The foregoingand other desirable objects are attained by the novel features .l of construction, combinations and relations ot parts hereinafter described, illustrated in the accompanying draw' ings and covered in the claims.
The drawings illustrate'several of the diiierent possible forms of the invention. Structure however may be further modified and changed al1 2 within the true intent and scope of the invention as hereinafter deilned and claimed.

The top member 22, is shown as extended at one side and provided with a stick receiving opening 26, in line with a corresponding opening 21, in the inwardly turned extension 28, beneath the same. A thumb screw 2l, releasably clamps' the stick in these aligned seats in the top and bottom of the member 22. The flexible tubing 30, is shown as run through a guide opening 3l, near the upper end of the stick, so as to hold the bulb at a level where it can be readily reached in the various positions of vertical adjustment of the powder marker. 3Q
The powder holderis slidingly confined to and yieldingly held on the upright by spring means consisting in the illustrationv of a single length of spring wire bent to form upper and lower spring arms 32, 33, engaging the back of the Aupright and connected by the side arms 34, having looped intermediate portions 35, hooked over the lugs 26,. inset in the sides of the powder box. The upper and lower spring arms are shown covered by tubular elements forming rollers 31, the lower one of these covering and coupling the opposing end portions 38, of the single piece of the spring wire. The side portions 34, of the loop of spring wire are tensioned toward each other, so as to hold this loop engaged with the lugs or shoulders 36, on the opposite sides of the powder box. To-deiinitely guide the powder holder in slid-v ing engagement with -the stick, said holder is shown formed with an uprightn open groove 39,
' in the back of the same, said groove being of a size to freely receive the stick.
The pressure tubing may be a single continuous piece of metallic tubing, or part metallic tubing and exible hose, or a single continuous length of ilexible hose. In the latter instance, the hose may be held by a grommet 40, Fig, 5, of resilient rubber, having an opening therethrough of a size to receive and yieldingly grip the rubber hose 30, and having a peripheral groove at 4l,
engaged Vover a flange d2, of a screw ring 3, connected with the screw-threaded neck M, on the top of the box. These parts are assembled by passing the end of the tubing through the grommet and then forcing the grommet into position over the ange of the screw cap or ring 43. The grommet is then confined in position frictionally gripping and holding the tubing and so held, the cap can be applied to or taken 01T the box whenever required, without loosening the tubing.
Figs. 8 and 9 illustrate a mcdied form in which shoulders for holding the retainer spring to the box are provided by simply forming upright grooves d5, in the opposite sides of the box to receive substantially straight side portions d6, of the spring loop.
Figs. l and 11 illustrate a modification in which the powder holder is in two parts, an upper part lill, carrying the nozzle il and grooved at the back at 39, and a lower part consisting of a jar fic, having a screw connection with the upper part at 9.
' In Figs. 12 and 13, there is illustrated a modiication in which there is an upper head portion 50, Acarrying the nozzle and the parts slidingly held to and retained on the stick, a rotatably adjustable duplex compartment jar l, seated in said head and a removable top 52, engaged over said jar. The head in this case is shown formed as a circular ring 53, within which the jar seats on an annular iiange 56, being retained in either one or the other of two diametrically reversed positions by notches in opposite edges engaging over corresponding ridges on said flange at 55. In either of such reversible relations, a notch 56, in the upper edge of the compartment which is at the front, registers with the discharge nozzle Il. The cover 52, carries the pressure tubing i3, in position to open into the forward compartment. This cover is indicated as removably secured by bayonet joint connection at 51, and this cover is shown as engaging the partition 58, between the compartments in the closed position, so that pressure will be applied only to the powder in the front compartment which is only in connection with the nozzle. With this form of the invention, powders of different color may, be provided in the different compartments and used as best suited to mark diierent skirt materials.
What is claimed is:
1. A skirt marker comprising in combination, an upright support, a powder holder having a powder discharge outlet at the front of ythe same and having the back of the same slidingly engaged with one side of said upright support, spring means slidingly engaged with the opposite side of said support and yieldingly holding said powder holder in sliding engagement with said support and releasably retained in positions of vertical adjustment on said upright support, a hand operated air pressure creating device connected with said powder holder, said spring means including spring arms bearing against said support at vertically separated points and substantially horizontally extending rollers on said spring arms.
2. A skirt marker comprising in combination, an upright support, a powder holder having a powder discharge outlet at the front of the same and having the back of the same slidingly engaged with one side of said upright support, spring meansslidingly engaged with the opposite side of said support and yieldingly holding said powder holder in sliding engagement with said support and releasably retained in positions of vertical adjustment on said upright support and a hand operated air pressure creating device connected with said powder holder, said holder being in two parts, an upper part carrying the powder discharge outlet and yieldingly-and slidingly engaged with the supportl and a lower multiple compartment part rotatably associated with said upper part and means for effecting selective connection of different compartments of said lower member with said air pressure creating 'device and with said powder discharge outlet in different rotative positions of said lower member.
3. A skirt marker comprising an upright support, a powder container having the back of the same slidingly engaged with the front of said support, said container having a powder discharge outlet in the front of the same, a loop of spring wire having spaced upper and lower portions slidingly engaged with the back of said support and `intermediate portions engaged with said container to yieldingly hold said container slidingly engaged with said support and' retained in positions of vertical adjustment and hand operated air pressure creatingv means con-I nected with said container, said .loop being a continuous length of wire with the ends of the same approached in opposing relation at the back of the support and .a tubular retainer rotatablyA engaged over said approached wire ends and forming a roller engaging said support.
4. A skirt marker comprising an upright support, a powder container having one side slidingly engaged with lsaid support, a retaining spring'yieldingly holding said container so en-4 gaged with said `support and in positions of vertical adjustment thereon, said container having a powder discharge outlet and hand operated air pressure creating means connected with said container, said retaining spring including a loop of spring wire engaged about portions of said container and support and rollers on the portions engaging said support.
5. A skirt marker, comprising a powder ejector mounted for vertical adjustment and including a supporting ring having a powder discharge passage, a multiple compartment powder jar supported for angular adjustment in said ring and each compartment of the samehaving an outlet for registery with said powder discharge outlet, a cover for said angularly adjustable powder jar removably engageable with said supporting ring and a pressure applying connection carried by said cover in position to register with the compartment which is in communication with said powder discharge outlet.

A skirt marker, comprising in combination, an upright support, a powder holder having a powder discharge outlet at the front of the same and having an open grooveway in the back of the same slidably engaged over the front of said upright support, spring means having upper and lower spring arms slidingly engaged with the back of said upright support at vertically separated points and forwardly projecting intermediate side portions engaged with said powder holder at opposite sides of said open grooveway vco in the back of the holder and whereby said spring l means is attached to said holder with the upper and lower spring arms bearing against the back of the upright support to hold the back of the powder holder slidingly engaged over the front of said upright support and hand operated air pressure creating means connected with said powder holder.
7. A skirt marker, comprising in combination, an upright support, a powder holder including an upper part having a powder discharge outlet in the front of the same and an open grooveway in the back of the same and a lower powder containing part detachably connected to the under side of said upper part, said upper part of the powder holder being disposed with the open grooveway in the back of the same slidingiy engaged over the front of said upright support, air supply tubing extending down through the top of said upper part into said lower powder containing part of said powder holder and spring means including vertically spaced upper and lower spring arms slidingly engaging the back of the upright support and forwardly projecting intermediate side arms connected with said upper holder part at opposite sides of said open groove- 10 Way. s
