While I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying my invention into effect, this is capable of variation scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. A device for grooves and formed of a substance transparent to X-rays, an identification plate having its longitudinal edge portions freely slidable in the grooves and of a substance opaque to the X-rays, supplemental sheet elements having their opposite longitudinal edge portions freely slidable in the grooves in front of the said plate, and identification indicia mounted on said sheet elements and of a substance opaque to the X-rays.
2. A device for marking X-ray negatives consisting of a frame having oppositely disposed grooves and formed' of a substance transparent to X-rays, an identification plate having its longitudinal edge portions freely slidable in the grooves and of a substance opaque to the X-rays, supplemental sheet elements having their opposite longitudinal edge portions freely slidable in the grooves in front of the said plate, identification indicia mounted on said sheet elements and ing and of a substance opaque to the X-rays, and means for supporting said identification characters in said opening comprising a member adhesively secured to said plate and of a substance transparent to the X-rays'.
3. A device for marking X-ray negatives consisting of a main frame member of X-ray-pervious-material and having a pair of oppositely disposed grooves, an identication plate opaque to l X-rays and having a plurality of cut-away portions with indicia members supported Within some of said cut-away portions by means of an X-ray pervious backing strip attached to said' plate and having said indicia members attached thereto, the said plate being slidable into and out of said grooves in said frame, and a second plate of X-ray-pervious-material slidably supported in said grooves of said frame on top of the said identification opaque to X-rays, and being positioned on said second plate so as to marking X-ray negatives con'-l sisting of a frame having oppositely disposed s tions of said identification plate not occupied by said first-mentioned indicia members.
4. A device for marking X-ray negatives consisting of a rst main frame having a pair of open ended grooves on opposite edge parts thereof, a second frame slidable into the grooves of said first frame and having an elongated central opening, and a transparent plate member slidable into the grooves of said first frame over said second frame and having attached thereto indicia characters formed of an X-ray-impervious substance and positioned thereon to overlie said central opening in said second frame when the several said members are in assembled relation as aforesaid.
5. A device for marking X-ray negatives comprising a main frame in the form of a substantially elongated plate of X-ra -pervious-material and having a pair of opposite edge portions upturned to form open-ended grooves, an identififlanking openings upon an X-ray-pervious backing strip secured to said frame, said identification frame being slidable in the grooves of said main frame, and an indicia plate of X-ray-pervious material slidable in the grooves of said main frame over said identification frame and having X-ray-impervious indicia characters secured said indicia plate are in assembled relation in said main frame.
6. A device for marking X-ray negatives comprising a main frame member of X-ray-perviousmaterial having a pair of open-ended oppositely disposed edgewise grooves, an identification frame formed of X-ray-impervious material and dimenframe having a plurality of y openings therethrough with X-ray-impervious indicia characters supported in a first one of said openings by means attached to said frame and'to said characters, and an indicia plate of X-ray-pervious material also slidable between said grooves of the main plate on vtop of said identification frame when the latter is positioned in the main frame, said plate having secured thereto X-ray-impervious indicia characters positioned thereon to overlie a second said opening in said identification frame and not occupied by identification indicia characters.
