Abstract
A combination of toiletry bag, washrag, and back-scrubber is provided. The bathing apparatus embodying the combination provides a mesh bag with a cattycorner handle configuration for enabling back-scrubbing functionality, while the bag can store toiletries and the mesh provides a washing surface.
Description
- The present invention relates to household accessories and combinations thereof and, more particularly, a 3-in-1 washrag, toiletry bag, and back scrubber combination.
- The problem of carrying and having to use multiple, separate items while bathing—i.e., a separate washrag, a separate toiletry bag, and a back scrubber—can be inconvenient to say the least. The current devices in the field of everyday washing routines only solve one or two problems, and apparently have round it too difficult to incorporate the combination of body-washing, toiletry bag, and back-scrubbing solutions into a simple unitary construction. As a result, the current state of the art requires the customer to purchase separate items for their bathing routine as they have yet to solve the unsolved problem of combining a washrag, a toiletry bag, and a back scrubber in one device.
- As can be seen, there is a need for a 3-in-1 washrag, toiletry bag, and back scrubber combination. The present invention improves on all devices in the field by combining and solving all three problems presented in a bathing routine in one product, thus eliminating the need for the customer to purchase multiple items to solve the individual problems presented.
- In a novel manner, the present invention combines a washrag/toiletry bag/back scrubber into one item for ease of use and lessening the number of separate items a user needs to manage and carry or travel with.
- In one aspect of the present invention, a combination toiletry bag, wash surface, and scrubbing functionality, the combination includes the following: a mesh bag defined by one or more edges; a first handle extending from the one or more edges; and a second handle along the one or more edges, wherein the second handle is generally diametrically opposing the first handle.
- In another aspect of the present invention, the combination toiletry bag, wash surface, and scrubbing functionality includes the following: a bathing apparatus providing the following: an upper edge and a lower edge; a mesh bag providing an opening between said upper and lower edges; a mouth communicating to the opening, the mouth extending between a first mouth end and a second mouth end along the upper edge; a first handle adjacent the first mouth end; and a second handle along the lower edge generally diametrically opposing the first handle, whereby said first and second handles define a cattycorner configuration.
- In yet another aspect of the present invention, the combination toiletry bag, wash surface, and scrubbing functionality includes the following a cord loop connected adjacent the second mouth end and generally upward of the second handle; a channel along a periphery of the mouth, wherein the cord loop is received in the channel in such a way that the mouth is movable between an open condition and a closed condition; a cord lock operatively associated with the cord loop for selectively removably securing the cord lock along the cord loop, wherein each handle is a cord loop, and wherein the bathing apparatus is generally rectangular in a flat condition.
- These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a rear elevation view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, shown in use; and -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, shown in use. - The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
- Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a combination of toiletry bag, washrag, and back-scrubber. The bathing apparatus embodied in the present invention provides a mesh bag with a cattycorner handle configuration for enabling back-scrubbing functionality, while the bag can store toiletries and the mesh provides a washing surface.
- Referring now to
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the present invention may include a bathing routine apparatus that embodies a washer, back-scrubber and toiletry bag combination, generally indicated by thenumeral 10. - The
bathing routine apparatus 10 forms a bag having a mesh front section 1 and a generally diametrically opposing printablerear section 7. The front andrear sections 1 and 7 may be joined by a joining element 2, including but not limited to threading, such as Kevlar™ threading. Thebathing routine apparatus 10 may be generally defined by a mesh substrate, typically made from a plasticized or polymer material, such as polyester or the like, that amounts to the mesh front section along the front surface, wherein the printablerear section 7 is attached over the mesh substrate along the rear surface. The printablerear section 7 is made of a material that allows printability. In other embodiment, the printablerear section 7 has print dyed onto the printablerear section 7 material. - As can be seen in
FIGS. 2 and 3 , considering either the front andrear sections 1 and 7 as a planar rectangular (when thebathing routine apparatus 10 is in a folded condition), a plurality ofhandles 3 may extend from at least cattycorner “corners” of the “planar rectangle”. This cattycorner configuration enables the scrubbing action demonstrated inFIG. 5 through auser 6 manually engaging thehandles 3. InFIG. 3 , thehandles 3 extends from the upper right-hand corner and the lower left-hand corner in the form of loops. It should be understood that thehandle 3 may be a cord loop as shown, though in other embodiments thehandle 3 may be a cord not be in a loop, or may not even be a cord, as other objects may fit the bill as long as they function as herein disclosed. Thehandle 3 may extend from a third corner (inFIG. 3 , the upper left-hand corner), from this ‘non-cattycorner’ location thehandle 3 may be associated with a handle lock 4. - The
handle 3 can also be joined to the bag by way of the joining element 2. In some embodiments, thenon-cattycorner handle 3 may be received along an inner portion of amouth 40 of the bag, thereby enabling auser 6 to cinch themouth 40 shut, closing off the opening of the bag. The handle lock 4 can secure themouth 40 in such a secured/cinched condition for keeping the contents 5 housed within the bag in a secured condition for transportation, storage, or other purposes. - A method of making the present invention may include the following. A manufacturer may provide at least two rectangular, coextensive pieces of the mesh substrate and join them around three of the four outer edge leaving the fourth edge as the opening for the
mouth 40 of the bag. - In one embodiment, the manufacturer may attach the cord lock 4 to the
non-cattycorner cord 3, and then wrap thecord 3 around themouth 40, fold the mesh opening outwardly over the loopedcord 3 and attach the distal edge of the mouth back to the body of the bag, forming a channel the loopedcord 3 slides along in. The cord lock 4 will be disposed outside this channel adjacent a first corner of the mouth 40 (the non-cattycorner). Next, the manufacturer may connect anothercord 3 as a loop to the second corner of themouth 40. Then, the manufacturer may cut anothercord 30 and attach it as a loop to the corner cattycorner said second corner. The printablerear section 7 may be attached to along the rear surface prior to completion. - A method of using the present invention may include the following. The
bathing routine apparatus 10 disclosed above may be provided. Auser 6 may place contents 5 (typically toiletries used during a bathing routine) into the opening of the bag through themouth 40. Then theuser 6 may close invention using the loop lock 4 so that the objects 5 stay inside the bag/bathing routine apparatus 10. Then theuser 6 may carry thebathing routine apparatus 10 filled with toiletries to shower/bathtub, hang thebathing routine apparatus 10 from nearby structure by thecord loop 3 associated with the cord lock 4, if they so choose, and then remove the desired toiletries 5. After applying body wash to the front mesh section 1 (of the mesh bag), theuser 6 could slide their hand into themouth 40/opening and scrub/wash their body. Additionally, the user could manually simultaneously engage thecattycorner cord loops 3 with their respective hands and scrub hard-to-reach parts of their body, such as their back, as illustrated inFIG. 5 . After rinsing off from the mesh bag, theuser 6 can place toiletry items 5 back inside the opening and move the loops lock 4 back to a cinched position. - Additionally, the present invention can be used to wash dishes, wash cars, and carry items.
- It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
