  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 9 thereof, a new bedding device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 9, the air mattress bedding apparatus 10 generally comprises a bottom sheet 12 comprising a bottom base panel 14 having a bottom base foot edge 16, a bottom base head edge 18, a bottom base left edge 20, and a bottom base right edge 22. A bottom left side panel 24 is coupled to the bottom base panel 14. The bottom left side panel 24 is coupled to the bottom base left edge 20. A bottom right side panel 26 is coupled to the bottom base panel 14. The bottom right side panel 26 is coupled to the bottom base right edge 22. A bottom foot panel 28 is coupled to the bottom base panel 14. The bottom foot panel 28 is coupled to the bottom base foot edge 16. The bottom foot panel 28 has a left foot panel wing 30 and a right foot panel wing 32. The bottom foot panel 28 may have a pump aperture 34 configured to receive a pump 36 of an air mattress 38.
  • The bottom sheet 12 is configured to fit and fold onto the air mattress 38 as shown in FIG. 4. The pump aperture 34 may accommodate the pump 36 when integrated into the air mattress 38 as seen in FIG. 4 but may also accommodate the pump 36 when external and coupling to a fill valve. The pump aperture 34 allows for filling and deflation of the air mattress 38 without removing the apparatus 10.
  • A plurality of bottom engagement members 40 is coupled to the bottom left side panel 24, the bottom right side panel 26, the left foot panel wing 30, and the right foot panel wing 32. The bottom engagement members 40 of the left foot panel wing 30 and the right foot panel wing 32 are selectively engageable with the bottom engagement members 40 of the bottom left side panel 24 and the bottom right side panel 26, respectively, as shown in FIG. 9. The bottom engagement members 40 coupled to the bottom left side panel 24 and the bottom right side panel 26 may be arranged in a pair of inner rows 42 and a pair of outer rows 44 to accommodate different height air mattresses 38 as shown in FIGS. 5 and 9.
  • A top sheet 46 comprises a top base panel 48 having a top base foot edge 50, a top base head edge 52, a top base left edge 54, and a top base right edge 56. A sleeping bag 58 may be coupled to the top base panel 48. The sleeping bag 58 is continuously coupled to the top base panel 48 and has a zippered access opening 60. A top left side panel 62 is coupled to the top base left edge 54. A top right side panel 64 is coupled to the top base right edge 56. A pair of top foot tabs 66 is coupled to the top base foot edge 50. The pair of top foot tabs 66 is lifted during installation (as shown in FIG. 5) and then folded over the bottom foot panel 28 (as shown in FIGS. 6 and 9).
  • A plurality of top engagement members 68 is coupled to the top left side panel 62, the top right side panel 64, and the pair of top foot tabs 66. The top engagement members 68 are selectively engageable with the bottom engagement members 40 to secure the top sheet 46 to the bottom sheet 12. The top sheet 46 and the bottom sheet 12 are configured to fit the air mattress 38 snuggly to prevent disengagement during use.
  • A back strap 70 has a plurality of strap engagement members 72 coupled proximal a strap left end 74 and a strap right end 76. The plurality of strap engagement members 72 is selectively engageable with the bottom engagement members 40 of the bottom left side panel 24 and the bottom right side panel 26 as shown in FIG. 7.
  • A blanket 78 has a blanket base panel 80, a blanket left side panel 82, a blanket right side panel 84, and a blanket foot panel 86. The blanket 78 has a plurality of blanket engagement members 88 coupled to the blanket foot panel 86 and the blanket left side panel 82 and the blanket right side panel 84 proximal the blanket foot panel 86 to selectively engage the plurality of bottom engagement members 40 and partially fix the blanket 78 to the bottom sheet 12.
  • A comforter 90 has a comforter base panel 92, a comforter left side panel 94, a comforter right side panel 96, and a comforter foot panel 98. The comforter 90 has a plurality of comforter engagement members 100 coupled to the comforter foot panel 98 and the comforter left side panel 94 and the comforter right side panel 96 proximal the comforter foot panel 98 to selectively engage the plurality of bottom engagement members 40 and partially fix the comforter 90 to the bottom sheet 12 on top of the blanket 78.
  • The plurality of top engagement members 68, the plurality of bottom engagement members 40, the plurality of strap engagement members 72, the plurality of blanket engagement members 88, and the plurality of comforter engagement members 100 may be selectively engageable fasteners such as, but not limited to, buttons and button holes, hook-and-loop fasteners, snaps, and the like.
  • In use, the air mattress 38 is placed on top of the bottom sheet 12. The bottom left side panel 24 and the bottom right side panel 26 are folded up and the top sheet 46 is placed on the air mattress 38. The top left side panel 62 and the top right side panel 64 are engaged with the bottom left side panel 24 and the bottom right side panel 26 before the bottom foot panel 28 is folded up. The blanket 78 and the comforter 90 are then engaged if desired.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
