Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Fields of the invention
  • The present invention relates to an arrow feeding device for crossbows, and more particularly, to an arrow feeding device that positions every arrow at desired position.
  • 2. Descriptions of Related Art
  • The tools used in archery are bows and arrows, and bows are divided into gun-shaped crossbows and half-moon bows. The common archery is to load the arrow, and then to aim and shoot. After each shoot, the user picks another arrow from the arrow bag, and proceed the above steps again. It is difficult for beginners to draw and to aim. Usually, it is easy to lose the sight when aiming again after shooting. Therefore, a feeding device is developed that multiple arrows can be placed into the device so that the user can shoot the arrows without doing the steps completely again. However, the arrows in the feeding device are loaded randomly, therefore, not every arrow is loaded at desired position. The arrows that are not positioned properly cannot precisely reach the target.
  • The present invention intends to provide an arrow feeding device that include ribs to precisely position the arrows so as to eliminate the shortcomings mentioned above.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an arrow feeding device for crossbows, and the feeding device positions the arrow in the feeding part so as to provide stable arrows feeding features to improve continuously shooting. The arrow feeding device of the present invention comprises a feeding part having a front end and a rear end. The front end of the feeding part is located corresponding to the head of an arrow, and the rear end of the feeding part is located corresponding to the tail of an arrow. A path is defined through the feeding part and communicates with the top end and the bottom end of the feeding part. The path is defined by two sidewalls and each sidewall of the path includes a rib extending therefrom. The two ribs are located close to the rear end of the feeding part. The arrow includes two grooves defined in the tail thereof. The two ribs of the path of the feeding part are received in the two grooves of the arrow so as to restrict shifting of the arrow in the path.
  • The present invention provides a second embodiment of the arrow feeding device for crossbows, and comprises a feeing part that has a front end, a rear end, a top end and a bottom end. The front end is located opposite to the rear end. The top end is located opposite to the bottom end. A path is defined through the feeding part and communicates with the top end and the bottom end of the feeding part. The path is defined by two sidewalls and each sidewall of the path includes a rib extending therefrom. The two ribs are located close to the rear end of the feeding part. The two ribs of the path of the feeding part position the arrow in the path and restrict shifting of the arrow in the path.
  • The present invention provides a third embodiment, wherein the arrow feeding device is connected to a crossbow, and the crossbow includes a slot in the top portion thereof. The arrow feeding device comprises a feeding part having a front end and a rear end. The front end of the feeding part is located corresponding to the head of an arrow. The rear end of the feeding part is located corresponding to the tail of the arrow. A path is defined through the feeding part and communicates with a top end and a bottom end of the feeding part. The path communicates with the slot of the crossbow. The arrow drops into the slot via the path.

  • FIG. 10 is an enlarged and cross sectional view, taken along line X-X in FIG. 6.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 to 10, the arrow feeding device of the present invention comprises a feeding part 10 having a front end 101, a rear end 102, a top end 103 and a bottom end 104. The front end 101 is located opposite to the rear end 102, and the top end 103 is located opposite to the bottom end 104. A path 20 is defined through the feeding part 10 and communicates with the top end 103 and the bottom end 104 of the feeding part 10. The path 20 is defined by two sidewalls and each sidewall of the path 20 includes a rib 201 extending therefrom. The two ribs 201 are located close to the rear end 102 of the feeding part 10. The front end 101 of the feeding part 10 is located corresponding to a head 301 of an arrow 30, and the rear end 102 of the feeding part 10 located corresponding to a tail 302 of the arrow 30 when the arrow 30 is located in the path 20. The arrow 30 includes two grooves 303 defined in the tail 302 thereof. The two ribs 201 of the path 20 of the feeding part 10 are received in the two grooves 303 of the arrow 30 so as to restrict shifting of the arrow 30 in the path 20. The alignment of the ribs 201 and the grooves 303 avoid from installing the arrows 30 into the path 20 in wrong direction.
  • As shown in FIGS. 4, 6, 8 to 10, because the two ribs 201 of each of the path 20 of the feeding part 10 are received in the two grooves 303 of the arrow 30, so that the arrows 30 are not moved in the path 20. The arrow feeding device is connected to a crossbow 40 which includes a slot 401 in the top portion thereof. The slot 401 communicates with the path 20 of the feeding part 10. Therefore, the lowest arrow 30 in the feeding part 10 will drop into the slot 401 and to be shot. Due to that the two ribs 201 of each of the path 20 of the feeding part 10 are received in the two grooves 303 of the arrow 30, the arrows 30 drop into the slot 401 one by one to the identical position. The arrows 30 are shot under the identical status so as to have a desired shooting result.
  • As shown in FIG. 3, a top opening 202 is defined through the top end 103 of the feeding part 10, and a bottom opening 203 is defined through the bottom end 104 of the feeding part 10. The top opening 202 and the bottom opening 203 communicate with the path 20. The arrows 30 are loaded into the path 20 via the top opening 202. The arrows 30 are horizontally loaded into the path 20, and the grooves 303 are aligned with the ribs 201 so that the arrows 30 reach the bottom end 104 as shown in FIGS. 5 to 10.
  • Each sidewall of the path 20 includes a ridge 204 extending therefrom. The two ridges 204 are located corresponding to each other. Each ridge 204 includes an end face that contacts the arrow 30 in the path 20. The number of the ridges 204 can be multiple so as to form multiple sections in the path 20 to ensure that the arrows 30 are positioned without shifting laterally in the path 20. Therefore, the arrows 30 are not tilt in the path 20 as shown in FIG. 7.
  • Each rib 201 is a semi-circular and elongate rib which extends from the top opening 202 to the bottom opening 203 of the path 20. Each groove 303 of the arrow 30 is shaped to accommodate the rib 201 therein so that when loading the arrows 30, the arrows 30 are smoothly loaded in the path 20 as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.
  • While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
