Definitions
- the present specification relates generally to vest, and more specifically relates to a utility training flotation vest for sling band resistance training and/or flotation tool assisting a user in water activities such as swimming.
- the present invention relates to resistance in conjunction with flexibility, strength, endurance, and more particularly to stretch shortening cycle via sling bands with or without additional weight to the body
- Resistance training consist of muscle to contract during a set of movement, such as eccentric, concentric and/or isometric. These three phases increase strength, endurance, toning and increasing stamina with or without weighted objects.
- the goal for high intensity interval training and full body exercises wherein to strengthen the prime movers in the body and burn calories in a short amount of time targets cardiovascular training, endurance and activating more muscle groups to stimulate the nervous system.
- weight is added to the initial body weight, generating force to gravity to ground contact wherein plyometric training is implemented.
- the majority of sport specific training incorporates compound movement exercises in a single workout, translating those movements to a competition.
- An example is a countermovement jump to increase the height of a basketball player's jump in a competition.
- Resistance in between limbs, specifically to assisted tools around knees and ankles targets the abductors and iliotibial band (IT band) wherein is overlooked. Also, resistance tools in between the limbs activates prime movers prior to physical activities.
- the arm action will not fully extend in front and behind when running.
- Corrective exercise techniques can incorporate assisted tools to improve a dysfunction in the body, such as knee valgus, wherein is also known as knocked knee.
- Knee valgus develops at a young age and/or impact to the area around the knees.
- To improve knee valgus strengthening the hips, gluteal maximus, minimus and quadriceps femoris muscle.
- assisted resistance may be recommended at an early stage to recovery, with a medical professional approval.

Abstract
Described is a utility training flotation vest designed for physical and leisure activities such as strength training, cardiovascular training, water activities, posture assistance, body building competitions and hiking. This invention is comprised of one or more connector strap to assemble and/or disassemble, sling band, chambers, storage compartment, loop, fastener, working strap, compressed lining, mesh and optional attachments, preferably to limb straps. The sling band comprising of at least one adjustable working strap to adjust the customized strength and/or length wherein can expand and return to the original length. The chambers and compartment are designed to comprise the sling bag and/or weighted objects.
Description
- The present specification relates generally to vest, and more specifically relates to a utility training flotation vest for sling band resistance training and/or flotation tool assisting a user in water activities such as swimming.
- The present invention relates to resistance in conjunction with flexibility, strength, endurance, and more particularly to stretch shortening cycle via sling bands with or without additional weight to the body
- Resistance training consist of muscle to contract during a set of movement, such as eccentric, concentric and/or isometric. These three phases increase strength, endurance, toning and increasing stamina with or without weighted objects.
- Many fitness professionals and enthusiasts carry around multiple training tools for strength training, cardiovascular and mobility training, such as resistance bands and mini bands, ranging in high to low strength resistance in the band. This is effective for the general population, however, inconvenient for travelers and the elderly.
- The goal for high intensity interval training and full body exercises wherein to strengthen the prime movers in the body and burn calories in a short amount of time targets cardiovascular training, endurance and activating more muscle groups to stimulate the nervous system. To place the body under greater demand, weight is added to the initial body weight, generating force to gravity to ground contact wherein plyometric training is implemented.
- The majority of sport specific training incorporates compound movement exercises in a single workout, translating those movements to a competition. An example is a countermovement jump to increase the height of a basketball player's jump in a competition.
- Resistance in between limbs, specifically to assisted tools around knees and ankles targets the abductors and iliotibial band (IT band) wherein is overlooked. Also, resistance tools in between the limbs activates prime movers prior to physical activities.
- Running mechanics in the general population lack due to a dysfunction around the body. Example, if the user has weak shoulders, the arm action will not fully extend in front and behind when running. Another example of a user with tight hip flexors, causing restricted flexion and extension in the lower limb while running. To improve these dysfunctions, assisted tools can be implemented.
- Corrective exercise techniques can incorporate assisted tools to improve a dysfunction in the body, such as knee valgus, wherein is also known as knocked knee. Knee valgus develops at a young age and/or impact to the area around the knees. To improve knee valgus, strengthening the hips, gluteal maximus, medius and minimus and quadriceps femoris muscle. To strengthen these muscles groups, assisted resistance may be recommended at an early stage to recovery, with a medical professional approval.
- There is a significant population with acute and/or chronic lower back pain. The pain starts at the thoracic spine to lumbar discs, resulting pinching sensation via sciatic nerve. This is common for people with desk jobs, lacking flexibility and movement throughout the day. Simple strengthening and flexibility exercises with assisted tools from one limb to another focusing on specific exercises targeting the underactive muscles in the lower back such as, connected to the knees and or ankles, exercises such as, minimal resistance squat, glute kickbacks, glute bridge, split squat fanny lifter, isolation hip flexion and extension, not limiting to advanced or beginner's exercises.
- It is to be understood while the utility training vest has been depicted as a vest to fit the user's upper body in a closed configuration, providing substantially expansion via compressed lining and mesh to be viewed as a flotation tools, and in other embodiments, the utility training vest will be less structured. In some embodiments, the utility training vest may include cosmetic appearance such as animations and/or military designs such as molle attachments.
- The utility training flotation vest is designed for full body resistance exercises and activities, comprising of at least one sling band, pouch and weighted object chamber, storage compartment, fixed and moveable loops around the perimeter of the utility training vest.
- To use the sling bands, release the fastener, releasing the sling bands to the desired area. For convenient usage, the sling bands are fixed underneath the enclosure of the chambers, for easy access to use and put away without misplacing. The user has the option to use the hook at the end of the sling band to an object, not related to the utility training vest, for additional resistance.
- In some embodiments, the utility training flotation vest has at least one fixed loop along with at least one movable loop around the perimeter of the utility training vest. Example, attaching the utility training vest to a bulldozer via connection strap for body building competitions.
- Each sling band is provided with an adjustable working strap to adjust the length for the desired size or strength. Example, an advance user can increase the strength via pulling and tightening the adjustable working strap.
- In some embodiments, the utility training flotation vest consist of at least one fastener around the perimeter to adjust the user's proportion for physical activities on land or water. Additionally, customizing the length via adjustable working strap and/or fastener, can assist with posture correction wherein the front and rear can be pulled in an upright position. The compress lining prevents any discomfort when adjusting to the maximum length.
- In some embodiments, the utility training flotation vest has at least one storage compartment for personal items wherein can be occupied for additional weighted storage.
- The outer layer fabric of the utility training flotation vest comprises of at least one layer of nylon and/or polyester. The interior and exterior coating of the utility training flotation vest is comprised of polyvinyl chloride and/or similar fabric resulting for liquid proof.
- It is to be understood the utility training flotation vest shall contain minimal to no additional weight when using as a flotation tool.
- It is to be understood the utility training flotation vest in a closed configuration can be viewed as weighted and military vest and/or flotation tool.
- The utility training flotation vest can adjust to the user's proportion via adjustable working straps, although different sizes and similar structures may be retailed.
