Description
- This application is a continuation-in-part of U.S. Nonprovisional application Ser. No. 17/502,310, filed Oct. 15, 2021, which claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/092,922, filed Oct. 16, 2020. The entire disclosure of each of these related applications is hereby incorporated into this disclosure by reference.
- The disclosure relates generally to the field of watercrafts and marine environments. More particularly, the disclosure relates to systems for attaching accessories to a boat or a marine environment.
- Conventionally, boats include a pre-defined area within which passengers can be seated and/or use to travel throughout a boat. This pre-defined area can be limited in size, which reduces the total number of passengers that can be seated on the boat, the number of experiences a passenger can engage in while on the boat, and the amount of storage provided to the passengers. As a result, there is often a need for additional seating and/or storage on a boat.
- A need exists, therefore, for new and useful systems for attaching accessories to a boat.
- Various example systems for attaching accessories to a boat are described.
- An example system for attaching accessories to a boat that is moveable between a first, stored configuration and a second, expanded configuration includes a boat, a first leg frame member, a second leg frame member, an attachment device, a first support member, and a second support member. The boat has a deck. The first leg frame member has a proximal first end and a distal first end. The proximal first end is attached to the boat such that a portion of the first leg frame member is pivotable relative to the boat. The distal first end is disposed a first distance from the deck when the system is in the first, stored configuration and is disposed a second distance from the deck when the system is in the second, expanded configuration. The second distance is greater than the first distance. The second leg frame member has a proximal second end and a distal second end. The proximal second end is attached to the boat such that a portion of the second leg frame member is pivotable relative to the boat. The distal second end is disposed a third distance from the deck when the system is in the first, stored configuration and is disposed a fourth distance from the deck when the system is in the second, expanded configuration. The fourth distance is greater than the third distance. The attachment device is mounted to the first leg frame member and the second leg frame member. The first support member has a first end attached to one of the first leg frame member or the attachment device and a second end attached to one of the boat or the first leg frame member.
