners the carrier- 25 member 2| is perforated to receive one of two nails 33-33 or other suitable fasteners extending downwardly into the shelf 24. Arranged symmetrically around the boss 29 in the carrier-member 2| are three (more or less) roller-brackets 30 34 of substantially U-shaped form in cross section and secured to the upper surface of the carrier-member 2| by spot welding or by any other suitable means. Mounted between the upstanding arms of each of the roller-brackets 34 is a roll- 35 er 35 turning upon a horizontal pivot-pin 33. Each pivot-pin 3B is supported at its respective opposite ends in the upstanding arms of its complemental roller-bracket 34 and is suitably riveted in place. It will be noted by reference to the v10 drawing that each of the pivot-pins 38 is arranged radially with respect to the center of the boss 29 in the carrier-member 2|.

The rivet 32i before referred to extends upwardly from 'the recess 29a in the carrier-member 45 2| through a spacing-sleeve 31 and thence through the apertured bottom of a boss 38 downwardly struck from the center of the rotary package-tray 22 before referred to and providing an upwardly-opening recess 38a. The upper head 50 39 of the rivet 32 is accommodated in the recess 38a just referred to so as to lie wholly below the upper surface of the package-tray 22. Preferably, and as shown, the package-tray 22 is formed with an annular rim 40 at its outer edge to guard 55 against the accidental displacement of paclkages such, for instance, as the packages indicated by broken lines in Fig. 2.

In installing the package holder the mountingmember 20 will preferably be rst attached to the shelf such as 24 by means of the nails 26-26. After the mounting-member has been attached as just described the carrier-member 2l may be inserted upon the upper surface of the body-portion 23 of the mounting-member and between the guide-anges 21-21 thereof. The carrier-member 2| together with the package-tray 22 will preferably be slid rearwardly as far as the depth of the shelf 24 will permit after which the nails 33-33 may be put in place to not only lock the said carrier-member 2| against back and forth movement with respect to the mounting-member 20 but also to prevent the entire device from swinging vertically about the forward upper corner of the shelf 24 as a fulcrum.

In Figs. 1 and 3 the carrier-member 2| together with the package-tray 22 is shown by full lines in one position which the said parts may occupy for a given depth of shelf. In the same figures, namely, Figs. 1 and 3, the carrier-member 2l and the package-tray 22 carried thereby are shown by broken lines as shifted to conform to both a deeper and a narrower shelf than the shelf 24.

If desired, the nails 33-33 or their equivalent may be omitted and the carrier-member 2| together with the package-tray 22 carried thereby may be left free for sliding movement back and forth with respect to the front edge of the shelf. If the nails 33-33 are omitted as just referred to, a nail or other suitable fastener may be passed through a perforation 4I in the rear edge of the mounting-member 20 and into the shelf. The user may, as will be obvious, readily rotate the package-tray 22' to bring to the front for ready access such packages as may at the time be at the rear portion of the package-tray 22.

By means of the present invention the capacity of a. pantry shelf or the like may be greatly increased and still make readily available the entire contents of the shelf Without requiring that the user reach over packages at the front thereof. In this manner, in connection with high pantry shelves or the like, the hazard of requiring the user to mount a stepladder in order to locate and reach hidden packages, is avoided.

The invention may be carried out in other specic ways than those herein set forth without departing from the spirit and essential characteristics of the invention, and the present embodiments are, therefore, to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, and. all changes coming within the meaning and equivalency range of the appended claim are intended to be embraced therein.

I claim:

A device of the class described comprising: a mounting-member having a plate-like body-portion provided at each of its respective opposite side edges with one of two opposed upwardly-andinwardly turned gude-ilanges, the said mounting-member also including a limiting-flange extending downwardly from the front edge of the plate-like body-portion4 into position to engage with the front edge of a shelf upon which the said body-portion rests; a plate-like carriermember slidable upon the said plate-like mounting-member and having its respective opposite side edges slidably engaged with the guide-danges of the said mounting-member; an annular series of rollers mounted upon the upper surface of the body-portion of the said carrier-member; and a rotary package holder pivoted to the bodyportion of the said carrier-member at a point substantially central with respect to the center of the said annular series of rollers and resting upon the latter.
