The top rail of the sash I2 is provided with cam elements spaced apart on the upper edge thereof and having hook-shaped portions 2I for entering notches or slots 22; The hook-shaped part 2| is fori'ned with an,inclined or cam surface 23 for coacting with the keepers orbottoms 2 4 of the notches 22. The bottom rail of the sash I2 is provided with hook-shaped elements 25 formed by providing the bottom rail with a lengthwise recess 26, these elements 25 coacting with hook-shaped elements or keepers 21 secured to the ange I8. 'Boththe surfaces of the element 25 and the hook-shaped part 21 are formed wedge or cam shaped.
In operation, assuming the inner or movable closure is placed in position by rst passi'ngthe hook-shaped, element 2l through the notches 22 while the sash is held in slightly-inclined position; then swinging the sash I2 into @position parallel with the closure 1 and then pushing down on the sash I2 or letting it drop, thus engaging the elements I5, 2li` and 21 with the slots I6, 22 and hook-shaped parts 26 on the frame I. Owing to the inclined surfaces I1, 23, 21, the closure 8, or the sash I2 thereof, is pressed against the tirelike member 9. The slots I6, 22 are wider than the hook-shaped parts I4 and 2l. Thus, when the sash I2 is firmly clamped against the tirelike member, it is in sealed relation thereto, so that the space between the panelsis sealed and also thetirelike member acts as a cushion for the closure 8 as well as for the closure 1.
-Suitable fastening means, as a screw 28, may be provided for holding the sash I2 from working loose under vibration of the vehicle, and also a suitable handle 29 may be provided along the rail of the sash I2 for assisting in demounting it. Also, if desired, after the sash I2 has been lifted to disengage the hook-shaped parts Il and 23 from the notches 22 and slots I6, the lower'end may be tilted outwardly slightly and then again dropped to again engage the hook-shaped parts 23 with the bottom walls of the notches 22 so that the hook-shaped parts 23 then act as hingeleaves to permit the sash I2 to be swung inwardly with the hook-shaped parts 23 serving as hinges. 5
