SPORTS KIT Filed July 8, 1935 WITNESS ATTORN EY Patented Oct. 20, 1936 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE SPORTS KIT Carl F. Brinkman, Milwaukee, Wis. Application July 8, 1935, Serial No. 30,400
1. Claim.
This invention relates to sport kits and has for the primary object, the provision of a device of this character which may be conveniently Worn by a huntsman, or a person walking or biking, leaving the person free for any kind of movements and will in no way interfere with the use of the arms and hands and provides accommodations for drinking fluid, foods, blankets and wearing apparel.
With these and other objects in view, this invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a sport kit constructed in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view showing the storage chambers for foods and the chamber for the accommodation of a liquid container.
Figure 3 is a view showing my invention adapted to a person.
Figure 4 is a side elevation illustrating the liquid container.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral I indicates an elongated rigid casing of substantially elliptical shape in cross section and has one end open to receive a liquid container 2, the latter being provided with resilient elements 3 adapted to contact walls of the casing to prevent the container from accidentally moving out of the casing. The liquid container is provided with a pouring spout or neck 4 closed'by a removable cap 5, and is preferably of the type capable of keeping liquid either hot or cold for a desired length of time. The containerZ is for the purpose of providing drinking water or other liquids for the user of the device.
The casing l is divided into chambers 6 and I by a partition 8. The "chamber 1 receives the container 2, while the chamber 6 provides a food compartment which also may be employed for storing other articles than food. The casing I is equipped with a door-Way in the side to give access to the chamber 6.; The door-way is closed by a door 9 hinged to-the casing as shown at In and is held in closed position by a suitable fastener H. 10
Pairs of strap-attaching loops l2 are secured to the casing l and have connected thereto a shoulder strap I3 and luggage carrying straps M. The shoulder strap I3 is composed of two sections detachably connected by a buckle or like fastener If). The shoulder strap may be passed over a persons shoulder-as shown in Fig. 3 positioning the container horizontally upon a persons back. The luggage straps 14 are equipped with buckles l6 so that they may be adjusted about 2. rolled blanket as shown in Fig. 3 and also wearing apparel may be carried by the straps I 4. p
A device of the character described can be easily adapted to a person and worn with comfort leaving the hands and arms of the person free to be employed for any purpose desired by the person.
Having described the invention, I claim:
A kit comprising an elongated rigid casing having one end open and divided into chambers with a door-Way for one of said chambers to admit and permit removal of articles therefrom, a door for closing and opening said door-way, a liquid container removably mounted in the other chamber and providing a closure for the open end of the casing, and resilient elements secured to said container and bearing against the casing and cooperating with one end of the container in supporting the latter in the casing.
