Abstract
A method of making a system is described. In the method, a shaft of a poker is positioned into a bore of a body until a first cap connects to a first end of the body. A packer of a packer assembly is positioned within the body adjacent to a second end of the body such that the shaft of the poker is positioned within a tube of the packer assembly.
Description
- This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 63/087,023 filed on Oct. 2, 2020, the entire contents being hereby expressly incorporated herein by reference.
- The present disclosure generally relates to a pipe, more specifically a pipe used for the packing and drying of organic material for smoking.
- Smoking of organic material is intended to include any organic material that upon combustion vaporizes, allowing the vapor to be ingested by the user. Typically, the vapor is ingested through the mouth and encounters the respiratory passages of the user. The organic material may be tobacco, cannabis, tea, dried flowers, dried herbs, etc. The traditional methods of smoking organic material cause the user to inhale by-products of the organic materials upon combustion. Various apparatus for smoking organic materials has been used over the years to smoke tobacco and other organic materials; however, the majority of the burned organic materials remain in the apparatus during the smoking process affecting the smoking of the remaining unburned organic product.
- U.S. Pat. No. 7,415,982 discloses a smokeless pipe for the ingestion of tobacco products which includes an elongated member having a proximal end, a distal end, and a length therebetween. The elongated hollow member includes a constricted portion along its length to retain the tobacco products within, a first opening to enable a user to draw from, a fill port to enable user to fill the hollow member with tobacco products, and a bulbous chamber.
- U.S. Pat. No. 9,795,164 discloses a smoking pipe with a jacket containing an inner glass tube. The glass tube has a hole in its wall that aligns with a hole in the jacket. The pipe has a bowl holder that holds a glass bowl with a stem that extends proximate to the hole in the glass tube. The joint between the bowl stem and an insert in the bowl holder can form a frosted glass fitting. End-caps with threaded inserts can match glass threads on the ends of the glass tube holding the glass tube in the jacket. A decorated metal bowl holder can be mounted on the jacket and decorated with gems, glass and the like. The pipe can be manufactured using different types of premium woods for the jacket for design and beauty. The use of an inner glass tube that contains the smoke eliminates contamination and cools the smoke for inhalation.
- Canadian Patent No. 2,271,404 discloses a device for smoking combustible materials that has a tubular body member constructed entirely out of heat-resistant glass material. The device has an internal bore with an integrally formed venturi that separates the bore into a smoke chamber and a loading chamber. A method of forming the device includes providing a tubular body member constructed entirely from a heat-resistant glass material; forming a constricted passage in a bore of the tubular body member by applying heat to a predetermined location on the tubular body member until the glass material expands into the bore at the predetermined location; and smoothing the outer surface of the tubular body member at the predetermined location.

- The embodiments proposed in this disclosure circumvent the problems described above. The present disclosure describes a system and method for the smoking of organic material that upon combustion vaporizes, allowing the vapor to be ingested by the user.
- As used herein, the terms “comprises,” “comprising,” “includes,” “including,” “has,” “having” or any other variation thereof, are intended to cover a non-exclusive inclusion. For example, a process, method, article, or apparatus that comprises a list of elements is not necessarily limited to only those elements but may include other elements not expressly listed or inherent to such process, method, article, or apparatus. Further, unless expressly stated to the contrary, “or” refers to an inclusive or and not to an exclusive or. For example, a condition A or B is satisfied by anyone of the following: A is true (or present) and B is false (or not present), A is false (or not present) and B is true (or present), and both A and B are true (or present).
- In addition, use of the “a” or “an” are employed to describe elements and components of the embodiments herein. This is done merely for convenience and to give a general sense of the inventive concept. This description should be read to include one or more and the singular also includes the plural unless it is obvious that it is meant otherwise.
- Further, use of the term “plurality” is meant to convey “more than one” unless expressly stated to the contrary.
- As used herein, qualifiers like “substantially,” “about,” “approximately,” and combinations and variations thereof, are intended to include not only the exact amount or value that they qualify, but also some slight deviations therefrom, which may be due to manufacturing tolerances, measurement error, wear and tear, stresses exerted on various parts, and combinations thereof, for example.

- Finally, as used herein any reference to “one embodiment” or “an embodiment” means that a particular element, feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the embodiment is included in at least one embodiment. The appearances of the phrase “in one embodiment” in various places in the specification are not necessarily all referring to the same embodiment.
- Referring now to the drawings,
FIG. 1 illustrates a side view of an exemplary embodiment of asystem 1 for drying organic material in accordance with the present disclosure. Thesystem 1 comprises a smoking assembly, apacker assembly 20, and a poker. The smoking assembly has a body 4 elongated along a longitudinal axis. The body 4 has afirst end 6, asecond end 8, and one or more sidewall 10 that extends along the longitudinal axis between thefirst end 6 and thesecond end 8. A bore 12 extends through thefirst end 6 of the body 4 to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 along the longitudinal axis. Thebore 12 may be defined by aninternal surface 11 of the one or more sidewall 10 that extends between thefirst end 6 and thesecond end 8. In one embodiment, the smoking assembly may be comprised of a substantially clear, low-thermal-expansion, borosilicate glass. - Borosilicate glass is generally a high melting point glass that can withstand very high temperatures without breaking or cracking. An example of commonly known devices constructed from borosilicate glass are jars and baking dishes. Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with the main glass-forming constituents, silica and boron trioxide. Borosilicate glasses are known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion (˜3×10−6/° C. at 20° C.), making them the borosilicate glass resistant to thermal shock, more so than any other common glass. Such borosilicate glass is less subject to thermal stress and is commonly used for the construction of reagent bottles. Borosilicate glass is sold under such trade names as Borcam, Borosil, Suprax, Kimax, Pyrex, Endural, Schott, or Refinex.
- While borosilicate glass is an ideal material for making the
smoking assembly 2 disclosed herein, borosilicate glass is not the only material useable for construction of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. Other embodiments of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 may be comprised of heat-resistant porous material, such as briar, or other material such as wood or wood-like natural organic materials (e.g. bogwood, briar, cherry wood, corncob, olivewood, maple, mesquite, oak, and other woods). Alternatively, the body 4 may be made from a porous non-organic material (e.g., catlinite, clay, meerschaum, soapstone, and the like.) In another embodiment, the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 may be comprised of flit/soda lime glass. Borosilicate glass demonstrates adequate heat resistance, transparency and is also quite easy to melt and shape during the glass blowing process. Borosilicate glass may also be colored and transformed into a variety of different shapes through the glass blowing process. - The
system 1 has afirst cap 14 positioned on thefirst end 6 of the body 4, thefirst cap 14 having afirst opening 16 communicating with thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. Thefirst cap 14 may be made of a silicone, thermoplastic polymer, rubber, or the like. - The
packer assembly 20 has atube 22 having aproximal end 24, adistal end 26, alength 23 extending between theproximal end 24 and thedistal end 26, apacker 30 attached to thetube 22 and positioned adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 within thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. Thepacker 30 has asecond opening 32 that interfaces with thebore 12. Thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20 extends through thesecond opening 32 of thepacker 30 defining an open cavity. Thepacker assembly 20 also has ahandle 34 attached to thetube 22 between thepacker 30 and theproximal end 24 of thetube 22. Thetube 22 may be rigid and made of thermoplastic polymers, glass, metal, wood, wood-like natural organic materials or the like. In one embodiment, thepacker 30 may be made of a flexible, easily molded material such as polyethylene, polyurethane, and the like. In another embodiment, thepacker 30 may be made of silicone, thermoplastic polymer, rubber, or the like. - The
system 1 also has thepoker 40. Thepoker 40 is provided with ashaft 42 and agrip 50. Theshaft 42 has afirst end 44 and asecond end 46. Theshaft 42 extends through thefirst opening 16 of thefirst cap 14 such that thesecond end 46 is positioned within thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20, and thegrip 50 is attachable to theshaft 42 between thefirst cap 14 and thefirst end 44 of theshaft 42. Theshaft 42 may be rigid and made of thermoplastic polymers, glass, metal, wood, wood-like natural organic materials, or the like. - The
system 1 may have a linkingmember 90 that extends from thegrip 50 of thepoker 40 to thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20. The linkingmember 90 has a first connectingend 92, a second connectingend 94, and a length. The first connectingend 92 of the linkingmember 90 is attached to thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, the length extends between thegrip 50 of thepoker 40 where the second connectingend 94 is attached to thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20. The mechanism for attaching the first connectingend 92 of the linkingmember 90 may be tying the first connectingend 92 of the linkingmember 90 to thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20 or thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, winding the first connectingend 92 of the linkingmember 90 around thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20 or thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, or the like. In another embodiment, the linkingmember 90 is further provided with afirst length 95, asecond length 96, and a connectingportion 98. The first connectingend 92 of the linkingmember 90 is attached to thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, thefirst length 95 extends between thegrip 50 of the of thepoker 40 to thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20. The connectingportion 98 of the linkingmember 90 attaches to thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20. Thesecond length 96 extends to thepoker 40 attaching the second connectingend 94 of the linkingmember 90 to thegrip 50 of thepoker 40. The mechanism for attaching the linkingmember 90 may be tying the second connectingend 94 or the connectingportion 98 to thegrip 50 of thepoker 40 or thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20, winding the second connectingend 94 or the connectingportion 98 around thegrip 50 of thepoker 40 or thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20, or the like. In one embodiment, the linkingmember 90 may be attached by connecting the first connectingend 92 to the second connectingend 94 within anindentation 53 on atop surface 15 of thefirst cap 14. (FIGS. 6D and 7D ). The linkingmember 90 biases thepoker 40 toward thepacker assembly 20 thereby creating a pressure on a material that may be positioned between thepacker 30 and thefirst cap 14. The linkingmember 90 may be a string, rubber band, twine, or the like. -
FIGS. 2A-2C are perspective views of an exemplary embodiment of asmoking assembly 2 further comprising amouthpiece 49 in accordance with the present disclosure. Themouthpiece 49 has alower end 51, anupper end 52, one ormore sidewall 54, and aport 60. The one ormore sidewall 54 extends between thelower end 51 and theupper end 52 of themouthpiece 49. The one or more sidewall 54 of themouthpiece 49 has aninner surface 56 and anouter surface 58 that defines theport 60. Theport 60 extends from thelower end 51 to theupper end 52 of themouthpiece 49. Thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49 is attachable to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2.FIG. 2A is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 having themouthpiece 49 attached to thefirst end 6 of the body 4.FIGS. 2B and 2C , are perspective views of exemplary embodiments of a mechanism for attaching themouthpiece 49 to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. In one embodiment shown inFIG. 2B , the lower end of the mouthpiece may have afirst thread 62 that is attachable to asecond thread 64 of thefirst end 6 of the body 4. In another embodiment,FIG. 2C thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49 may have acylindrical body 66 extending from thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49. Thecylindrical body 66 has an opening of substantially uniform inside diameter extending the entire length of thecylindrical body 66 and a plurality of axially spacedcircumferential ribs 67 extending outwardly from thecylindrical body 66. The diameter of the plurality of axially spacedcircumferential ribs 67 extending from thecylindrical body 66 is equal to the diameter of thebore 12 of thefirst end 6 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. Thecylindrical body 66 of themouthpiece 49 may be positioned in thebore 12 of thefirst end 6 of the body 4, thus attaching themouthpiece 49 to thefirst end 6 of the body 4. In one embodiment, thecylindrical body 66 may be comprised of a flexible, easily molded material such as polyethylene, polyurethane, and the like. -
FIG. 3 is a top plan view of an exemplary embodiment of afilter 70 of thesmoking assembly 2, in accordance with the present disclosure.FIG. 4 is a side view of an exemplary embodiment of thefilter 70 of thesmoking assembly 2 ofFIG. 3 . Thefilter 70 may be provided with afilter member 72 and afilter support 74. Thefilter support 74 extends outwardly from thefilter member 72 and may have afirst support member 76, asecond support member 78, and one or more sidewall 80 extending between thefirst support member 76 and thesecond support member 78. Thefilter member 72 has abottom surface 81 and atop surface 82. Thefirst support member 76 member has a first inside surface, a first outside surface, a firstinside edge 83, and a firstoutside edge 84. Thesecond support member 78 has a second inside surface, a second outside surface, a second inside edge, and a second outside edge. Thebottom surface 81 of thefilter member 72 is supported by the second inside surface of thesecond support member 78. In one embodiment, the first inside surface of thefirst support member 76 is positioned on thetop surface 82 of thefilter member 72. In another embodiment the first inside surface of thefirst support member 76 is positioned an equal distance from thetop surface 82 of thefilter member 72 by the one or more sidewall 80 that extends between thefirst support member 76 and thesecond support member 78 defining acavity 89. - The
bottom surface 81 of thefilter member 72 acts as an inlet and thetop surface 82 of the filter member acts as an outlet for the vapors that are the result of the combusted organic material. The vapors are introduced through the inlet and the vapors are discharged through the outlet, while the combusted organic material remains positioned within thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2.FIG. 5 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of thefilter 70 of thesmoking assembly 2 in use in accordance with the present disclosure. Thefilter 70 is positioned within theport 60 of themouthpiece 49 adjacent to thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49. In another embodiment, thefilter 70 is positioned within thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 adjacent to thefirst end 6 of the body 4. Thefilter 70 may be made of, but not limited to metal, polypropylene and polyolefin plastic, cellulose acetate, or synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, or the like. -
FIGS. 6A-D are bottom, perspective views of exemplary embodiments of thepoker 40 of thesmoking assembly 2 in accordance with the present disclosure.FIGS. 7A-7D are top plan views of exemplary embodiments of thepoker 40 of thesmoking assembly 2 in accordance with the present disclosure. Thegrip 50 of thepoker 40 may comprise of, but is not limited to, two or more cross members, one or more arc, or one or more cylindrical member. As seen inFIGS. 6D and 7D, thefirst cap 14 may have one ormore indentation 53 on thetop surface 15 of thefirst cap 14. -
FIGS. 8A-8D are side, perspective views of exemplary embodiments of thepacker assembly 20 of thesmoking assembly 2 in accordance with the present disclosure. The handle of thepacker 30 may be comprise of, but is not limited to, one or more cross member, one or more arc, or one or more cylindrical member. -
FIG. 9 is a side perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 ofFIG. 2 . Thesmoking assembly 2 further comprises asecond cap 160. In one embodiment, thefirst cap 14 is positioned on thefirst end 6 of the body 4, theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 is positioned within thebore 12 of the body 4, and thesecond cap 160 is positioned on thesecond end 8 of the body 4. In this embodiment, when organic material is positioned within thebore 12 of the body 4, thepoker 40 maintains a pathway within the organic material for improved air flow when burning the organic material within thesmoking assembly 2. In another embodiment, thefirst cap 14 is positioned on thefirst end 6 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 and thesecond cap 160 is positioned on thesecond end 8 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 sealing off thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 from the ambient environment surrounding thesmoking assembly 2. The dried organic material may be stored within the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 until ready for use. Thesecond cap 160 may be made of a silicone, thermoplastic polymer, rubber, or the like. -
FIGS. 10A-B are side, perspective views of an exemplary embodiment of a band of the smoking assembly in accordance with the present disclosure. The band may be positioned on an external surface of the body 4 of the smoking assembly. The band may be made of silicone, rubber, or other heat resistant material. In some embodiments, the band is provided with a ring shape that is sized and dimensioned to be positioned on the body 4 of the smoking assembly. In the example of theband 100 shown inFIG. 10B , theband 100 materially encircles the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. -
FIG. 11 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of a key 110 in accordance with the present disclosure. The key 110 has abow 112, one or more prong, thebow 112 having atop side 118 and abottom side 120, the one or more prong having an upper end, a lower end, and a member extending a length from the upper end to the lower end. The upper end of the one or more prong is connected to thebottom side 120 of thebow 112. In one embodiment, the key 110 has a foot connected to the lower end of the one or more prong. In another embodiment, the foot is curvilinear. - In one embodiment, the one or more prong of the key includes a
first prong 114 and asecond prong 116. Thefirst prong 114 has a firstupper end 122, a firstlower end 124, and afirst member 126 extending from the firstupper end 122 to the firstlower end 124, the firstupper end 122 of thefirst prong 114 being connected to thebottom side 120 of thebow 112, and thesecond prong 116 has a secondupper end 132, a secondlower end 134, and asecond member 136 extending from the secondupper end 132 to the secondlower end 134. The secondupper end 132 of thesecond prong 116 is connected to thebottom side 120 of the bow 112 a distance from thefirst prong 114. In another embodiment, the key 110 has afirst foot 128 connected to the firstlower end 124 of thefirst prong 114 and the key 110 has asecond foot 138 connected to the secondlower end 134 of thesecond prong 116 of the key 110. In another embodiment, thefirst foot 128 of the firstlower end 124 of thefirst prong 114 is curvilinear and thesecond foot 138 of the secondlower end 134 of thesecond prong 116 is curvilinear. -
FIG. 12A is a side, perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the key 110 in use with thesystem 1 in accordance with the present disclosure.FIG. 12B is a cross-sectional view of an exemplary embodiment of the key in use with thesystem 1 ofFIG. 12A taken along lines, 12B-12B inFIG. 12A . - In this embodiment, the
system 1 has amouthpiece 49 wherein themouthpiece 49 has one or more keyway 140 positioned at theupper end 52 of themouthpiece 49 extending from theouter surface 58 of the one or more sidewall 54 to theinner surface 56 of the one or more sidewall 54 (as shown inFIG. 13 ), thefilter support 74 also has one or more keyway 170 extending from theouter surface 180 to theinner surface 182 of the first support member 76 (as shown inFIG. 14 andFIG. 15 ), and thefilter 70 has acavity 89 defined by theinner surface 182 of thefirst support member 76 positioned an equal distance from thetop surface 82 of thefilter member 72 by the one or more sidewall 80 that extends between thefirst support member 76 and the second support member 78 (as shown inFIG. 16 ). In this embodiment, the keyways are aligned so that one or more foot of the one or more prong is configured to pass through the one or more keyway of themouthpiece 49 and through the one or more keyway of thefirst support member 76 until the one or more foot of the key 110 is positioned within thecavity 89 of thefilter 70. -
FIG. 17A is a side, perspective view of an exemplary use of the key with the smoking assembly in a firstengaged position 190 in accordance with the present disclosure. The key may be rotated axially to engage the one or more foot of the one or more prong with the filter in a firstengaged position 190. Afirst force 195 may be applied to thebow 112 of the key in the direction of thesecond end 8 of the body 4, which would allow thefilter 70 to move from the firstengaged position 190, either adjacent thefirst end 6 of the body 4 or adjacent thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49, to a secondengaged position 200 adjacent thesecond end 8 of the body 4.FIG. 17B is a side, perspective view of an exemplary use of the key 110 with thesmoking assembly 2 in a secondengaged position 200 in accordance with the present disclosure. Asecond force 205 may be applied to thebow 112 of the key 110 in the direction of thefirst end 6 of the body 4, allowing thefilter 70 to move from the secondengaged position 200 adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 to the firstengaged position 190 adjacent to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 or thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49. - In one embodiment, the one or more keyway of the
mouthpiece 49 includes afirst keyway 142 and asecond keyway 144. In this embodiment, thefirst keyway 142 is positioned a distance equal to the distance between thefirst prong 114 andsecond prong 116 of the key 110 from the second keyway 144 (as shown inFIG. 13 ), thefilter support 74 has afirst keyway 172 and asecond keyway 174, wherein thefirst keyway 172 is positioned a distance equal to the distance between thefirst prong 114 and thesecond prong 116 of the key 110 from the second keyway 174 (as shown inFIG. 14 ), and thefilter 70 has acavity 89 defined by theinner surface 182 of thefirst support member 76 positioned an equal distance from thetop surface 82 of thefilter member 72 by the one or more sidewall 80 that extends between thefirst support member 76 and the second support member 78 (as shown inFIG. 16 ). In this embodiment thefirst foot 128 of thefirst prong 114 and thesecond foot 138 of thesecond prong 116 are configured to pass through thefirst keyway 142 and thesecond keyway 144 of themouthpiece 49 and through thefirst keyway 172 and thesecond keyway 174 of thefirst support member 76 until thefirst foot 128 of thefirst prong 114 and thesecond foot 138 of thesecond prong 116 of the key 110 are positioned within thecavity 89 of thefilter 70. The key 110 may be rotated axially to engage thefirst foot 128 of thefirst prong 114 and thesecond foot 138 of thesecond prong 116 with thefilter 70 in a firstengaged position 190. Afirst force 195 may be applied to thebow 112 of the key 110 in the direction of thesecond end 8, which would allow thefilter 70 to move from the firstengaged position 190, either adjacent to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 or adjacent to thesecond end 8 of themouthpiece 49, to a secondengaged position 200 adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4. It is understood to those of ordinary skill in the art, that the secondengaged position 200 of thefilter 70 may be positioned between the firstengaged position 190 and thesecond end 8 of the body 4.FIG. 17B is a side, perspective view of an exemplary use of the key 110 with thesmoking assembly 2 in a secondengaged position 200 in accordance with the present disclosure. Asecond force 205 may be applied to thebow 112 of the key 110 in the direction of thefirst end 6 of the body 4, allowing thefilter 70 to move from the secondengaged position 200 adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 to the firstengaged position 190 adjacent to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 or thesecond end 8 of themouthpiece 49. The change in position of thefilter 70 from the firstengaged position 190 to the secondengaged position 200 may dispose of the combusted organic material out of thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2, while the non-combusted organic material will remain positioned within thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. -
FIG. 18 , in one embodiment, thedistal end 26 of thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20 has one ormore projection 202 extending from thetube 22. As seen inFIGS. 19B-C , thepacker 30 may also have anaperture 203 extending from theouter surface 204 to theinner surface 206 of thepacker 30, and acavity 207 defined by the inner surface of thepacker 30. In this embodiment, the one ormore projection 202 is configured to pass through theaperture 203 of thepacker 30 until the one ormore projection 202 is positioned within thecavity 207 of thepacker 30. In this embodiment, thepacker assembly 20 may be rotated axially to engage the one ormore projection 202 of thepacker assembly 20 with thepacker 30 allowing for the packer to be moved from a first position to a second position (not shown). - In another embodiment, the
keyway 170 extending form theouter surface 180 to theinner surface 182 of thefirst support member 76 of the filter 70 (shown inFIG. 20 ) is configured to allow the one ormore projection 202 of thepacker assembly 20 to pass through thekeyway 170 of thefilter support 74 until the one ormore projection 202 of the packer assembly is positioned within thecavity 89 of thefilter 70. In this embodiment, thepacker assembly 20 may be rotated axially to engage the one ormore projection 202 of thepacker assembly 20 with thefilter 70 allowing for thefilter 70 to be moved from a first position to a second position (not shown). -
FIG. 21 is a flowchart of an exemplary method of manufacturing thesystem 1 in accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure. The method of manufacturing comprises positioning theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 into thebore 12 of the body 4 until thefirst cap 14 connects to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 and positioning thepacker 30 of thepacker assembly 20 into the body 4 adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 such that theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 is positioned within thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20. In another embodiment, the method of manufacture comprises positioning theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 into thebore 12 of the body 4 until thefirst cap 14 connects to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 and positioning thepacker 30 of thepacker assembly 20 into the body 4 adjacent to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 such that theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 is positioned within thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20. - A method of use of the
system 1 for drying organic material may include positioning theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 into thebore 12 of the body 4 until thefirst cap 14 connects to thefirst end 6 of the body 4, positioning organic material into thebore 12 of the body 4, positioning thepacker 30 of thepacker assembly 20 within the body 4 adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 such that theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 is positioned within thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20 and the organic material is positioned between thepacker 30 and thefirst cap 14. The linkingmember 90 may extend from thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20 to thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, creating a bias between thepoker 40 toward thepacker assembly 20 thus compressing the organic material that may be positioned between thepacker 30 and thefirst cap 14 for drying. - In one embodiment, after the initial compression of the organic material within the
bore 12 of the body 4, the user may remove thepacker 30 from thebore 12 of the body 4, position additional organic material into thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2, reposition thepacker 30 into thebore 12 of the body 4 adjacent to thesecond end 8 such that theshaft 42 of the poker is positioned within thetube 22 of thepacker assembly 20 and the additional organic material is compressed with the organic material positioned nearest thefirst cap 14. The linkingmember 90 may be extended from thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20 to thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, creating a bias between thepoker 40 toward thepacker assembly 20 compressing the additional organic material and the organic material positioned between thepacker 30 and thefirst cap 14 for drying. - A method of use of the smoking assembly for consuming vapors of the organic material provides that upon drying the organic material, the linking
member 90 is removed from thehandle 34 of thepacker assembly 20 and thegrip 50 of thepoker 40, thepacker 30 is removed from thebore 12 of the body 4, thefirst cap 14 is disconnected from thefirst end 6 of the body 4, removing theshaft 42 of thepoker 40 from thebore 12 of the body 4. Thefilter 70 is positioned either within thebore 12 adjacent to thefirst end 6 of the body 4 or theport 60 adjacent to thelower end 51 of themouthpiece 49 and themouthpiece 49 is attached to thefirst end 6 of the body 4. An end of the organic material adjacent to thesecond end 8 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2 is ignited, the organic material begins to combust allowing the user to inhale the vapors of the combusted organic material through theport 60 in themouthpiece 49. In another embodiment, the dried organic material may be removed from thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2, a first end of the organic material may be ignited. As the organic material begins to combust, the user may inhale the vapors of the combusted organic material through a second end of the organic material. In another embodiment, the dried organic material may be removed from thebore 12 of the body 4 of thesmoking assembly 2. Upon removal, the dried organic material may be wrapped in a wrapping member for use. The wrapping member may be made of paper, soft material, organic material, or the like. - While several embodiments of the inventive concepts have been described for purposes of this disclosure, it will be understood that numerous changes may be made which will readily suggest themselves to those skilled in the art and which are accomplished within the spirit of the inventive concepts disclosed and as defined in the appended claims.
Claims (20)
1. A system, comprising:
a smoking assembly, comprising:
a body elongated along a longitudinal axis, the body having a first end, a second end, one or more sidewall extending along the longitudinal axis between the first and second end, and a bore extending through the first end of the body to the second end of the body along the longitudinal axis;
a first cap positioned on the first end of the body, the first cap having a first opening communicating with the bore;
a packer assembly, comprising:
a tube having a proximal end, a distal end, and a length extending between the proximal and the distal end, a packer attached to the tube and positioned within the bore, the tube extending from the packer passed the second end of the body, and a handle attached to the tube between the packer and the proximal end of the tube; and
a poker, comprising:
a shaft having a first end and a second end, the shaft extending through the first opening in the first cap such that the second end is positioned within the tube of the packer assembly, and a grip attachable to the shaft between the first cap and the first end of the shaft.
2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a linking member extending from the grip of the poker to the handle of the packer assembly.
3. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a second cap positioned on the second end of the body of the smoking assembly.
4. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a band that is positioned on an external surface of the sidewall of the body of the smoking assembly.
5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the band is comprised of heat-resistant material.
6. The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a mouthpiece having an upper end, a lower end, one or more sidewall, and a port, the sidewall extending between the upper end and lower end, the sidewall having an inner surface and an outer surface, the port extending from the upper end to the lower end, the inner surface of the mouthpiece surrounding and defining the port, the mouthpiece attachable to the first end of the body of the smoking assembly.
7. The system of claim 6 , further comprising:
a filter positioned within the port of the mouthpiece, the filter comprising a filter member and a filter support; and
the filter support extending outwardly from the filter member having a first support member, a second support member and one or more sidewall extending between the first support member and the second support member.
8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the mouthpiece further comprises:
one or more keyway extending from the outer surface of the sidewall of the mouthpiece to the inner surface of the sidewall of the mouthpiece; and
the one or more keyway is positioned at the upper end of the mouthpiece.
9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the filter support further comprises:
one or more keyway extending from an outer surface to an inner surface of the first support member.
10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the filter further comprises:
a cavity defined by the one or more sidewall extending between the first support member of the filter support and a top surface of the filter member.
11. The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
a key having a bow and one or more prong, the bow having a top side and a bottom side, the one or more prong having an upper end, a lower end, and a member extending from the upper end to the lower end, the upper end of the one or more prong being connected to the bottom side of the bow.
12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the one or more prong of the key comprises a first prong and a second prong, the first prong having a first upper end, a first lower end, and a first member extending from the first upper end to the first lower end, the first upper end of the first prong being connected to the bottom side of the bow, and the second prong having a second upper end, a second lower end, and a second member extending from the second upper end to the second lower end, the second upper end of the second prong being connected to the bottom side of the bow a distance from the first prong.
13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the first prong of the key includes a first foot connected to the first lower end and the second prong of the key includes a second foot connected to the second lower end.
14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the one or more keyway of the mouthpiece includes a first keyway and a second keyway, and wherein the first keyway is positioned a distance from the second keyway equal to the distance between the first prong of the key and the second prong of the key.
15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more keyway of the filter includes a first keyway and a second keyway, and wherein the first keyway is positioned a distance from the second keyway equal to the distance between the first prong of the key and the second prong of the key.
16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first foot is configured to pass through the first keyway of the mouthpiece; and the second foot is configured to pass through the second keyway of the mouthpiece.
17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the one or more keyway includes a first keyway and a second keyway, and wherein the first foot of the first prong is configured to pass through the first keyway of the first support member of the filter; and the second foot of the second prong is configured to pass through the second keyway of the first support member of the filter.
18. The system of claim 13 , wherein the first foot of the first lower end of the first prong is curvilinear; and the second foot of the second lower end of the second prong is curvilinear.
19. The system of claim 1 , wherein the distal end of the packer assembly further comprises one or more projection extending from the tube;
wherein the packer has an aperture extending from an outer surface to an inner surface of the packer, and a cavity defined by the inner surface of the packer; and
wherein the one or more projection extending from the distal end of the packer assembly is configured to pass through the aperture of the packer thereby positioning the one or more projection within the cavity of the packer.
20. A method of making a system, comprising:
positioning a shaft of a poker into a bore of a body until a first cap connects to a first end of the body; and
