Abstract
An ammunition loading device comprising of a magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus. The loading apparatus is shaped to only allow the ammunition to enter the magazine in a single direction, the loading apparatus is connected to the magazine using the latch assembly, and the ram assist assembly is pulled down to load the ammunition into the magazine.
Description
- This application relates back to U.S. 63/354,073 filed on Jun. 21, 2022, and is incorporated in its entirety.
- In the following description, numerous specific details are set forth to clearly describe various specific embodiments disclosed herein. One skilled in the art, however, will understand that the presently claimed invention may be practiced without all of the specific details discussed below. In other instances, well known features have not been described so as not to obscure the invention.
- As described herein, the term “pivotally connected” shall be used to describe a situation wherein two or more identified objects are joined together in a manner that allows one or both of the objects to pivot, and/or rotate about or in relation to the other object in either a horizontal or vertical manner.
- As described herein, the term “removably coupled” and derivatives thereof shall be used to describe a situation wherein two or more objects are joined together in a non-permanent manner so as to allow the same objects to be repeatedly joined and separated.
- Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. The use of “including,” “comprising,” or “having” and variations thereof herein is meant to encompass the items listed thereafter and equivalents thereof as well as additional items. Unless limited otherwise, the terms “connected,” “coupled,” and “mounted,” and variations thereof herein are used broadly and encompass direct and indirect connections, couplings, and mountings. In addition, the terms “connected” and “coupled” and variations thereof are not restricted to physical or mechanical connections or couplings.
- In addition, it should be understood that embodiments of the invention include hardware components or modules that, for purposes of discussion, may be illustrated and described as if the majority of the components were implemented solely in hardware. It should be noted that a plurality of hardware devices, as well as a plurality of different structural components may be utilized to implement the invention. Furthermore, and as described in subsequent paragraphs, the specific mechanical configurations illustrated in the drawings are intended to exemplify embodiments of the invention and that other alternative mechanical configurations are possible.
- According to some embodiments, an
ammunition loading device 10 is presently disclosed as shown inFIG. 1 . Theloading device 10 comprises anupper end 15 and alower end 20 as shown inFIG. 1 . Thelower end 20 may comprise of anapparatus 21 configured to accommodate amagazine 25 as shown inFIG. 2 . Theloading device 10 may be lightweight and portable. - According to some embodiments, the
loading device 10 may comprise alatching assembly 30 configured to prevent themagazine 25 from being removed from theapparatus 21.Apparatus 21 may comprise multiple safety features that prevent the incorrect loading of ammunition intomagazine 25.Apparatus 21 is designed such thatmagazine 25 can only be attached correctly. This design is a safety feature that prevents incorrect loading of ammunition intomagazine 25. - The
upper end 15 may connect to apparatus 21 (shown inFIG. 2 ) configured to accommodate one or more projectile rounds 40 (shown inFIG. 3 ). Theupper end 15 andapparatus 21 may comprise a second unique safety design that only allows projectile rounds to be placed insideapparatus 21 in one direction. This prevents ammunition from being loaded incorrectly intomagazine 25. Theprojectile rounds 40 may be stacked on top of each other insideapparatus 21. - Once one or
more projectile rounds 40 are positioned within theapparatus 21, a portion of a ram assist assembly 45 (shown inFIG. 4 ) may be positioned within thetop end 15. Referring toFIGS. 5-8 , applying a force to theram assist assembly 45 towards thelower end 20 in the direction shown by arrow 50 causes the projectile round(s) 40 to transition from theapparatus 21 into themagazine 25. - According to some embodiments, the
apparatus 21 is a U-shaped apparatus configured to accommodate one ormore projectile rounds 40. According to some embodiments, theapparatus 21 compromises a first channel and a second channel. According to some embodiments, the first channel is narrower than the second channel. According to some embodiments, the first channel is configured to accommodate a first portion of theprojectile round 40 and the second channel is configured to accommodate a second portion of theprojectile round 40. According to some embodiments, the first portion of theprojectile round 40 is narrower than the second portion of theprojectile round 40. - According to some embodiments, the first channel is configured to accommodate a first portion of the
ram assist assembly 45 and the second channel is configured to accommodate a second portion of theram assist assembly 45. - According to some embodiments, the first channel and the second channel are U-shaped channels.
- According to some embodiments, the
projectile rounds 40 are .223 caliber rounds of ammo or 5.56 caliber rounds of ammo. According to some embodiments, themagazine 25 is for an AR-15 rifle. It is to be understood that theammunition loading device 10 may be configured to load different caliber projectile rounds for handguns or rifles. - While several illustrative embodiments of the invention have been shown and described, numerous variations and alternative embodiments will occur to those skilled in the art. Such variations and alternative embodiments are contemplated, and can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
- As used in this specification and the appended claims, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” include plural referents unless the content clearly dictates otherwise. The term “plurality” includes two or more referents unless the content clearly dictates otherwise. Unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which the disclosure pertains.
- The foregoing detailed description of exemplary and preferred embodiments is presented for purposes of illustration and disclosure in accordance with the requirements of the law. Claims (18)
1. An ammunition loading device comprising of a magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus.
2. The ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 1 , wherein the ammunition may only be loaded into the loading apparatus in a single direction which is appropriate for the magazine.
3. The ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 1 , wherein the latch assembly connects the loading apparatus and the magazine while ammunition is loaded into the magazine.
4. The ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 1 , wherein the ram assist assembly is used to push or pull the ammunition into the magazine.
5. The ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 1 , wherein the loading apparatus may be U-shaped to accommodate additional ammunition and an additional magazine.
6. The ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 1 , wherein the loading apparatus may accommodate different calibers of ammunition.
7. A method of constructing an ammunition loading device comprising of a magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus.
8. The method of constructing the ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 7 , wherein the ammunition may only be loaded into the loading apparatus in a single direction which is appropriate for the magazine.
9. The method of constructing the ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 7 , wherein the latch assembly connects the loading apparatus and the magazine while ammunition is loaded into the magazine.
10. The method of constructing the ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 7 , wherein the ram assist assembly is used to push or pull the ammunition into the magazine.
11. The method of constructing the ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 7 , wherein the loading apparatus may be U-shaped to accommodate additional ammunition and an additional magazine.
12. The method of constructing the ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 7 , wherein the loading apparatus may accommodate different calibers of ammunition.
13. A method of using an ammunition loading device comprising of a magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus.
14. The method of using an ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 13 , wherein the ammunition may only be loaded into the loading apparatus in a single direction which is appropriate for the magazine.
15. The method of using an ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 13 , wherein the latch assembly connects the loading apparatus and the magazine while ammunition is loaded into the magazine.
16. The method of using an ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 13 , wherein the ram assist assembly is used to push or pull the ammunition into the magazine.
17. The method of using an ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 13 , wherein the loading apparatus may be U-shaped to accommodate additional ammunition and an additional magazine.
18. The method of using an ammunition loading device comprising of the magazine, ammunition, ram assist assembly, latch assembly, and loading apparatus as in claim 13 , wherein the loading apparatus may be U-shaped to accommodate additional ammunition and an additional magazine.
