Abstract

Smoking pipe with an active smoke cooling chamber. A smoking pipe with a material bowl used for the burning of smoking materials, multiple chambers that are filled with smoke as the user inhales smoke into pipe using a mouthpiece, a chamber equipped with an thermoelectric heat exchanger, a control unit to regulate temperatures within the heat exchange chamber and a system to receive and provide data to user. The cooling chamber uses thermoelectric heat exchangers to change the temperature within its walls, the lowering of the temperature within the chamber cools the smoke as it passes through. The cooling chamber connects to a mouthpiece through an aft passage, the user inhales smoke which is now at a reduced temperature using a mouthpiece.

    CROSS REFERENCES TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority to an earlier filed provisional application having Ser. No. 62/914,991, and hereby incorporates subject matter of the provisional application in its entirety.
  • FIELD OF INVENTION
  • This invention relates to smoking appliances and more particularly to smoking appliances that regulate smoke temperature.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Mankind has been smoking tobacco and other organic materials using pipes of varying shapes and sizes for a very long time. A basic pipe consists of a bowl with a material chamber, the chamber where the tobacco or other material is burned, a bit or mouthpiece for a user to inhale, and air passage that connect them all together. Smoking from pipes requires high heat to burn material, this causes the generated smoke to be high in temperature which causes users to feel an undesirable burning sensation when inhaling the smoke generated using said pipe. Current pipes smokers who want a cooler smoother smoke are thus required to use methods that are very limited in scope for cooling, and these methods reduces the ingredients within the smoke.
  • Water pipes use water in a chamber within the pipe. The smoke from the material chamber passes through an air passage, into a chamber with water, where the smoke comes in contact with the water, is cooled and filtered and then passed onto the user. In an effort to further reduce the burning sensation, some smokers using waterpipes will add ice to the water in the water pipe. By adding ice, the water temperature is further reduced, thus the smoke can be cooled to a lower temperature. However, as the heat is exchange within the water pipe the temperature of the water and ice rising causes the water to overflow out of the pipe. To prevent overflow and accommodate the melting ice, waterpipes have grown larger and larger in size making their use cumbersome and prohibitive at times.
  • Using pipes with these traditional methods of filtering and cooling results in flavors and other ingredients being removed partially or completely, while offering minimal, if any reduction to the temperature of the smoke. While these types of pipes are known, the embodiments contained herein provide a method, features and provide advantages untaught by prior art, as will be clear to one of ordinary knowledge in the subject.
  • SUMMARY
  • It is accordingly an object of the present invention to provide a smoking pipe which incorporates a cooling means and, in particular, a smoking pipe with an active cooling method for cooling smoke. To that end, traditional pipes that do any cooling use filtering mediums to cool smoke. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a bowl with burning material is placed within a bowl holder in the pipe, passage from bowl holder to a chamber that functions as a plenum. Plenum chamber is then connected to cooling chamber that is equipped with a thermoelectric cooling assembly. Smoke within the cooling chamber is cooled as it passes through the chamber and then passes out to a mouthpiece.
