This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in stop mechanism for textile machines.
'I'he principal object of the present invention 5 is to provide a stop mechanism wherein a separator is provided for the drop wires so that the drop wires will be capable of functioning independently of each other without likelihood of any binding action between the same.
Another important object oi the invention is to provide means for preventing sticking of the drop wires by including a member for exerting force against the drop wires when the thread of a particular wire becomes broken. Y

Referring tov the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 represents the frame of the organized mechanism and numeral 6 represent depending arms for supporting rockers denoted by numeral 1. These rockers 'I are mounted on an elongated rod 8. Each of these rockers I has its upstanding portion secured toa corresponding drop wire 9, which extends upwardly, obliquely as at I0 and then backwardly as at II for attachment to the thread hook I2, which receives the thread I3.
The separator complementary to the drop wires is generally referred to by numeral I4 and consistsof the base plate I5 having its longitudinal 45 edge portions bent upwardly and inwardly as at I9 to provide a slideway for receiving the base portions of the L-shaped or angle members Il, the upstanding portions of which are apertured as at I8 to receivethe rod 8, which rod also extends through the rockers 'I of the stop mechanism'. Thus it can be seen, as in Figure 1, that each of the rockers` I and its corresponding drop wire 9 is separated from the adjacent unit.
The means for preventing sticking and failure of the drop wires to drop when a thread breaks, consists of the elongated rod I9, having its end portions disposed laterally as at 29 in the same direction and then inwardly as at`2l and then outwardly in parallel relation as at 22 to termi-l nate in laterally disposed pintles 23 which can engage into openings in the arm portions 6.
f Thus a bail is formed, on the` straight portion or rod portion 9 of which a plurality of individually rotatable tubular Vsections 24 are disposed. The openings through these tubular members 24 are substantially larger in diameter than the diameter of the rod I9 so that as a matter of factthey are quite loose and when the drop wires engage against the same as in Figure 2 with the hooks I2 engaging the threadsV I3, the tubular sections 24 are urged against their tendency to gravitate and centralize tothe offset position as shown. I-Iowever, when one of the threads I3 breaks, the tendency of the corresponding tubular sections 24 to gravitate and centralize itself on the rod I9 results in a movement of the drop wire 9 which is sufcient to cause it to detach itself from the corresponding tube 24 and result in the actuation of the rocker 'I. This is highly desirable because frequently the backing Wire (for which the rod. I9 is substituted) becomes sticky and the drop wires adhere thereto.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the inventionv as claimed hereinafter.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
l. In a textile mechanism, a drop wire assembly including a plurality of drop wires each including a thread engaging hook and a stop mechanism rocker, a backing wire for the drop wire, said backing wire being provided with a plurality of loosely disposed tubular sections thereon against which the drop wires engage.
2. In a textile mechanism, a drop wire assembly including a` plurality of drop wires each including a thread engaging hook and a stop mechanism rocker, a backing Wire' for the drop wire, said backing wire being provided with a plurality of loosely disposed tubular sections thereon against which the drop wires engage, to hold the said tubular section in laterally oifset position when the hooks thereof are engaged with the threads.
3. In an organized mechanism for the purpose described and in combination, a plurality of drop wires arranged side by side, side by side rockers each in connection with the drop wire, separating members disposed between the rockers and adapted to prevent binding or sticking of the drop wires so that each is free to fall independently of the others, a crosswire rod disposed back of and at right angles to the drop wires, and tubular sections arranged end to end and freely movable on said crosswise rod and engaging the back of the drop wires.
4. In an organized mechanism for the purpose described and in combination, a plurality of drop Wires arranged side by side, side by side rockers in the base plate.
