ciated parts are supported. 1 represents dia- .At the back of the sound producing housing grammatically a portion of the electromagnetic 3 is removable plate 3E closing opening 31 through 'impulse receiving and amplifying circuit by which the interior of the sound producing houswhich the electromagnetic impulses are received ing can be inspected. y
It is well known that electromagnetic impulses discharged from a suitable generating apparatus will travel great distancesand there may be intercepted by any suitable antenna and thereby 'l generate bi-directional electric currents to control and modify the plate current in a suitable receiving apparatus and which current is`utilized to operate a sound producer or a so-called loud speaker. Itis with the waves or impulses of this l0 produced sound as well as present invention is concerned for the conversion of such sound waves into so-called horse power and referring 'to the operation of my present invention in its preferred form.
u `Electromagnetic impulses discharged into the atmosphere by a source such as the radio sending or broadcasting apparatus, will cut or thread through the antenna which may extend from a L radio receiving'apparatus and thereby generate in the antenna feeble or weak electric currents which may be amplified by the receiving apparatus to provide electric currents of higher magnitude or intensity than the currents generated in the antenna and these higher magnitude or s. intensity currents transmitted'to the loud speaker where because of the rapid change in magnitude of the electrical impulses in the coils of the loud speaker rapid magnetic vibration is set up in i its core and thereby generate sound of different wave lengths or magnitude which are transmitted 'through the sound directing frame l to the diaphragms of the motor which diaphragms vibrate in' accordance with the sound'waves impinging thereon and in turn cause the shown springable s pins connectedto the diaphragms to vibrate longitudinally with the vibrations of the diaphragms and because of the pins engagement with the teeth of the ratchet `wheels on the'drive shaft will' cause the drive shaft to rotate at high speed by 40 reason of the rapidity and force of diaphragms 'vibration caused by the rapidity and magnitude of the sound waves.
It is to be understood that in theoperation of my invention direct from sound waves produced bymeans other than the electromagnetic sound producerhereinbefore referred to, the electromagnetic sound producer and its casing 3 may be removed so thatthe sound waves emanating from some otherv source can impinge directly on I0 the diaphragms to which the springable steel pins engaging the ratchet wheels are attached and thereby vibrate theV diaphragms in accordance with the magnitude and frequency of such sound waves. I w
Although my present scribed with particular reference-to operation by sound waves produced by radio electromagnetic discharge, it is. to-be that the invention is equally operable by sound waves derived from any source and of sumcient' magnitude and frequency. While I lveyshown4 and del scribed springable' pins to the diaphragms for engaging vvratchet.wheels for driving the drive shaft when the. diaphragms are. vibrated, it is to be understood thatany ,suitable means associated with the diaphragms and drive shaft-may be employed to drive the said shaft bygthe vibration of the diaphragms.V 70 Having described the-invention, I'claim:
