The device forming the subject matter of this application is an all metal extension ladder, preierably made oi aluminum. It; comprises a foot sectionl anda head section 2 mounted for longitudinal slidingadjustment on the foot section I I. The foot section I comprises side members. Each side member includes oppositely disposed, transversely spaced rails 3, which are' bulb type T-bars, each including a body and a flange, the
