    RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims priority under 35 U.S.C. ยง 119 to Indian Patent Application No. 202143057692, filed on Dec. 11, 2021, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present disclosure generally relates to the packaging industry, and more particularly, to a plus shaped packaging paper that may be adjusted as per dimensions of a product to be packed. The current patent application is patent of addition of the earlier Indian patent application with application number 201941033609.
  • BACKGROUND
  • The following description of related art is intended to provide background information pertaining to the field of the disclosure. This section may include certain aspects of the art that may be related to various features of the present disclosure. However, it should be appreciated that this section be used only to enhance the understanding of the reader with respect to the present disclosure, and not as an admission of prior art.
  • In recent times, with the advent of e-commerce, the packaging industry has gained a lot of attention. Packaging of a product is as important as the product itself. Conventionally, the product is packaged/wrapped by a bubble wrap made up of plastic material. Plastic pollution harms humans, animals, and plants, for instance toxic pollutants and chemicals released by waste plastic bags enter soil and make it infertile. Also, in e-commerce while packing a product in a bubble wrap, extra air gets captured with said product and shipped with it. Therefore, the use of plastic for packaging is not only harmful to the environment but also there are many other limitations associated with it.
  • In order to overcome such limitations various solutions have been developed in the past few years. For instance, various types of corrugated boxes are manufactured for packaging but there is a higher cost impact of the same. Furthermore, many biodegradable packaging papers are also manufactured for packaging but such existing biodegradable packaging papers have many limitations such as they are non-adjustable and fail to wrap products efficiently.
  • Accordingly, in light of the various negative impacts and other limitations of existing solutions for packaging and packing, there exists a need for packaging paper that may be adjusted as per dimensions of a product.
  • SUMMARY
  • This section is provided to introduce certain aspects of the present disclosure in a simplified form that are further described below in the detailed description. This summary is not intended to identify the key features or the scope of the claimed subject matter.
  • A first aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method of preparing a plus shaped packaging paper. The method encompasses attaching a plus shaped first flat layer of a first paper material with a plus shaped second fluted layer of a second paper material, wherein the plus shaped second fluted layer is attached to the plus shaped first flat layer to form the plus shaped paper packaging paper having a set of adjacent sides. The method thereafter encompasses creating, a set of diagonal cuts on the plus shaped paper packaging paper, wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts is present in between a corner formed by two adjacent sides of the set of adjacent sides.
  • Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to a plus shaped packaging paper. The plus shaped packaging paper includes a plus shaped first flat layer of a first paper material and a plus shaped second fluted layer of a second paper material. The plus shaped second fluted layer is attached to the plus shaped first flat layer to form the plus shaped paper packaging paper having a set of adjacent sides. Further, the plus shaped packaging paper includes a set of diagonal cuts, wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts is present in between a corner formed by two adjacent sides of the set of adjacent sides.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • In the following description, for the purposes of explanation, various specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of embodiments of the present invention. It will be apparent, however, that embodiments of the present invention may be practiced without these specific details. Several features described hereafter can each be used independently of one another or with any combination of other features. An individual feature may not address any of the problems discussed above or might address only one of the problems discussed above. Some of the problems discussed above might not be fully addressed by any of the features described herein. Example embodiments of the present invention are described below, as illustrated in various drawings in which like reference numerals refer to the same parts throughout the different drawings.
  • FIG. 1(a) shows a first flat layer [102] and a second fluted layer [104] of a packaging paper, in accordance with the concepts of the present disclosure.
  • As shown in FIG. 1(a), the packaging paper as disclosed in the present disclosure is a combination of a first flat layer [102] of a first paper material and a second fluted layer [104] of a second paper material. Particularly, the first flat layer [102] is made up of paper fibers of a material that is biodegradable, and both surfaces of the first flat layer [102] are substantially planar.
  • Further, the second fluted layer [104] is made up of a second paper material that is biodegradable in nature. Particularly, the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is made up of paper fibers of a material that is biodegradable, and at least one surface of the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is non-planar.
  • FIG. 1(b) shows a sectional view of a plus shaped packaging paper [100], in accordance with the concept of the present disclosure. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as disclosed in the present disclosure is a combination of a plus shaped first flat layer [102] of a first paper material and a plus shaped second fluted layer [104] of a second paper material.
  • The plus shaped first flat layer [102] is made up of a first paper material that is biodegradable in nature. Particularly, the plus shaped first flat layer [102] is made up of paper fibers of a material that is biodegradable, and both surfaces of the plus shaped first flat layer [102] are substantially planar. In an embodiment, the plus shaped first flat layer [102] is made up of recycled paper material, such that both surfaces of the plus shaped first flat layer [102] are substantially planar. Furthermore, the weight of the plus shaped first flat layer [102] may vary between 80 gsm to 200 gsm, but the same is not limited thereto and may vary based on various use cases.
  • Further, the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is made up of a second paper material that is also biodegradable in nature. Particularly, the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is made up of paper fibers of a material that is biodegradable, and at least one surface of the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is non-planar. In an embodiment, the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is made up of recycled paper material, such that at least one surface of the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is non-planar. Also, the weight of the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] may vary between 80 gsm to 200 gsm, but the same is not limited thereto and may vary based on various use cases.
  • Furthermore, the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100] is formed by attaching the plus shaped first flat layer [102] and the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] together. An attachment means between the plus shaped first flat layer [102] and the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] may include, such as but not limited to, an adhesive attachment means, a pressure weld attachment means, and a stapled attachment means. For example, the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] may be pasted on to the plus shaped first flat layer [102], with use of an adhesive agent thereof.
  • More specifically, the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is attached to the plus shaped first flat layer [102] to form the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100] having a set of adjacent sides. Also, the plus shaped packaging paper [100] includes a set of diagonal cuts [106] (i.e., [106 (1)] - [106 (4)] collectively referred to as [106]), where each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] is present in between a corner formed by two adjacent sides of the set of adjacent sides. Additionally, each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] includes a hole. In an example each hole has a diameter of 5 mm and each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts is of a length 25 mm, but the same is not limited thereto and may vary based on various use cases. Further, the hole provides flexibility in length.
  • The plus shaped paper packaging paper [100] further includes four sides comprising of first two opposite sides [110] (i.e., [110 (1)] and [110 (2)] collectively referred to as [110]) and second two opposite sides [112] (i.e., [112 (1)] and [112 (2)] collectively referred to as [112]), where the four sides are forming the set of adjacent sides. Each side (i.e. each of the [110 (1)] and [110 (2)) in the first two opposite sides [110] is of same dimension. In an application a height of the first two opposite sides [110] among the four sides may be 9.25 inches with a first crease [108] (i.e., [108 (1)] and [108 (2)] collectively referred to as [108]) at a height of 5 inches, wherein from a height of 1.5 inches till the height of 5 inches each of the first two opposite sides [110] further includes one or more second crease [116]. It is to be noted that the height of the first two opposite sides and positions of first and second creases are only exemplary and any height and position of the first and second creases as obvious to a person skilled in the art can be there. In an application the distance between two second creases may be 0.5 inches, but the same is not limited thereto and may vary based on various use cases. Also, in an application a width of the first two opposite sides [110] among the four sides is 13.5 inches, but the same is not limited thereto and may vary based on various use cases.
  • Furthermore, each side in the second two opposite sides [112] are of the same dimensions and a height of the second two opposite sides [112] among the four sides may be for example 7 inches with a crease [114] (i.e., [114 (1)] and [114 (2)] collectively referred to as [114]) at a height of 5 inches. It is to be noted that the height of the second two opposite sides and positions of creases are only exemplary and any height and position of creases as obvious to a person skilled in the art can be there. Also, in an application the width of the second two opposite sides [112] among the four sides may be 8.5 inches, but the same is not limited thereto and may vary based on various use cases.
  • Furthermore, the set of adjacent sides of the plus shaped packaging paper [100] comprises eight adjacent sides forming four corners.
  • Referring to FIG. 2 , there is shown a method flow diagram depicting a method [200] of preparing a plus shaped packaging paper [100], in accordance with the concepts of the present disclosure.
  • As shown in FIG. 2 , the method begins at step [202].
  • At block [204], the method comprises attaching a plus shaped first flat layer [102] of a first paper material with a plus shaped second fluted layer [104] of a second paper material, wherein the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is attached to the plus shaped first flat layer [102] to form the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100] having a set of adjacent sides.
  • Next, at step [206], the method comprises creating, a set of diagonal cuts [106] on the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100], wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] is present in between a corner formed by two adjacent sides of the set of adjacent sides. In an example, the diagonal cuts created are die punched.
  • After preparing the plus shaped packaging paper [100], the method ends at step [208].
  • As evident from the above disclosure, the present solution provides significant technical advancement over the existing solutions by designing a plus shaped packaging paper [100]. Further, the plus shaped packaging paper [100] includes diagonal cuts across all the 4 corners which helps in wrapping a product by adjusting it according to the length of paper. In addition, the plus shaped packaging paper has multiple creases so that the height of the wrap can be adjusted as per the product height without having extra air inside.
  • While considerable emphasis has been placed herein on the disclosed embodiments, it will be appreciated that many embodiments can be made and that many changes can be made to the embodiments without departing from the principles of the present disclosure. These and other changes in the embodiments of the present disclosure will be apparent to those skilled in the art, whereby it is to be understood that the foregoing descriptive matter to be implemented is illustrative and non-limiting.

Claims (10)

We claim:
1. A plus shaped packaging paper [100], including:
a plus shaped first flat layer [102] of a first paper material;
a plus shaped second fluted layer [104] of a second paper material, wherein the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is attached to the plus shaped first flat layer [102] to form the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100] having a set of adjacent sides; and
a set of diagonal cuts [106], wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] is present in between a corner formed by two adjacent sides of the set of adjacent sides.
2. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the first paper material and the second paper material is made up of a recycled paper material.
3. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the first paper material and the second paper material is biodegradable.
4. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 1, further includes four sides comprising of first two opposite sides [110] and second two opposite sides [112], wherein the four sides are forming the set of adjacent sides.
5. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 4, wherein:
each side in the first two opposite sides [110] are of same dimensions,
a height of the first two opposite sides [110] among the four sides is 9.25 inches with a first crease [108] at a height of 5 inches, wherein till the height of 5 inches each of the first two opposite sides [110] further include one or more second crease [116], and
a width of the first two opposite sides [110] among the four sides is 13.5 inches.
6. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 4, wherein:
each side in the second two opposite sides [112] are of same dimensions,
a height of the second two opposite sides [112] among the four sides is 7 inches with a crease at a height of 5 inches, and
a width of the second two opposite sides [112] among the four sides is 8.5 inches.
7. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 4, wherein the set of adjacent sides of the plus shaped packaging paper [100] comprises eight adjacent sides forming four corners.
8. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 1, wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] includes a hole having a diameter of 5 mm.
9. The plus shaped packaging paper [100] as claimed in claim 1, wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] is of a length 25 mm.
10. A method [200] of preparing a plus shaped packaging paper [100], the method [200] comprises:
attaching a plus shaped first flat layer [102] of a first paper material with a plus shaped second fluted layer [104] of a second paper material, wherein the plus shaped second fluted layer [104] is attached to the plus shaped first flat layer [102] to form the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100] having a set of adjacent sides; and
creating, a set of diagonal cuts [106] on the plus shaped paper packaging paper [100], wherein each diagonal cut from the set of diagonal cuts [106] is present in between a corner formed by two adjacent sides of the set of adjacent sides.
