1 Claim. (CI. 65-81) The invention relates to a can perforating and contents pouring device and more especially to a can holder and contents dispenser.

The primary object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character, wherein a can containing liquid such as evaporated milk or other contents can be conveniently held and perforated so that the contents can be readily poured from the can, the device being of novel construction. 7

Another object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character, wherein different sizes of cans can be held therein and the contents dispensed therefrom in a convenient manner without the spilling or waste of such contents during the pouring period thereof.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character, which is simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and eflicient in operation, convenient for the dispensing of liquidcontents of receptacles such as cans or the like, strong, durable, and inexpensive to manufacture. v

With these and other objectsin view, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination-and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred embodiment of the invention and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.

Figure 1 is a top plan view of the device constructed in accordance with the invention.

Figure 2 is a sectional view on the line 2-2 of Figure 1 looking in the direction of the arrows.

Similar reference characters indicate corre= spending parts throughout the several viewsin the drawing.

Referring to the drawing in detail, A designates generally a can of cylindrical type and B its contents, liquid in kind. This can A is accommodated within a holder and contents dispenser constituting the present invention and hereinafter fully described.

The holder and dispenser comprises a cylindrical body 5, preferably made from metal, having a closed top 6 while the opposite or bottom is open as at 'l and this body 5 has the can A introduced therein through the open end of the same. Inwardly from the closed top 6 is a head '8 forming between it and the top 6 an air inlet chamber or space 9, the side wall of the body 5 being perforated to provide an air inlet vent or hole and likewise the head 8 carries a vent or hole il so that'atmospheric air can flow in- "contents freely.

Formed exteriorly on the body 5 is a pouring spout l2 while the head 8 is provided with a guard or hood l3 for directing the contents B of the can A into the spout from a perforated hollow punching prong or piercing member I4 depending from the head 8 interiorly of the body 5 for puncturing the can at the top thereof when forced within the body 5 so that the contents of the can can be delivered or dispensed through the spout l2. 7

The head 6 is provided with a perforated hollow punch or piercing member l5, which punctures the top so that air from without the body 5 can pass into the can A and thus assure the flow of contents therefrom through the spout l2 of the device. I

Interiorly of the body 5 is a clamping bar it having spaced stems I'I slidable through clearances therefor in the side wall of the body 5 and body 5 for the holding of said can thereby. This can A is introduced through the open end i and when forced within the body, the top of the can becomes punctured at two points, one forthe admission of air into the can and the other for the discharge of the contents of the can, the contents being adapted on discharge to flow through the spout l2.

Thus by the clamping bar [6 different sizes of cans can be conveniently held within the device. and the dispensing of the contents had.

The head 8 inwardly with relation tothe closed end 6 of the body 5 is strengthened and reinforced by bolt-like members 28, these also holding superimposed upon the closed end 6 a covering plate or disk 2i.

The hood or guard I 3 directs the contents of the can into the spout l2 exteriorly of the body 5 of the device, being disposed in overhanging relation to the prong or piercing member it through which the contents of the can is delivered.

The handle or grip is a part of the clamping bar so that the latter can be actuated and also the device carried in the hand and the contents of the can conveniently poured when holding the device in the hand.

What is claimed is:

A holder and dispenser of the kind described, comprising a cylindrical body closed at one end and open at the other end, a head arranged within the body spaced from the closed end thereof and having perforations providing an air inlet vent and a pouring hole, a pouring spout built exteriorly on the body and having a hooded inner end fixed to said head and overhanging the pouring hole for directing flow through said hole in the direction of the spout, hollow perforated punching prongs built with the head and the said air inlet vent and said pouring hole, a handle slidably fitting the body between the headand said open end of the body, a clamping bar fitted the closed end of said body and fixed by said boltlike members, and springs fitted with the handle and active for holding the clamping bar under tension inwardly of'the body.
