6 Claims.
The invention relates to a sanitary tooth-brush container with antiseptic vial.
The object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set `forth, a means for 5 suspending a tooth-brush by its head, within which means, while the tooth-brush is so suspended, the tooth-brush head will be subjected to a thorough sterilization, the purpose being to have the tooth-brush head sterilized before each l time it is used.
in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a sanitary tooth-brush container or holder which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, compact, thoroughly efcient in its use, conveniently operated to permit of the suspension thereby and the removal therefrom of the brush, and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture. With the foregoing rand other objects which may hereinafter appear, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more specically described and are as illustrated in the accompanying drawing wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, Variations and modifications may be resorted to which fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of the holder.
Figure 2 is a front elevationv of the holder when closed.
Figure 3 is a section on line 3 3, Figure l.
Figure 4 is a section on line 4-E, Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a fragmentary view in vertical section on line 5 5, Figure 3.
Figure 6 is a top plan view of the holder and its support, and
Figure 7 is a top plan view of a sem'es of holders fixed to a common support.
TheV holder is of cylindrical contour and includes an annular split, outer, vertical shell 8. The split in the latter is at the front thereof. The edges of the split of shell 8 are arranged Further objects of the invention are to provide,-
a desired distance apart to form an opening for 1936, serial No. 73,956
and oppositely disposed lwith respect to each other. The member II is of greater length than the member I2. Each .of said members is open at its outer end and of angle shape in vertical section. Each member includes a lower, vertical leg I3, an intermediate horizontal leg i4 and an upper vertical leg I5. `The leg I4 extends inwardly from the upper end of the leg I3 and merges at its innerv end into the lower-end of the leg I5. The legs I5 of said members II, I2 are offset with respect to the inner face of `shell 8, and provide inconnection with thelatter a `pair of trackways and with the-outer end of one track way'aligning in spaced relation with the outer end of the other traokway. The track-ways are opened -at their forward :or outer ends and closed at their rear ends bythe flanges :I6 extending from the .legs i5 and abutting or secured to the inner :face Vof 'the shell 8. The legs I5 of the-members II., l2 extend beyond the hook 9 and edge Qa of ,theV split at the front of the shell 8. The flanges L6 `constitute stops for -a purpose to be referred to.
The opening provided by the split at the front of the shell 8 is closed by a spring controlled shutn ter `structure ll'l formed of a shutter I8 of segmental contour in plan which seats upon the `legsY Ill and bears against the outer face of the legs I5. The shutter I8 at its `sides is formed with forwardly-directed hooks IB, 20 which coact respectively withthe hook 8 and edge 9a for arresting the closing movementof the shutter to retain the latter in closed -position against the action of the controlling spring for structure Il. Formed integral with the upper end Vof the shutter I8 is a triangular shaped slide .I2-'I of segmental contour in cross section. Fixedly secured tothe slide @2l is a rotatable stub shaft 22 which depends below slide 2| and carries a radially disposed pin 23 to which is anchored the end 24 of a controlling spring 25. Theuothervendfoci spring 25'is connected to a vbracket 26 secured to the inner face of the shell B'in proximity to its upper end. The shaft 23 is disposed vertically and carries on its upper end a finger piece or knob 21 to facilitate the turning of the shaft when occasion requires. The shaft is turned against the action of the 4spring 25 for the ipurposeof opening the vshell 8 the member II the desired extent to permit entrance to the. holder.
