My invention relates generally to improvements in urinal pouches adapted to be worn during disability of the bladder and sex organs, such as exist during convalescence from a surgical operation on these parts, and an important object of the invention is to provide a urinal pouch which can be conveniently and comfortably worn in daily pursuits and also in sitting and reclining positions.

Another important object of my invention is to provide a pouch of the character indicated which is made of readily available material which will enable the construction and sale thereof at a relatively low price notwithstanding high grade construction.

Another important object of my invention is to provide an arrangement of the character indicated in which, by the omission of tubes, valves, unions, and other appurtenances, which ordinarily produce clogging, become air bound, or fail to function because of twisting or compression of the parts, there results an arrangement which continues to function efliciently under all conditions.

Another important object of my invention is to provide an arrangement of the character indicated which, because of its extreme lightness and formation and arrangement of parts, being soft, pliant and readily conformable to the body and the wearing apparel, produces a minimum of inconvenience to the wearer and affords complete freedom of action and position, thereby creating a sense of security in the wearer.

Another important object of the invention is to provide an arrangement of the character indicated which because of its capability of being turned inside out and cleaned like cloth or other similar material, can be easily maintained at a high standard of sanitation, and can be worn continuously without fear of producing offensive odors.

Another important object of my invention is to provide in an arrangement of the character indicated above, an absorbent element in the urine sack which through absorbing the urine deposited therein prevents sloshing due to the movement of the liquid, and prevents the discomfort usually associated therewith.

Other important objects of my invention will be apparent from a reading of the following description taken in connection with the drawings, wherein for purposes of illustration I have shown a preferred embodiment of my invention.

Referring in detail to they drawings, the numeral 5 generally designates the pouch which is composed of an outer urine sack 6 which is preferably composed of light weight flexible rubber such as that which is used in the construction of rubber aprons and the like, the sack 6 being flat 1; and polygonal in shape having the generally horizontal bottom I, the upwardly converging front and

8, 9, respectively, and the rearwardly declining top H]. A seam or vulcanizing bead ll extends around the edges as reinforcement. Within the sack 6 is a removable quantity of absorbent material l2 of suitable character to absorb the urine in the sack 6, the absorbent material being readily removable-for cleansing and replacing purposes. 3

Depending within the upper part of the sack 6 is the scrotum sack l3 which is generally semicircular in side elevation and is flat and made of suitable material such as the light weight rubber material referred to herein. The open upper edges M of the sack l3 are attached by any suitable means to the open upper edges ll! of the sack 6 around the rear portion thereof from the point- I5 to the point [6, but unconnected at all other points on the front part of the two sacks. On the front terminal of the side edges of the sack l3 are vertically extending tabs I1, [8, for a purpose to be described, and which are spaced on opposite sides of a vertical slot l9.

Attached at the point 20 are the hip straps 2| and 22 which may conveniently be of elastic material.

At the point 23 on-the front of the sack 6 is attached the shield 24 which has on the lower part thereof the opposed

25 and 26 and on the upper part thereof securing means generally designated 21 for thewai'st strap 28 and at the opposite side of the shield 24 the buckle 29 for attaching the free end 30 of the waist strap. An additional buckle 3| disposed between the

21 and 28 on the shield is provided on the shield to fasten the tabs l1 and i8 onthe sack I3.

The device is worn by inserting the scrotum in the sack I3 and then by means of the tabs ll and I8 drawing the sack up into position so that, v

the penis is suitably placed through the opening I!) in the front of the sack l3 and depends into the front part of the sack 6, the waist strap 28 having been brought around the waist of the wearer and connected to the buckle 29. When the scrotum sack l3 has been properly drawn up into place the tabs [1 and I8 are-passed through the buckle 3| and secured so as to hold the sack 13 in place and give adequate support to the no I scrotum. The hip straps 2| and 22 are then drawn up in place and fastened with their

25 and 26 so that the device assumes the installed relation to the body of the wearer illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings.

It will be observed that on account of the inclination of the upper edge of the urine sack 6, the device will not spill over even when the wearer is in a reclining position and further that this type of urine sack permits relatively large accumulation therein, so that the wearer has more leeway which is a great convenience especially when the wearer does nothave at hand the facilities for servicing the article, It is further to be observed that the arrangement of the invention positively isolates the scrotum from the fluid in the urine sack, with consequent greater comfort and sanitation, because the sensitive scrotum is not subjected to the liquid in the sack 6.

Although I have shown and described herein a preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be definitely understood that I do not desire to limit the application of the invention thereto, and any change or changes may be made in the materials and in the structure and arrangement of the parts, within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the subjoined claims. I

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

1. In a device of the character described, an outer urine sack, a filling of absorbent material therein, a scrotum sack inserted in the upper part of the urine sack, said sacks being connected along portions of their upper edges so as to enable turning the sacks inside out, said scrotum sack being effective to isolate the scrotum of the wearer from the urine in the urine sack, the forepart of the scrotum sack being formed with a narrow vertical opening to accommodate the penis of the wearer, and vertically extending tabs on opposite sides of the opening enabling drawing the scrotum sack up into place.

2. -In a device of the character described, an outer urine sack, a filling of absorbent material therein, a scrotum sack inserted in the upper part of the urine sack, said sacks being connected along portions of their upper edges so asto enable turning the sacks inside out, said scrotum sack being effective to isolate the scrotum of the wearer from the urine in the urine sack, the

forepart of the scrotum sack being formed with a narrow vertical opening to accommodate the penis of the wearer, and vertically extending tabs on opposite sides of the opening enabling drawing the scrotum sack upinto place, and fastening means on the forepart of the urine sack for tethering the tabs to hold the scrotum sack in adjusted position.

3. A urinal pouch of the character described, said pouch comprising an outer urine sack open at its top, a scrotum sack inserted to depend within said urine sack, said sacks having major rear and side portions of the upper edges thereof arranged in side by side relation, means securing said major portions of the edges together, said scrotum sack being formed in the upper part of its front end with an opening to pass the penis of the wearer into the front part of said urine sack.

4. A urinal pouch of the character described, said pouch comprising an outer urine sack open at its top, a scrotum sack inserted to depend Within said urine sack, said sacks having major rear and side portions of the upper edges thereof arranged in side by side relation, means securing said major portions of the edges together, said scrotum sack being formed in the upper part of its front end with an opening to pass the penis of the wearer into the front part of said urine sack, said scrotum sack being of impervious mathe sack, with other side portions of the edges and,

the front portions of these edges unconnected, the forepart of said scrotum sack being rearwardly spaced from the front wall of said urine sack, the upper part of said forepart of said scrotum sack being formed with a vertical slot passing the penis of the wearer into the space between the forepart of the scrotum sack and the front wall of the urine sack.

6. A urinal pouch of the character described, said pouch comprising an outer urine sack open only at its top, a scrotum sack depending within the upper part of said urine sack with its upper edge substantially aligned with and coextensive with the upper edge of said urine sack, means connecting said upper edges together continuously along the rear of saidsacks and along substantial portions of the edges on both sides of the sack, with other side portions of the edges and the front portions of those edges unconnected, the forepart of said scrotum sack being rearwardly spaced from the front wall of said urine sack, the upper part of said'forepart of said scrotum sack being formed with a vertical slot passing the penis of the wearer into the space between the forepart of the scrotum sack and the front wall of the urine sack, and means for drawing and holding the forepart of said scrotum sack in an elevated position.

7. A urinal pouch of the character described, said pouch'comprisin'g an outer urine sack open only at its top, a scrotum sack depending within the upper part of said urine sack with its upper edge substantially aligned with and coextensive with the upper edge of said urine sack, means connecting said upper edges together continuously along the rear of said sacks and along substantial portions of the edges on both sides of the sack, with other side portions of the edges and the front portions of these edges unconnected, the forepart of said, scrotum sack being rearwardly spaced from the front wall of said urine sack, the upper part of said forepart of said scrotum sack being formed with a Vertical slot passing the penis of the wearer into the space between the forepart of the scrotum sack and the front wall of the urine sack, and.- means for drawing and holding the forepart of said scrotum sack in an elevated position, the lastmentioned means comprising tabs on the opposite edges of said vertical slot.
