Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 215,660, dated May 20, 1879; application filed April 12, 1879.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, DANIEL D. PAINE, WILLIAM BRIGHTY, and ALMON E. PULNER, of Moline, in the county of 'Allegan and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Water-Elevators; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure l of the drawings is a representation of a vertical central section of our water-elevator, and Fig. 2 is a vertical cross-section of the same.
Our invention relates to water-elevators; and it consists in the following described and claimed mechanism.
A is a frame. B is a water-receiver. O is the exit or spout of the water-receiver. D is a flexible bail, extending from side to side of the frame, as shown, and constructed and located so as to engage the hooks with which the water elevators or buckets D are provided. E is the operating-crank. F is the driving spurwheel. G G are pinions, provided with pulley-flanges g g. H H are T-shaped pieces, for holding the spur-wheel and pinions in po and an automatic emptying of the water into the receiver.
What we claim as new, and desire secured by Letters Patent, is
The return-pulley L, attached to the support H by the stud, in combination with the pinions G G, well-rope K, bail D, and waterreceiver, constructed and operating together as and for the purposes substantially as set forth.
