Though we have shown and described a particular construction, combination, and arrangement of parts and portions, we do not wish to be limited to this particularconstruction, combination, and arrangement, but desire to includein the scope of our invention, the construction, combination, and arrangemet substantially as set forth in the appended claims.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a laundry cart, apair of wheels in spaced relation, anvaxle connecting said wheels, supports extending vupwardly and connected with said axle,

a receptacle pivotally supportediatthe upperV ends of said supports, a ratchet lever secured to said axle and extending forwardly and backward-f ly thereof provided with ratchets at its opposite*` ends, and a ratchet arc pivotally and shiftably supported on said receptacle and engageable by the ratchets on said ratchet lever. l f

2. In a laundry cart, a pair of wheels in spaced relation, an axle connecting said wheels, supports extending upwardly and connected with said axle, a receptacle pivotally supported at the upper endsv of said supports, a handle member in connection with said supports intermediate their ends and" extending backwardly past the periphery of said wheels, a ratchet leversecured to said axle and extending forwardly and backwardly thereof provided with ratchetsatits opposite ends, and a,V ratchet arc pivotally and shiftably supported onv said receptacle and engageable by the ratchetson said ratchet lever.
