Abstract

A card and token game apparatus for entertainment includes comprising a plurality of playing cards including at least two decks of playing cards. There is a plurality of colored tokens and a plurality of score sheets. Each score sheet has a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. The card and token game apparatus is played by distributing the playing card and the colored tokens to each player and then drawing cards to create sets of identical cards. Once one player has put all of his or her cards into sets the game is over.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

The disclosure relates to card game devices and more particularly pertains to a new card game device for entertainment.

(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

The prior art relates to card game devices. Known devices typically employ use with either only playing cards or with cards and a playing board. Such devices do not allow for certain use without some type of token system used to enhance gameplay. These known devices and methods of play do not allow for the gameplay of the invention being presented.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a plurality of playing cards including at least two decks of playing cards. There is a plurality of colored tokens and a plurality of score sheets. Each score sheet has a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns.
A method of playing the card and token game apparatus comprises having the card and token game apparatus, distributing ten colored tokens of the plurality of colored tokens to each player, and distributing ten cards of the plurality of playing cards to each player. Each player takes a turn either drawing one card of the plurality of playing cards from an unused pile of the plurality of playing cards or trading one token of the plurality of colored tokens for one card of the plurality of playing cards from a discard pile of the plurality of playing card. The player turns two cards over from the unused pile after each time a player trades one colored token of the plurality of colored tokens for one card of the plurality of playing cards from the discard pile. Each player assembles his or her playing cards in sets of three to six identical playing cards to be removed from his or her hand. Each player places cards from his or her hand onto matching sets of playing cards other players have removed from their hands. One player goes out first by removing all of the playing cards from his or her hand. The players then tally points on the score sheets based on the sets of identical playing cards each player removed from his or her hand.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new card game device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the card and token game apparatus 10 generally comprises a plurality of playing cards 12. The plurality of playing cards 12 includes at least two decks 13 of playing cards 12. The plurality of playing cards 12 may be three decks of playing cards 12 including a plurality of jokers 14.
There is a plurality of colored tokens 16. Each of the colored tokens 16 may have a textured outer edge 18 and a depressed central portion 20 to allow for easier grip and manipulation by the players. The plurality of colored tokens 16 may be 70 colored tokens 16.
A plurality of score sheets 22 each has a plurality of rows 24 and a plurality of columns 26. Each column 26 is for each player's name and each row 24 is for scoring different sets of the plurality of playing cards 12.
In use, the card and token game apparatus 10 allows for a method of gameplay 30 comprising a step 32 having a card and token game apparatus 10 comprising the plurality of playing cards 12, the plurality of colored tokens 16, and the plurality of score sheets 22. A step 34 comprises distributing ten colored tokens of the plurality of colored tokens 16 to each player. A step 36 comprises distributing ten cards of the plurality of playing cards 12 to each player. A step 38 comprises each player taking a turn either drawing one card of the plurality of playing cards from an unused pile of the plurality of playing cards 12 or trading one token of the plurality of colored tokens 16 for one card of the plurality of playing cards from a discard pile of the plurality of playing cards 12. A step 40 comprises turning two cards of the plurality of playing cards 12 over from the unused pile after each time a player trades one colored token 16 of the plurality of colored tokens for one card of the plurality of playing cards 12 from the discard pile. A step 42 comprises each player assembling his or her playing cards 12 in sets of three to six identical playing cards 12 to be removed from his or her hand. A step 44 comprises each player placing the playing cards 12 from his or her hand onto matching sets of playing cards 12 other players have removed from their hands. A step 46 comprises one player going out first by removing all of the playing cards 12 from his or her hand. A step 48 comprises tallying points on the score sheets 22 based on the sets of identical playing cards 12 each player removed from his or her hand.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A card and token game apparatus comprising:

a plurality of playing cards, the plurality of playing cards including at least two decks of playing cards, each of the playing cards having associated rank indicia and suit indicia for distinguishing each card within each of the at least two decks of playing cards wherein the playing cards are configured for being gathered into sets of multiple cards of the same rank indicia;

a plurality of tokens; and

a plurality of score sheets, each score sheet having a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns.

2. The card and token game apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the plurality of playing cards being three decks of playing cards.

3. The card and token game apparatus of claim 1 further comprising each of the tokens having a textured outer edge.

4. The card and token game apparatus of claim 1 further comprising each of the tokens having a depressed central portion.

5. The card and token game apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the plurality of tokens being 70 tokens.

6. A card and token game apparatus comprising:

a plurality of playing cards, the plurality of playing cards being three decks of playing cards, each of the playing cards having associated rank indicia and suit indicia for distinguishing each card within each of the three decks of playing cards wherein the playing cards are configured for being gathered into sets of multiple cards of the same rank indicia;

a plurality of tokens, each of the tokens having a textured outer edge, each of the tokens having a depressed central portion, the plurality of tokens being 70 tokens; and
