Application February 26, 1936, Serial No. 65,906 3 Claims. (01.128-291) The invention relates to a sanitary belt and Figure 4 is a perspective view of the clasp.

The'primary object of the invention is the pro- Figure 6 is an elevation of a modified form of vision of a belt or holder of this character, whereclasp. 5
in the clasps for the fastening of the modern style Figure 'l is an end view thereof. of gauze or knit end are incased so that there is Figure 8 is an elevation of a further modificano'possibility of injury resultant from contact of tion of clasp. the clasp with the person wearing the belt or Figure 9 is a fragmentary vertical longitudinal 10 holder and also to relieve wear on garments when sectional view showing the clasp in Figure 8 in- 10 the said belt or holder is worn. cased.
Another object of the invention is the provision Similar reference characters indicate correof a belt or holder of this character, wherein the sponding parts throughout the several views in incasing medium for each clasp is constructed the drawing.
from a single length of tape and carries a zipper Referring to the drawing in detail, A designates 15 so that it can be readily opened and closed and generally abelt of elastic or other suitable strip or when closed will envelop the clasp which is of band material Ill having at its end portions novel construction. the adjustable terminal loops ll so that the belt A further object of the invention is the prois susceptible for adjustment in the fitting therevision of abelt or holder of this character, whereof to a wearer. Figure 3 is a sectional view on the line 33 of The shoe 23 which is a part of the runner 22 Figure 1. functions to hold the end of the gauze cover- 55 ing or napkin from slipping when such end I! is engaged in the clasp.
Hung from the rear of the belt A through the medium of a loop 24 is a rear clasp which includes the metal plate 25 formed with a channeled portion 26 and a bendable head 21, the head forming a clincher for attaching together the free longitudinal edges of the tape 28 at the inner end of the run of members I! of the zipper fastener, the said tape 28 being the easement for the clasp. The loop 24 isstitched or otherwise made secure to the casement 28 and such rear clasp fastens the folded rear end of the sanitary napkin, pad or the like as may be worn in the use of the belt. I
- In Figure 6 of the drawing there is shown a modified form of clasp wherein the same in the channeled portion 30 has formed therein a longitudinally directed keyhole shaped or wedgelike slot 3| for the detachable fastening of the end of a sanitary napkin, pad or the like.
The rear clasp having the easement 28 is shown closed in Figure 5 of the drawing.
It has been found advantageous to provide in the lower free end of the clasp shown in Figures 6 and 8 of the drawing a notch 32 to receive the free terminal of the end of the gauze or napkin endv l1 so as to assure further grip of this end and also to permit the runner to freely pass over such end when the casement has been completely closed by the zipper fastener on actuating the runner 22 thereof. The purpose of the shoe is to iron the end I! for tucking and flattening thereof when engaged with the clasp and to hold this end against slipping when fastened in the clasp and the crowding of such end into the channel or groove present within the clasp.
The casement when closed maintains the end I! in close relation to the clasp and the runner 22 of the zipper fastener assures against any slipping of the end I! when engaged with the clasp.
In the use of the clasp at the front and rear of the belt the same can be incased when the ends of the napkin, pad or the like are attached thereto so that there is no possibility of accidental detachment of these ends in the wearing of the belt and the napkin, pad or the like and also contact of the clasp which is made from metal or the like coming in contact with the skin of the person or damaging'the wearing apparel by rubbing action thereon.
