Description
- The present application is related to and claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63/109,179 filed Nov. 3, 2020, which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.
- The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
- The present invention relates generally to the field of exercise equipment of existing art and more specifically relates to a convertible multi-use exercise system.
- With a growing focus on health and fitness in society, there are more and more people choosing to incorporate exercise into their daily routines. Due to time constraints and preferences, a lot of people choose to work out from home. Unfortunately, having to purchase a variety of exercise equipment for a home gym is a big investment. Further to this, current home gym systems are not practical as they take up a great deal of space and are not portable.
- A wide range of plyometric exercises can be performed with a plyometric box which takes up little space, however there are many exercises that are not suitable for plyometric boxes and instead are better suited to exercise benches. However, exercise benches tend to be bulky, hard to move, and unattractive. Thus, a need exists for a reliable solution to avoid the above-mentioned problems.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known exercise equipment art, the present disclosure provides a novel multi-use exercise system. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide an exercise system that is convertible between an exercise box and an exercise bench and provides a main apparatus and one or more auxiliary apparatus for performing a variety of exercises.
- An exercise system is disclosed herein. The exercise system includes at least a main apparatus including a main body, a platform and at least one accessory fastener. The main body may include at least a base panel, two opposing side panels, a rear panel, a front panel, and a top panel. The front panel may be pivotably connected to the main body such that front panel is pivotable between a front panel position and a footrest position. The top panel may be pivotably connected to the main body such that the top panel is pivotable between a top panel position and a backrest position.
- The platform may be located about a top of the main body and located relative to the top panel such that the top panel substantially covers the platform when in the top panel position and aids in use of the platform when in the backrest position. When the top panel is in the backrest position, the platform and the top panel together may define an exercise bench, and when the top panel is in the top panel position and the front panel is in the front panel position, the exercise apparatus may define an exercise box. The at least one accessory fastener may be attached to at least one of the base panel, the front panel and the top panel. The at least one accessory fastener may be configured to fasten at least one exercise accessory to the main body.
- According to another embodiment, a method of using an exercise system is also disclosed herein. The method includes providing the exercise system as above; selectively attaching at least one exercise accessory to the main body via the at least one accessory fastener; and performing exercise on the main apparatus with the front panel in one of the front panel position and the footrest position and the top panel in one of the top panel position and the backrest position.
- For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
