Abstract

Magnetic screen covers are described. Some implementations include a magnetic screen cover comprising one or more magnets and a screen incorporated with one or more magnets. In some implementations, the one or more magnets are incorporated along a perimeter of the screen. In some other implementations, the one or magnets are incorporated along grid lines of the screen. In some additional implementations, the one or magnets are incorporated throughout the screen.

    RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/138,356, filed on Jan. 15, 2021, and entitled “MAGNETIC SCREEN COVER,” which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • FIELD
  • Some implementations relate generally to magnetic screen covers, and, more particularly, to magnetic screen covers that can be installed over vents, e.g., vents of structures or appliances.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Vents in appliances or structures may be channels for insects and bugs to find way into the appliance or the structure. Such insect or bug infestation may lead to unsanitary conditions.
  • It may be desirable to provide a cover for such vents that prevents insects or bugs from entering through these vents into the structure or appliance that the vents are part of. Further, it may be desirable to provide a mechanism in the covers to easily install the covers over the vents.
  • Embodiments were conceived in light of the above-mentioned problems and limitations, among other things.   • SUMMARY
  • Some implementations can include a magnetic screen cover comprising one or more magnets and a screen, wherein the one or more magnets are incorporated into a perimeter of the screen. In some implementations, the one or more magnets can be flush with a surface of the perimeter of the screen. In some implementations, the screen and the one or more magnets can form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments. In some implementations, the screen can be made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
  • Some implementations can include a magnetic screen cover comprising one or more magnets and a screen, wherein the one or more magnets are incorporated into a cross-section of the screen. In some implementations, the one or more magnets can be flush with a surface of the cross-section of the screen. In some implementations, the screen and the one or more magnets can form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments. In some implementations, the screen can be made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
  • Some implementations can include a magnetic screen cover comprising one or more magnets and a screen, wherein the one or more magnets are incorporated throughout the screen at regular intervals. In some implementations, the screen and the one or more magnets can form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments. In some implementations, the screen can be made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
  • Some implementations can include magnets on the perimeter and the cross-section of the screen. Some implementations can further include magnets along the grid lines of the screen.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Some implementations can include a magnetic screen cover that is configured to be installed over the vents of a window air conditioning unit to prevent unwanted debris (e.g., insects, leaves) from entering through the vents of the window air conditioning unit.
  • In some implementations, a magnetic screen cover is configured to be installed over the vents of a large air conditioning unit (e.g., central air conditioning unit) to prevent unwanted debris (e.g., insects, leaves) from entering through the vents of the central air conditioning unit.
  • In some implementations, a magnetic screen cover is configured to be installed over the vents inside a home (e.g., supply and return vent) to prevent unwanted debris from entering into the duct system of air conditioning system.
  • FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an example magnetic screen cover with magnets included around a perimeter or an edge of the screen in accordance with some implementations. In FIG. 1, the magnetic screen cover 100 has a screen 104 with a perimeter or an edge 102. FIG. 1 shows magnets 106 incorporated (or disposed along or coupled to the screen) around the perimeter or edge 102 of the magnetic screen cover 100. In some implementations, a single piece or strip of magnet may form the edge or the perimeter. In some implementations, each side of the edge or perimeter may comprise a single strip of magnet. In some implementations, the strip of magnet may be flexible, pliable, tearable, and adjustable.
  • FIG. 2 is a diagram showing an example window air conditioning unit having vents. In FIG. 2, the example window air conditioning unit 200 has vents 204 throughout a frame 202.
  • FIG. 3 is a diagram of the example window air conditioning unit with magnetic screen covers installed over the vents of the example window air conditioning unit in accordance with some implementations. In FIG. 3, a magnetic screen covered air conditioning unit 300 includes two screens 104, incorporated with magnets 106, installed over the vents 204 of the frame 202.
  • FIG. 4 is a diagram of an example magnetic screen cover that includes a magnetic grid and that is configured to be cut to a size and a shape in accordance with some implementations. In FIG. 4, the magnetic screen cover 400 has a screen 406 with magnets 404 incorporated in the shape of a grid across the length and the breadth of the screen 406. FIG. 4 also shows a scissor 402 that can be used to cut a piece of a desired shape and size by cutting across the dashed line 408. In FIG. 4, cutting the magnetic screen cover 400 across the dashed line 408 will result in two magnetic screen sections—a rectangular section and an L-shaped section of the screen 406.
  • FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a cut to size and shape magnetic screen cover and an uncut magnetic screen cover installed over the vents of an example window air conditioning unit in accordance with some implementations. In FIG. 5, a magnetic screen covered air conditioning unit 500 includes two sections incorporated with magnets installed over vents 504 and 512 of a frame 502. In FIG. 5, the first magnetic screen cover 506 is an L-shaped magnetic screen cover installed over the vents 504, leaving the portion of the frame 502 without vents 508 uncovered. FIG. 5 also shows a rectangular magnetic screen cover 510 covering vents 512 of the frame 504.
  • In some implementations the screen and magnets form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments. In some implementations, the screen is made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material. In some implementations, the magnets form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments. In some implementations, strips of magnets may be used. In some implementations, the strips of magnets may be flexible, pliable, tearable, or adjustable.
  • Some implementations include a magnetic screen cover comprising one or more magnets and a screen, wherein the one or more magnets are incorporated into a perimeter of the screen.   • Some implementations include magnets on both the perimeter and the cross-section of the screen. Some implementations include magnets along the grid lines of the screen—these magnets can be included in addition to the magnets on the perimeter and/or the cross-section of a screen.
  • In some implementations, the magnets are made of one or more of natural or synthetic magnetic material. In some implementations, the magnets can be of different shapes and sizes. For example, the magnets can have square, rectangular, oval, circular, or trapezoidal shapes. In some implementations, the screen is made of porous material and/or has one or more holes of a size that does not allow insects or bugs to pass through. For example, the screen has a mesh-type construction to let air in/out. In some implementations, the mesh is pliable, foldable, or tearable. In some implementations, the magnets form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments. In some implementations, strips of magnets may be used. In some implementations, the strips of magnets may be flexible, pliable, tearable, or adjustable. In some implementations, the screen is made of a flexible/pliable/tearable magnetic material.
  • In some implementations, the screen material itself is made of magnets, magnetic material, or magnetized material.
  • While some example implementations have been described in terms of a general embodiment with several specific example modifications, it is recognized that other modifications, implementations, and variations of the embodiments described above are within the spirit and scope of the disclosed subject matter. Applicant intends to embrace any and all such modifications, variations, embodiments, and implementations.

Claims (13)

What is claimed is:
1. A magnetic screen cover comprising:
one or more magnets; and
a screen, wherein the one or more magnets are incorporated into a perimeter of the screen.
2. The magnetic screen cover of claim 1, wherein the screen and the one or more magnets form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments.
3. The magnetic screen cover of claim 1, wherein the screen is made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
4. The magnetic screen cover of claim 1, wherein the one or more magnets are flush with a surface of the perimeter of the screen.
5. A magnetic screen cover comprising:
one or more magnets; and
a screen, wherein the one or more magnets are incorporated into a cross-section of the screen.
6. The magnetic screen cover of claim 5, wherein the screen and the one or more magnets form a single integrated unit without one or more joints, interfaces, connections, or attachments.
7. The magnetic screen cover of claim 5, wherein the screen is made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
8. The magnetic screen cover of claim 5, wherein the one or more magnets are flush with a surface of the cross-section of the screen.
9. A magnetic screen cover comprising:
a screen, wherein the screen is made up of individual strands, wherein the individual strands are incorporated into a cross-section forming a screen.
10. The magnetic screen cover of claim 9, wherein the individual strands are made of a magnet material.
11. The magnetic screen cover of claim 9, wherein one or more of the individual strands are made of a magnet material, wherein one or more of the individual strands are made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
12. The magnetic screen cover of claim 9, wherein one or more of the individual strands are made of a magnet material.
13. The magnetic screen cover of claim 9, wherein the screen is made of one or more of plastic, metal, stone, wood, natural, synthetic, or composite material.
