The function and purpose of the shield of Figures 3 and 4 are identical with that of the shield of Figures 1 and 2 and since the latter have been fully described it is not essential to repeat this description for these figures.
Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The combination with a high tension line conductor, of a clamp therefor, means for connecting said clamp to one of the series of connected insulators, and a corona shield connected to said clamp, said shield being positioned substantially in a vertical plane passed through the longitudinal axis of said clamp, opposite portions of said shield lying on opposite sides of said con ductor.
2. The combination with a high tension line conductor, of a clamp therefor, means for connecting said clamp to one of a series of connected high tension insulators, and a corona shield comprising a loop member of substantially uniform cross-section, the free ends of said loop being positioned on opposite sides of said clamp and connected thereto, opposite portions of said loop lying on opposite sides of said conductor, the vertical plane passing through said loop being substantially parallel to the vertical plane passing through the longitudinal axis of said clamp.
