The side clip portions l6 should be free from the flanges I 8 and I9 at the top and bottom of the screen frame, respectively, to permit free inward displacement of the clip portions I6 when mounting the screen in a window opening.
I claim:
1. A window screen for mounting in a window opening having a bead on the inner side thereof; and having a window mounted therein comprising a frame, a spring clip member mounted to have clip engagement with a bead on a window opening and having a sealing portion spaced from said clip portion and resiliently mounted with respect to said clip portion, said sealing portion being positioned to be engaged by a window mounted in said window opening on closing said window, the space between said clip member and said sealing member being joined by a nonpermeable element to provide a weather-tight seal between said head and said window with said window in a closed position.
2. A window screen for mounting in a window opening having a bead on the inner side thereof and having a window mounted therein; comprising a frame having a spring clip member mounted to have clip engagement with a bead on a window opening.
3. A window screen for mounting in a window opening having a window pivotally mounted therein; comprising a frame, securing means mounted to hold said frame in close engagement with an area surrounding a window opening, a
* resiliently mounted strip carried by said frame and positioned to be engaged by a window on closing said window, the space between said frame and said strip being closed to provide a weather tight seal between said window and said window opening.
4. A window screen for mounting in a window opening having a window mounted therein; comprising a frame securing means mounted to hold said frame in close engagement with an area surrounding a window opening, a resiliently mounted strip carried by said frame and positioned to be engaged by a window on closing said window, the space between said frame and said strip being closed to provide a weather tight seal between said window and said window opening.
5. A window screen for mounting in a window opening having a window pivotally mounted therein; comprising a frame, securing means mounted to hold said frame in close engagement with an area surrounding a window opening, a resiliently mounted strip carried by said frame and positioned to be engaged by a window on closing said window, the space between said frame and said strip being filled with a compressible nonpermeable substance to provide a weather tight seal between said window and said window openmg.
6. A window screen for mounting in a frameless window opening having a bead on the inner side thereof and having a window pivotally mounted therein; comprising a frame, a spring clip member mounted on said frame to have clip engagement with a bead on said window opening, said frame being formed of a channel of sheet metal continuous throughout its width and having a sealing portion spaced from said clip portion to be engaged by a window pivotally mounted in said window opening to provide a weather tight seal between said bead and said window with said window in a closed position.
