This invention relates to a cuff link; and has for one of its objects the provision of a construction which will be extremely simple and one which will accordingly be inexpensive toman-.

7 Another object of the invention is the provision of a. cuff link with a movable head which may be made by cutting the parts from sheet stock with a minimum number of parts, namely, lo two for assembly whereby a movement of one part relative to the other may be had.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a structure from which various ornamental head configurations may be had.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, as will be more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

Cuff links of a character having movable parts so that one part may be moved relative to the other for easy insertion into the cuff followed by a subsequent movement to prevent extraction of the link from the cuff are desirable; and in have provided two parts and so shaped the stock forming these parts that they may be pivoted together in the form having spaced heads with a shank connecting the heads, all of which may be accomplished at minimum cost; and the following is a more detailed description of the present embodiment of this invention, illustrating the preferred means by which these advantageous results may be accomplished:

. ears [9 are partially folded and then the head positioned so that when the fold is completed the trunnions [4 will extend into the openings 20 in the ears that a pivotal relation of the parts may be had, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. This relationship is such that the head l5 may be positioned as shown in Fig. 2, for insertion of thehead through the button hole of a cuff, after which the head may be swung to the position shown in Fig. l to prevent extraction of the link from the button holes of the cuff.

It will be readily apparent from the above that, the particular shape of the head [5 or of the head 2! may be varied that different designs may be provided. it being usually desirable that some symmetrical-configuration which will conform well with the notches 22or 23 as provided by bending of the stock to form the pivoting portions will be desirable.

The foregoing description is directed solely towards the construction illustrated, but I desire it to be understood that I reserve the privilege of resortingto all the mechanical changes to which the device is susceptible, the invention being defined and limited only by the terms of the ap- -,pended claims.

I claim:

A cuif link comprising two pieces of sheet stock, one piece providing a headwith folded members extending therefrom at right angles thereto and providing a shank, the other member having ears sheared therefrom inwardly of the edges thereof and folded inspaced relation and provided with openings receiving the ends of said shank members to pivotally relate the parts.
