CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 63/203,857, filed Aug. 2, 2021, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to lids and, more particularly, to a removably attachable lid implement.
Beauty, household, and food products, such as, for example without limitation to, laundry detergent, sauces, bath scrubs or the like, are often difficult to use without some of the product being wasted. Most, if not all current loose products on the market do not have a mechanism to get materials out of containers. This consumer must already have or purchase a utensil to do so.
Scooping, scraping and spooning of loose material is inefficient, wasteful and often non-hygienic. Traditional scoops, spatulas and spoons are often difficult to maneuver and misplaced by the consumer.
As can be seen, there is a need for a lid for such devices with an implement to remove material from the containers.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a device for removing contents from a jar comprising a lid, removably attachable to a jar, with a tool affixed to a center of an interior face of the lid, and the tool including a neck, a scoop, and a flexible tip. Scooping, scraping and spooning of loose material is inefficient, wasteful and often non-hygienic. The invention described herein minimizes waste and minimizes consumer contact with product.
A lid with fixed, permanent and removably attachable options, allows the consumer to remove product from storage containers with more precision and allows the consumer to access the entire jarred substance. The present invention permits consumer to use the entire contents of the jar and avoid waste.
Use of the present invention may provide greater convenience than conventional utensils since the utensil of the present invention may always be attached to the lid and ready to use—no need to search for the correct utensil.
These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description, and claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims with reference to the drawings.
A general overview of the various features of the invention will be provided, with a detailed description following. Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a lid, in various sizes. The lid may include an attachable implement or tool. The implement may be a scoop, spoon, and/or spatula. The present invention minimizes waste and minimizes consumer contact with a product. The implement may be universal or customizable for a particular product.
The lid may vary in size with fixed, permanent as well as removably attachable scoop, spoon and spatula options.
Aspects of the present invention may include a lid with a tool where the too may be a scoop, spatula, spoon, or scooping mechanism. The tool may have a flexible tip. The tool may detachably attach to the lid, for example by a snap/lock mechanism. The tool and lid may be unitary. The size of the tool/measurement of the scooping mechanism may vary to accommodate a size of the jar/substance in the jar. The lid/tool may accommodate/affix to each other by male and female digits. The tool and/or lid may be composed of a plastic silicone. The tool may twist and click into the lid. A neck of the tool may vary in size and length to accommodate a size of the jar/substance in the jar. The tool may be non-stick. The tool may enable smearing type applications such as paint, grout, spackle, makeup and gel. The lid may threadedly attach to a jar or attach by a friction fit.
In some embodiments, the present invention may work or function or be used in the following manner. This invention is as simple as opening a jar. The attached components work together in order to simplify how consumers gather jarred household, food and beauty products. The detachable components work together to give the consumer a variety of sizes and substances with which to use product according to the jar size. The jar lid attaches and detaches from the jar in the same manner as lids without the invention component. In some embodiments, the consumer can twist off one attachment and replace it with another.
In an exemplary embodiment, the present invention and the components thereof may be made of any suitable material, by any suitable process. Traditional manufacturing processes for jar lids, spoons, scoops and spatulas may be used. However, each lid may comprise an interlocking component as would each of the attachable elements. For the attached product, the traditional lid manufacturing may also be employed to create one seamless unit. Manufacturing could be outsourced to manufacturers who already specializes in these types of products.
The present invention may be modified aesthetically with colors and various patterns. In some embodiments, the snap-lock components may be interchangeable with other lids which will allow the invention to be used for different substances.
In some embodiments, the consumer may use the lid and its interchangeable tool based on the type of loose or liquid product they are using. For instance, if a consumer needed to use the item for say, a shower scrub, instead of using their hands in the shower and risking the whole jar being filled with shower water or dropped, they would, with this invention, being able to unscrew the container lid and scoop out the appropriate amount of shower scrub and proceed to use as needed. The same application and method of use would apply to laundry detergents, jarred tomato sauces, and a variety of other products.
There is potentiality for the consumer to unnecessarily encounter the loose product, because the lid is capable of providing easier manipulation and separation, garnering a more hygienic use of all household, beauty, craft or food substances.
The tool may include a scoop or scoop section. The scoop/scoop section may be flat, like that of a spatula, or curved, like that of a spoon.
The tool may extend from an interior face of the lid or from a center on the interior of the lid.
In summary, an exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a universal lid, of various sizes, with fixed and attachable scoop, spoon and spatula options. The invention described minimizes waste and consumer contact with their jarred product.
For clarity, only those aspects of the system germane to the invention are described, and product details well known in the art are omitted. In addition, many embodiments of the present invention have application to a wide range of industries. To the extent the present application discloses a system, the method implemented by that system is within the scope of the present invention. Further, to the extent the present application discloses a method, a system of apparatuses configured to implement the method are within the scope of the present invention.
Referring now to the Figures, FIGS. 1-3 detail a lid 10 with a tool 12 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The lid 10 may removably secure to a jar 18. The tool 12 includes a scoop 14 and a flexible tip 16.
FIGS. 4 and 5 detail an alternate embodiment of the present invention with a removably attachable tool 26. The removably attachable tool 26 removably secures to an alternate embodiment of a lid 22 by means of a female digit 24 and a male digit 28. The male digit 28 may be inserted into and twist into the female digit 24 to lock and secure the removably attachable tool 26 to the alternate embodiment of the lid 22. The removably attachable tool 26 includes an alternate embodiment of a spoon 30 and an alternate embodiment of a flexible tip 32.
It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A device for removing contents from a jar comprising:

a lid, removably attachable to a jar, with a tool affixed to a center of an interior face of the lid; and

the tool including a neck, a scoop, and a flexible tip.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the tool removably attaches to the lid.

3. The device of claim 2, wherein the tool removably attaches by a friction fit.

4. The device of claim 2, wherein the tool removably attaches by a twist and lock.

5. The device of claim 2, wherein the tool removably attaches by a male and female digit.

6. The device of claim 1, wherein the tool is a spoon.

7. The device of claim 1, wherein the tool is a spatula.
