The rear ends operation, a spring leaf assembly is carried by of the frame 5 are constructed as bearings 8 for one side of the frame 5, said assembly comprising journaling the ends of an axle 9, to the opposite a middle spring leaf 40 embraced between two ends of which axle are secured, as by means of relatively shorter spring leaves 4|, and one end 0 pins ID, the supporting wheels l2 which also conof the assembly being secured by fastenings 42 40 stitute driving means, through the medium of the to a bracket element 43 attached to the side of crank portion [4 of the axle and a pivotal link the frame in such a manner as to present the member l5, for transmitting movement to the free end of the middle leaf it in the path of a movable parts of the construction, as hereinafter pin 44 projecting from the inner side of the 5 described. wheel l2 on that side of the frame. With this 45 A clip element I6 is fastened by screws I! or arrangement, each turn of said Wheel will enthe like to the inside of the forward end portion gage and release said spring leaf 40 with a snap of he fr me 5 f r rr a h r n l pivo pin action, with the result that the springing and I8 on which is fulcrumed the forward end of a snapping engagement of the spring leaves will 3 curved supporting arm 20, the rear end of which produce rapid sounds in imitation of those of the is pivotally connected at 2| to the upper end of feet of a running animal as represented by the the operating link 15. moving animal figure 22.
On the upper face of this supporting arm 20 It will thus be apparent that the lifelike moveare mounted the head and neck portions of an ments executed by the operation of the improved 3 animal figure 22 as well as the body portion 24 toy vehicle construction as well as the sounds produced in connection with said operation are such as to be calculated to make the device have a very strong appeal to the class of persons for which it is designed; and also that the described construction constitutes a very simple and strong as well as inexpensive type of construction adapted to be economically manufactured. Moreover, while I have illustrated and described what I have found to represent a very eflicient and satisfactory form of embodiment of the proposed features of improvement, I desire to be understood as reserving the right to make all changes or minor modifications which may fairly be deemed to fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A toy jockey vehicle comprising :a frame provided with supporting wheels, a movablearm carrying an animal figure and a jockey figure, said jockey figure including legs composed of pivoted sections forming hip and knee joints and rockably connected with the vehicle frame, and means actuated by the travel of said wheels for transmitting movement to said arm for correspondingly moving said figures to simulate the movements of a jockey riding the animal.
2. A toy jockey vehicle comprising a frame provided with supporting wheels, a movable arm carrying an animal figure and a jockey figure, said jockey figure comprising a body portion mounted on said arm and leg members formed in sections pivotally connected to form knee joints and also pivotally connected with said body portion at points representing hip joints, the feet portions of said leg members being rockably connected with the vehicle frame, and means actuated by the rolling movement of the wheels for transmitting movement to said arm for correspondingly moving said figures to simulate the movements of a jockey riding the animal.
