Description
- The present application claims priority to, and the benefit of, U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/183,247, which was filed on May 3, 2021 and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
- The present invention relates generally to the field of dollhouses. More specifically, the present invention relates to a dollhouse integrated suitcase. The dollhouse is portable and shuts like a suitcase, enabling individuals to easily carry the dollhouse like a suitcase during trips and outings. The dollhouse includes a plurality of swing walls with each wall functioning like a portion of the dollhouse. The walls have printed backgrounds and foldable/rollable miniature furniture enabling children to play with the dollhouse. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices and methods of manufacture.
- By way of background, a dollhouse is a toy home, made in miniature. Dollhouses have primarily been the domain of children, but collection and crafting of dollhouses is also a hobby for many adults. Dollhouses are available in different forms, from ready-made and decorated houses to kits to custom built houses made to the customer's design. Miniature objects are used for decoration inside dollhouses and may include furniture, interior decorations, dolls, and items such as books, couches, furniture, wallpaper, clocks and more. However, regular dollhouses are not portable and are often too big to take on a vacation. Children who like to play with dollhouses get upset when they cannot carry their dollhouses on a trip. Individuals desire a dollhouse that is portable and can be carried outside on trips and vacations.
- Further, conventional dollhouses have miniatures that are not foldable and may get damaged when carried from one place to another. Further, such dollhouses are not compact and consume large amounts of storage space. Individuals desire a dollhouse that can be collapsed and shut like a suitcase which saves storage space and prevents the dollhouse from damage.
- Another problem with conventional dollhouses is that they provide less playing area for children. Due to the non-folding nature of heretofore known dollhouses and contents therein, the number and size of miniatures are very small. Individuals desire a dollhouse that is foldable, transportable, and provides all the necessary playing areas, such as, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, a bedroom, and more.
- Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an improved dollhouse that can be easily transported like a suitcase on a trip or an outing. There is also a long-felt need in the art for an improved dollhouse that can shut like a suitcase. Additionally, there is a long-felt need in the art for a dollhouse that is compact and occupies small storage space. Moreover, there is a long-felt need in the art for a modified dollhouse that offers playing areas, such as, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, a bedroom, and more to children. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for a modified dollhouse that is integrated inside a lightweight and durable suitcase. Finally, there is a long-felt need in the art for a dollhouse that offers convenience and portability by providing printed scenes and foldable and rollable miniatures.
- The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a portable suitcase dollhouse. The dollhouse is integrated inside a suitcase and can be shut to form the suitcase for convenience and portability. The portable suitcase dollhouse further comprising three built-in (i.e. interior) swing walls ; a central hinged pivot bar along which the walls swing, each built-in swing wall is hinged to said central hinged pivot bar along a longitudinal edge; a first swing wall is configured as a bedroom having a printed background and a pulldown bed attached to a rotating rod on a first side and a living room on a second side; a second swing wall is configured as a living room having a decorative background, a printed table and a printed couch (or a 3D assembled table and couch) on a first side and a kitchen/exterior surface on a second side; and at least a pair of walls include a handle and a clasp on a trailing free edge; and, wherein the clasps are hooked together to shut the dollhouse as a suitcase.
- In this manner, the novel dollhouse of the present invention accomplishes all of the foregoing objectives and provides users with a suitcase with an integrated portable dollhouse that can provide four play rooms, such as, a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and more. The dollhouse enables users to choose from several different themes for boys and girls, such as a military theme, and offers convenience and portability through a lightweight, secure, and durable suitcase.
- The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

The first interior wall can pivot towards the second interior wall such that first surface of the first wall adheres to the first surface of the second wall. The first interior wall and the second interior wall can pivot towards the third interior wall such that the opposing surface of the second interior wall adheres to the first surface of the third interior wall, thereby visually exposing the first surface of the first exterior wall and the second surface of the second exterior wall. The exterior walls can include mating clasps and handles for closing and carrying the dollhouse.
-
FIG. 2 illustrates a detailed view of the bedroom of the dollhouse integrated inside a suitcase in accordance with the disclosed architecture.
