DISPENSER Filed July 1e, 19:56 2 sheets-sheet 2 Patented May 1S, 193'? 4 Claims.
The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in beverage dispensers and has for its primary object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, an apparatus of this character which is adapted to be mounted on the body and carried from place to place o-r, in other words, whichv is portable.
Other objects of the invention are to provide a portable beverage dispensing apparatus of the aforementioned character which will be comparatively simple in construction, strong, durable, light in weight, compact and which may be manufactured at low cost.
All of the foregoing and still further objects and advantages oi the invention will become apparent from a study of the following specication, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and wherein:-
Figure l is a view partially in side elevation and partially in vertical longitudinal section, showing a portable beverage dispensing apparatus constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is a View in rear elevation of the rear portion of the apparatus, the coupling being broken away in section.
Figure 3 is a top plan View of the invention.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the embodiment of the invention which has been illustrated comprises a supporting structure which is designated generally by the reference numeral i, said supporting structure including a back frame fi of suitable material from which tubular side bars 3 extend forwardly. As best seen in Figure 3 or the drawings, the
tubular side bars 3 terminate in inwardly curved forward end portions. Vertical members are mounted on the forward ends of the side bars 3. The reference numeral l designates shoulder straps having one end secured to the members 5 and their other ends connected to the back frame 2. As also shown to advantage in Figure 3 of the drawings, the shoulder straps i are crossed.
Mounted vertically on the baci; frame 2 of the supporting structure l is an inverted container i? wl'iich is removably secured in position by suitable resilient straps 'l having co-acting hooks 8 on their free ends. Also mounted on the back frame 2 is a high pressure tank il for carbonio gas, said tank 9 being connected by a conduit iii with the top portion of the container It may be well to here state that the container 6 is for the reception of the beverage to be dispensed. A
. ice.
hand control Yvalve l! is provided in the conduit Il] and said conduit is further provided with a check valve (not shown) adjacent the container 6. A supporting bracket l2 is engaged beneath the container 6.
Also mounted on the back frame i. is a holder i3 of conventional construction for sanitary cups ifi. Supporting legs i5 are slid-ably mounted in guides i6 on the side portions of the back frame 2, said legs being secured inadjusted position by thumb screws il. Aremovable cover i8 of suitable material is provided for the container 6, the tank 9, etc.
Mounted on the depending lower portions of the vertical members 5 is a box is for the reception of a suitable reirigerating agent, such as dry Mounted in the box i9 is a coil 2d from one end of which a pipe 2i extends through one of the tubular 4side bars 3 to the inverted container 6 to- Which said pipe is connected by a valved coupling 22. Of course, the coupling 22 permits the pipe 2l to be readily disconnected from the container 5.
The otherk end of the coil 2li is connected to a faucet or tap 23 above the box I9. Mounted below the tap 23 on the box i9 is a pan 2li. The pan 2li is adapted to catch drippings and also receive glasses, as at 25. Mounted below the box i9 is a closed receptacle 26 to which the pan 24 is connected by a drain pipe 2l. A drain 28 to the receptacle 25 is also provided for the box I9. A valve 2Q permits the drain receptacle Ei to be emptied when desired.
lt is thought that the operation of the invention will be readily apparent from a consideration of the foregoing. The apparatus is adapted to be suspended from the shoulders through the medium of the straps il. The beverage to be dispensed ows from the container e through the pipe 2l to the coil 2li where said beverage is thoroughly cooled in the box i9. Oi course, to dispense any desired quantity of the cooled beverage it is only necessary to open the tap 23. The construction and arrangement is such that a glass ,may be conveniently placed below the tap 23 for receiving.. the beverage therefrom. It will be noted vthat the side of the beverage container 6 which abuts the back frame 2 is substantially dat.
It is believed that the many advantages of a portable beverage dispenser constructed in accordance with the present invention will be readily understood, and although a preferred embodiment of the apparatus is as illustrated and described, itis to be understood that changes in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.
What is claimed isz- 1. A portable beverage dispenser comprising a supporting structure including a vertical back frame and horizontal side bars extending forwardly from said frame, shoulder straps connected, at one end, tothe forward portions of the side bars and at their other ends to the upper portion of the back frame, a beverage container mounted on said back frame, a box mounted on the forward portions of the side bars, a tap mounted on said box, a coil mounted in said box and connected at one end to the tap, and means for detachably connecting the other end of said coil to the beverage container.
2. A portable beverage dispenser of the class described comprising a supporting structure including a back frame, horizontal side bars extending forwardly from the forward portion of said back frame, crossed shoulder straps connected, at one end, to the forward portions of the side bars and at their other ends to the upper portion of the frame, a beverage container removably mounted on the back frame, means mounted on said back frame and connected to the beverage container for supplying a gas under pressure thereto, a removable cover for the beverage container mounted on the back frame, a box mounted on the forward portions of the side bars, said box for the reception of a refrigerating agent, a tap mounted above the box, a coil mounted in said box and having one end connected to said tap, a
pipe extending from the other end of said coil, and a valved coupling detachably connecting said pipe to the beverage container.
3. A beverage dispenser comprising a supporting structure including a vertical back frame, horizontal side bars extending forwardly from said back frame, shoulder straps having one end connected to the side bars and their other ends connected to the back frame, a beverage container mounted on said back frame, a box mounted on the forward portions of the side bars, a tap mounted above the box, said box for the reception of a refrigerating agent, a coil mounted in the box and having one end connected to the tap and its other end connected to the beverage container, a drain receptacle mounted below the box and communicating with the interior of said box, a pan mounted on said box below the tap, and a drain pipe connecting said pan with said 'drain receptacle, said drain pipe passing through the box.
4. A beverage dispensing apparatus comprising a supporting structure including a vertical back frame and tubular horizontal side bars extending forwardly therefrom, a beverage container mounted on the back frame, a box mounted on the forward portions of the tubular side bars, a tap mounted on said box, a coil mounted in said box and having one end connected to said tap,
and a pipe extending from the other end of the coil through one of the tubular side bars and connected to the beverage container.
