A circuit from the coil or solenoid 12 extends to terminal 'l5 and thence by line 'I6 to the line 61. As there is elapsing of the time in the dash pot control, the plunger 13 has attained the lift or thrown position effective at switch 11 to connect from the line 16 through terminal 18 and line 19 to solenoid winding 56, thereby energizing the core 55 for withdrawing the bolt 45 from locking position.
This winding 56 has line 80 therefrom to the line 66 in completing the circuit. Any operation of the spindle 59 to shift the pawl 6I so that the switch 65 is opened after the starting of this delayed operation for the dash pot 14 re-cycles or means a starting over of the dash pot operation to require a delay as initially before the switch 'Vl is closed to effect energizing of the winding 56. It is thus seen that if the dash pot device 14 have a delay of say fifteen minutes, at the end of twelve minutes any throwing of the spindle 59 will, in opening the switch 65, return the switch Il to its initial position and as the pawl may be again operated to close at switch 65, there is the delay for the initial setting of say fteen minutes to be added to the twelve minute or other period.
Should there be desire that control operation for access through the lock by operation of the spindle 59 as occurring say at the instance of one unauthorized, switch 8| may connect line 82 from the line 69 to remote alarm 83, circuit from which is completed by line 84 to the line 16.
No meddling with the electric circuit, even with the door 8 open interferes with the locking effectiveness if the door be thereafter closed. Likewise, any meddling with the circuit with the door closed only increases the safeguarding effected by the electrical devices herein disclosed.
The front opening 6 of the general safe structure herein is shown (Fig. 11) as having closure 85 to form a rectangular door mounted by hinges 86 at jamb 81. Handle 88 through the door is rockable and has frangible pin connection 89 with arm 99 having slot 9| in which pin 92 is operable by rocking the handle 88. The arm 90 is effective through the pin 92, causing bar 93 tomove with bolts 94, 95, in slide ways of guides 96 into and out of locking position for the door. There is thus shown herein provision ofl a plurality of bolts for locking the door. The bolts in this instance are shown only at the side remote from the hinges instead of at the hinge side also. At the hinge side, fixed lugs 91 swing back of the jambadjacent the hinges 86 and thus cooperate in retaining the closed door in the opening 6.
Electric tting 98 in the door provides current connection for electric current supply by way of line 99 to switch 65 as operable by combination lock spindle 59. At closed position for this switch 65, current may ow by line 69 direct to housing 'il of the dash pot re-cycling device. As this device is effective, coil 56 is energized toI pull core 55 connected to withdraw bolt 45 against the resistance of spring 5l. As thuswithdrawn, this bolt 45 clears the inner end of primary locking bolt and thus allows manipulation of the handle 88 to effect unlocking of the door 85. At this unlocked position of the door 85 a shifting of the lock spindle 59 would at once effect a recycling or locking action tendency for this bolt 45. However, with the door open and the bolt 95 withdrawn, this bolt 45 merely rests on the bolt 95 It thus happens that any closure of the door 85 with locking of the bolt 95 into locking position, at once causes a sliding of the bolt 45 into holding position requiring time delay for opening. In the event of any shifting of the spindle 59 during the running of such time, there is added to this cycling a full new cycle of delay. This switch 65 instead of being operated by the spindle 59 may be operated by key lock |00. Any attempt to force the handle 88, ruptures the connection 89 toI preclude unlocking. Pin 89 limits the normal angular throw of the handle 88.
