  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to suspenders and more particularly to a construction suspender system as used to improve the usability of personal electronics for occupational fields that lack accessibility to recharging options and improve convenience in use of personal electronics.
  • Generally, the construction suspender system includes a length-adjustable suspender garment having a flexible solar panel for powering and battery charging of personal electronics such as smartphones, which can be stored by and accessed from the suspender garment. The suspender garment includes an integrated weather-resistant solar panel, in-ear headphones, functional pouches for the headphones, a functional phone-holding pouch, an electronic-device charging cable and Bluetooth® (or similar) technology. The solar panel and charging cable provide continuous renewable energy for charging the electronic device being used with the suspender garment. The solar panel is flexible and weather resistant. As construction workers typically work outside the solar panel will regularly be exposed to sun light. The construction suspender system may feature various devices for attachment to a tool belt or pants, such as but not limited to various clips, buttons, and clamps.
  • The construction suspender system can be made with or without Bluetooth® capabilities. The in-ear headphones of the construction suspender system can be on retractable cords or loose cords. In variations with loose cords, the construction suspender system may or may not feature storage pouches for said loose cords on its front straps. The construction suspender system may also be made in variations that include no in-ear headphones.
  • The construction suspender system can be made to accommodate various sized electronic devices, to include but not limited to smartphones and tablets. In variations that accommodate tablets the construction suspender system may include a water-resistant pouch for storage of the tablet and may feature a clear front panel. The construction suspender system may be made in multiple sizes, and can be made of various applicable materials. The construction suspender system can be made in X-back, Y-back, and H-back styles of construction suspenders. The construction suspender system may also be made in variations that include a closed back of various sizes, and to accommodate multiple solar panels on this closed back. In such latter variation, the closed back may be made of various applicable materials.
  • The construction suspender system may be worn by a user, who may then insert his or her smartphone into the phone holding pouch. Should the user wish to use a music program of the smartphone, he or she can apply the in-ear headphones, and the Bluetooth® function of the device will allow wireless transmission of the music from the smartphone to the headphones. These in-ear headphones can also be used for telephone calls from the smartphone. Despite its regular battery drain from this use, as well as use in sending and viewing messages and documents, the smartphone can be recharged by connection of the charging cable that runs from the solar panel power source and into the phone holding pouch.
  • Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in FIGS. 1-8, various views of a construction suspender system 100.
  • FIG. 1 shows a construction suspender system 100, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As illustrated, the construction suspender system 100 may include a suspender garment 110 including a body 111 having a first-length adjustable front strap 112, a second-length adjustable front strap 120, a back panel, a first-rear strap 136 having a first-rear-fastener 138, a second-rear strap 140 having a second-rear-fastener 142, and a phone holding pouch 146. The first-length adjustable front strap 112 includes a first-fastener 114 and a first-headphone pouch 116. The second-length adjustable front strap 120 includes a second-fastener 122 and a second-headphone pouch 124. The suspender garment 110 further includes a chest strap 168. The first-fastener 114, second-fastener 122, first-rear-fastener 138, and second-rear-fastener 142 each comprise a releasable fastener such as but not limited to a spring-loaded clip. Each spring-loaded clip is positioned at an end-portion of a respective strap of the suspender garment 110. In a preferred embodiment, the back panel 128 comprises a solar panel power source 130 in communication with a charging cable 132 configured to deliver power to at least one electronic device 10. The phone holding pouch 146 provides storage for the at least one electronic device 10.
  • FIGS. 2-3 show the construction suspender system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the construction suspender system 100 may include the solar panel power source 130 in communication with a charging cable 132 configured to deliver continuous renewable energy to charge at least one electronic device 10. In a preferred embodiment, the solar panel power source 130 is positioned on an exterior surface 126 of the back panel 128. In other versions, the construction suspender system 100 may feature solar panels on various areas. The solar panel power source 130 comprises a flexible solar panel having a waterproof coating 170. The flexible solar panel measures approximately eight inches in length by six inches in width in a preferred version. The construction suspender system may include direct wiring from the solar panel power source 130 to the phone holding pouch 146, ending in a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector, to allow direct connection for recharging of a smartphone. In such variations, the wiring may be loose or may be contained in the suspender garment 110. In yet another embodiment, the phone holding pouch 146 of the construction suspender system may feature an insulated induction coil to allow wireless inductive charging of at least one electronic device 10.
  • FIG. 4 is a top perspective view of the construction suspender system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The suspender garment 110 comprises a cushioned, wicking material 129 along an inner surface 127 of the back panel 128. The chest strap 168 is length adjustable and includes a buckle type fastener or other suitable fastening means. As further illustrated in FIG. 5, the first-headphone pouch 116 and the second-headphone pouch 124 each comprise a resealable flap 117. The resealable flap 117 may include VELCRO® (hook and loop) or other suitable coupling means for sealing the first-headphone pouch 116 and the second-headphone pouch 124. The first-headphone pouch 116 and the second-headphone pouch 124 are effectively waterproof and are each configured to host a headphone 160. The headphones 160 comprise in-ear headphones and may be withdrawn from the first-headphone pouch 116 and the second-headphone pouch 124 respectively. The suspender garment 110 includes wireless connection capabilities. The in-ear headphones are in wireless communication with the at least one electronic device 10 allowing audio to be broadcasted from the at least one electronic device 10. The wireless connection capabilities of the construction suspender system allows the in-ear headphones to receive wireless input from a smartphone or other device. The first-headphone pouch 116 and the second-headphone pouch 124 each comprise a spring-loaded coil 125 configured to host a cable portion 162 of each of the in-ear headphones.
  • FIGS. 6-7 are perspective views of the phone holding pouch 146 of the construction suspender system 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The phone holding pouch 146 comprises an aperture 147. The aperture 147 receives a user-accessible end of the charging cable 132 configured to deliver power to the at least one electronic device 10. The charging cable 132 is retractable. As shown, the phone holding pouch 146 comprises a pouch-flap 148 including a fastener 149 such as but not limited to mating hook-and-loop fastener strips. The pouch-flap 148 of the phone holding pouch 146 of the construction suspender system prevents accidental loss of, fall of, and damage to devices hosted within the phone holding pouch 146.
  • FIG. 8 shows a construction suspender system 100 during an ‘in-use’ condition 150, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Here, the construction suspender system 100 may be beneficial for use by a user 40 to store and charge at least one electronic device 10. In a most preferred embodiment, suspender garment 110 is preferably made of waterproof woven nylon. The first-length adjustable front strap 112, the second-length adjustable front strap 120, the first-rear strap 136, and the second-rear strap 140 comprise a width of approximately two-inches. The phone holding pouch 146 may be sewn upon either the first-length adjustable front strap 112 or the second-length adjustable front strap 120.
