. v ems 'l Filed oct.' s. 1931sl Patented July 2, `194() PATENT: orrlcs GAME Hans Skreberg, Big Bend Township, Chippewa County, Minn.
Application Y 1 Claim.
This invention relates to games, and more particularly to an amusement device forming a catapult and projector for rolling and ejecting a playing disc.
The object of my present invention is to provide a catapult or projector adapted to be placed on a iioor or other horizontal surface that Will enable a person playing the game to make a disc roll, jump, and also perform in other ways.`
My present improvement in games may be made from wood, metal, or combinations of suit- .disc is rolled off the rocking arm of the projector when the arm is depressed by a stroke from a playing stick.
Fig. 3 shows the opposite side of the projector as compared with Fig. 1.
Fig.` 4 is a side elevation showing a playing disc hung on the top face of the upwardly extending `curved section of the rocking arm of the projector, and how the playing disc is ejected on the rocking arm by a stroke at opposite end of arm by a playing stick.
Fig. 5 shows how anvil-forming end of rocking arm serves as a rest for a playing disc when the said disc is projected by inserting a playing stick ina hole in the disc.
` Fig. 6 is an end View of the projector showing the anvil-forming section of rocking arm and its relation with a playing stick.
Similar reference characters designate corre-` sponding parts throughout the and drawing.
As will be observed from the drawing, the base A forms the support for the semiecircular member B, and also for a member C` Members B and C extend upward from base A and form the bearings for the rocking arm D.
Members B and C also form guides for a playing disc E, when saiddisc is in position on concave section M of. the. rocking arm D, as shown several figures in Fig. 1.
october e, 193s, serial No. 233,593
The playing disc guide sections of members B and C are designated as N and C, in Fig. 4.
The end of rocking arm D where a playing disc to b-e projected is hung is designated as J, and the opposite end of the rocking arm D which forms a striking anvil for a playing stick F is designated in the several iigures as K.
Playing stick is designated as. l in Fig. 5.
The top faces of rocking arml Dl are parallel with bottom face of sinne,` and bottom face of rocking arm rests on the base A when said arm is in its normal position.
The semi-circular member B, which is connected with member C by means of the rocking arm pivot bolt l-I, forms a guide for the rocking arm D during its entire movement from normal to depressed position, eliminating side-sway and weaving of said arm.
In Fig. 6 hole in member B for rocking arm pivot bolt H is designated as G, and hole for l same bolt in rocking arm D as I.
Characters L, in Fig. l, Fig. 3, and Fig. 6, represent rivets connecting member C with base A. Without further description it is thought that the features and advantages of the invention herein shown anddescribed will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art as an amusement device providing safe and wholesome fun and healthful exercise for children and adults, both as an indoor and outdoor spo-rt, and very inexpensive to manufacture.
I claim:
A projector for an annular playing disc comprising, in combination, a base, two upwardly extending supporting members secured thereon, said members having their adjacent faces parallel and spaced apart, a throwing lever pivoted intermediatez its ends between said members, said lever having one arm with a flat portion on the lower surface upon which the arm `normally rests and a concave upper surface complementary to the edge of the disc to be projected, said upwardly extending supporting members acting as guides to hold the disc in the concave portion of the arm Whensaid arm is in normal position, said lever having its opposite arm upwardly inclined when in normal position and terminating in a normally horizontal surface such that when said arm is struck with a playing stick or other means the disc will be projected.
