Abstract
A weapons transport bag has a bag, a set of weapon racks, a bullet proof liner, a support assembly, and a handle. The weapon racks are mounted within the bag to subdivide the interior compartment into a set of weapon receptacles. The bulletproof liner is integrated into the bag to form a stopping mechanism for accidentally discharged firearms. The support assembly enables a user to retain the bag in a desired orientation and has a set of length-adjustable legs to facilitate this. The handle is attached to an exterior surface of the bag and enables the user to easily carry or transport the weapons transport bag.
Description
- The current application claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 63/058,948 filed on Jul. 30, 2021.
- The present invention generally relates to a marksman caddy. The present invention comprises a plurality of firearm receptacles with a level three ballistic plate in case of accidental discharge. Additionally, the present invention comprises additional modules such as a Global Position System (GPS) tracking system, a biometric reader, a magnetic lock, and a motion alarm amongst other modules.
- Hunting is typically known as sport that involves the seeking, pursuing, and killing of wild animals and birds, called game and game birds, primarily in modern times with firearms. In Great Britain and western Europe, hunting is the term employed for the taking of wild animals with the aid of hounds that hunt by scent, whereas the sport of taking small game and game birds with a gun is known as shooting. In the United States and elsewhere, the term hunting is used for both hunting and shooting.
- To early humans, hunting was a necessity. The quarry provided food from the meat, clothing from the skins, and material for tools from the bones, horns, and hooves. There are records of the shooting of game with firearms from the 16th century.
- The gun greatly increased the hunter's ability to kill game at greater distances and in larger numbers. Meanwhile it also offered improvement in range, accuracy, and rapidity of fire.
- When European explorers and settlers came to the American continent, game was abundant from coast to coast. Moose were commonly found in New England and in the forested northern Atlantic coast. Deer roamed freely there and inland as well. There was a profusion of game birds, including wild turkey, waterfowl, and small game.
- Westward, the American buffalo roamed plains, and passenger pigeons circulate the skies. In the western mountains, elk, mountain goat, sheep, and pronghorn were numerous. Similarly, predators were generally found as well such as pumas, cougars, lynxes, bobcats, wolves, and coyotes.
- The pioneers, for whom a gun was both a weapon of defense and a food provider, hunted to put meat on the table. The pioneer farm families harvested the game of the swamps and forests as naturally as they harvested their crops.
- The supply of game seemed limitless, just as the availability and fertility of the land did. The mark of a farm or small town boy's coming of age was when he received a gun for hunting.
- In actuality, many of these traditions have been passed on from generation to generation. Knowledge in regard to firearms, and how to responsibly use them is crucial to safely hunting. Although many traditions are kept, the increase of technology is desirable and applicable to hunting for further improvement of the activity, and ease of transportation and preparation.
- Thus, it is an objective of the present invention to not only provide an easy way of transporting firearms, but also a plurality of technology modules which aids in the hunting experience, while also providing safety modules for the user, their surroundings and their firearms. Additionally, the present invention is beneficial and provides an enhanced performance for police and military for tactical use. The present invention provides an advantage for strategic and tactical application implemented by various military agencies, and other organizations focused on protection and security
- All components and features are described in detail in the following sections. Any variation, or slight modification of the present invention is to be considered within the scope of the invention. The present invention is a marksman caddy. The present invention is beneficial and effective in various applications such as recreational hunting or military applications. Thus, the applications for the present invention include, but are not limited to recreational, tactical and military application.
- The present invention comprises a housing and a plurality of firearms receptacles designed and manufactured to safely store and transport firearms. Additionally, the present invention comprises a level three ballistic plate liner in case of accidental discharge of a firearm.
- Furthermore, the present invention comprises a plurality of safety modules which enhance safety, security and theft protection/prevention. Amongst these modules some of them are a biometric reader, a magnetic lock, a Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking system and an alarm motion system.
- The biometric reader and the magnetic lock integrate with each other in order to protect and provide controlled access to the marksman caddy. The biometric reader relays the unlock signal to the magnetic lock once the biometric data from the biometric reader matches the corresponding user's biometric data.
- Furthermore, the GPS tracking system and the motion alarm provide further security and protection for the present invention. Additionally, the present invention comprises additional modules such as a shooting stool, a built-in range finder, a deployable open-front canvas top, and a bifold ballistic shield attached to the plurality of retractable legs.
- Furthermore, the present invention comprises a plurality of auxiliary pockets for a variety of additional kits such as a cleaning kit and a bleeding control kit. Additionally, the present invention comprises a drone for recording shots.
- The following document describes all the components and the arrangement thereof and is meant to aid in illustrating and explaining the present invention, rather than limit the scope thereof.
- Additionally, the embodiments, figures, and drawings are merely examples and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention in any shape, way or form. Therefore, it is intended that the present invention covers all other embodiments that are within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.

- Referring to
FIG. 1 throughFIG. 6 , the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the weapon transport bag, is a safety-minded carrying case for multiple weapons. The present invention provides a means of storing and transporting firearms that prevents theft, minimizes damage from accidental discharge, and provides useful tools that aid a marksman during hunts or competitions. To achieve the above-described functionality, the present invention, comprises abag 1, a plurality ofweapon racks 9, a bulletproof liner 13 a support assembly 2, and at least onehandle 3. The plurality of weapon racks 9 subdivides an interior compartment of thebag 1. Further, the user's firearms are mounted onto theweapon racks 9 and the racks are inserted into the interior compartment. Thus positioned, the plurality ofweapon racks 9 forms a plurality of weapon receptacles for the firearms placed within the present invention. Thebulletproof liner 13 is an anti-ballistics material that is integrated into thebag 1. As a result, thebulletproof liner 13 prevents bullets that are accidentally discharged by the firearms within the present invention from exiting thebag 1. Thebulletproof liner 13 is composed of at least one material selected from the group comprising Kevlar, UHMWPE, Lexan, carbon fiber composite materials, steel, and titanium. In some embodiments, thebulletproof liner 13 is arigid baseplate 13 that is positioned within a base portion of thebag 1. Preferably, the barrels of firearms that are inserted into the plurality of weapon receptacles are pointed toward the base portion of thebag 1. Thus, thebaseplate 13 forms a hard stop for accidentally discharged bullets. The support assembly 2 is an adjustable structure that enables thebag 1 to be retained in a desired orientation while not in use. The support assembly 2 is laterally mounted to thebag 1 so that thebag 1 can be retained ad a desired angle relative to the ground. Thehandle 3 is laterally attached to thebag 1 and is positioned offset from the support assembly 2. Accordingly, thehandle 3 enables a user to carry the present invention from place to place. - The plurality of
weapon racks 9 forms an adjustable mounting system for a wide variety of firearms and firearm accessories. To achieve this functionality, each of the plurality ofweapon racks 9 comprises a rack body and a plurality of anchor points 91. The plurality of anchor points 91 forms a set of connector points 91 that are distributed across the rack body. Thus, enabling the user to mount forearms onto the rack body at a desired orientation and position. The present invention further comprises a plurality ofspacing tabs 17. The plurality ofspacing tabs 17 is distributed around the interior compartment and each of the plurality ofweapon racks 9 is pressed against a pair ofspacing tabs 17 from the plurality ofspacing tabs 17. As a result, the user is able to modify the size of each weapon receptacle by mating theweapon rack 9 to a desired pair ofspacer tabs 17. - The present invention is designed to securely store the firearms held within the plurality of weapon receptacles. To facilitate this, the present invention further comprises a
lid 14, alocking mechanism 4, and a biometric sensor. Thelid 14 is mounted over anopening 15 of the interior compartment. Accordingly, thelid 14 can be opened or closed to secure the firearms stored within thebag 1. Thelocking mechanism 4 is integrated in between thelid 14 and thebag 1, and the biometric sensor is communicably coupled to thelocking mechanism 4. Consequently, the biometric sensor generates signals that direct thelocking mechanism 4 to transition between a locked and an unlocked state. This configuration prevents unauthorized individuals from accessing the firearms within thebag 1. Embodiments of the present invention are designed withmagnetic locking mechanisms 4. In some embodiments, the present invention further comprises at least oneauxiliary pocket 16 that is laterally mounted onto thebag 1. Thus, the user is able to store a variety of personal items in locations that are easy to access. - As described above, the support assembly 2 is an adjustable system that enables the user to retain the
bag 1 in a desired orientation. To facilitate this, the support assembly 2 comprises a first length-adjustable leg 21 and a second length-adjustable leg 22. The first length-adjustable leg 21 is hingedly connected to thebag 1 and the second length-adjustable leg 22 is hingedly connected to thebag 1. As a result, the user is able to transition the support assembly 2 between a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration. While in the stowed configuration, the first length-adjustable leg 21 and the second length-adjustable leg 22 are fully retracted and pressed flat against the exterior surface of thebag 1. While in the deployed configuration the first length-adjustable leg 21 and the second length-adjustable leg 22 are fully extended and angularly offset from thebag 1. Thus, the base portion, the first length-adjustable leg 21 and the second length-adjustable leg 22 form a tripod that retains thebag 1 in an orientation which facilitates loading and storing firearms. Some embodiments of the support assembly 2 further comprise aballistics shield 23. Theballistics shield 23 is a piece of anti-ballistics material that is stretched between the first length-adjustable leg 21 and the second length-adjustable leg 22. Thus connected, theballistics shield 23 that the user can hide behind for protection. Preferably, theballistics shield 23 is rigid assembly 2 with a bifold construction that folds in half when the support assembly 2 is in the stowed configuration. Additionally, theballistics shield 23 forms a planar structure when the first length-adjustable leg 21 and the second length-adjustable leg 22 are in the deployed configuration. - The present invention is designed with several features that increase convenience for the user. Specifically, the present invention further comprises a
microcontroller 6, aGPS unit 61, at least oneenvironmental sensor 62, adisplay device 64, a wireless radio 65, and adrone 7. Themicrocontroller 6 is an integrated circuit that governs the function of the present invention's electronics components. As such, theGPS unit 61, theenvironmental sensor 62, thedisplay device 64 and the wireless radio 65 are electronically connected to themicrocontroller 6. Consequently, themicrocontroller 6 is able to send commands to and analyze data generated by the connected components. TheGPS unit 61 and the wireless radio 65 are mounted within thebag 1. TheGPS unit 61 functions as a location tracking system for the present invention. The wireless radio 65 enables the present invention to wirelessly communicate with external systems. In some embodiments, the wireless radio 65 enables an internal battery of the present invention to be wirelessly recharged. Theenvironmental sensor 62 is mounted onto an exterior surface of thebag 1. Accordingly, theenvironmental sensor 62 is advantageously positioned to monitor the state of the external environment. In some embodiments the at least oneenvironmental sensor 62 is a plurality ofenvironmental sensors 62 that gather various types of information about the external environment. Preferably, this plurality ofenvironmental sensors 62 comprises a rangefinder, and a proximity sensor. The rangefinder enables the user to determine the distance between themselves and the target. The proximity sensor adds a secondary level of security such that themicrocontroller 6 is able to activate thelocking mechanism 4 and secure the firearms within thebag 1 if a person comes within a predefined distance of the present invention. Thedisplay device 64 is mounted onto the exterior of thebag 1. Thus positioned, thedisplay device 64 enables the user to view a digital representation of the data gathered by theenvironmental sensor 62. Thedrone 7 may be stored in one of theauxiliary pockets 16 and is communicably coupled to themicrocontroller 6 through the wireless radio 65. Accordingly, thedrone 7 enables the user to get a wider view of the surrounding area and to record shots taken. Data captured thedrone 7 is displayed on thedisplay device 64. In some embodiments a hydration bladder is mounted within the interior compartment. Thus, enabling the user to carry water as well as weapons. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Claims (13)
1. A weapon transport bag comprising:
a bag;
plurality of weapon racks;
a bulletproof liner;
a support assembly;
at least one handle;
the plurality of weapon racks subdividing an interior compartment of the bag;
the bulletproof liner being integrated into the bag;
the support assembly being laterally mounted to the bag;
the handle being laterally attached to the bag; and
the handle being positioned offset from the support assembly, across the bag.
2. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
the bulletproof liner being a baseplate; and
the baseplate being positioned within a base portion of the bag.
3. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a lid; and
the lid being mounted over an opening of the interior compartment.
4. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a locking mechanism;
a biometric sensor;
the locking mechanism being integrated in between the lid and the bag; and
the biometric sensor being communicably coupled to the locking mechanism, wherein the biometric sensor generates signals that direct the locking mechanism to transition between a locked and an unlocked state.
5. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
at least one auxiliary pocket; and
the auxiliary pocket being laterally attached to the bag.
6. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
at the support assembly comprising a first length-adjustable leg and a second length-adjustable leg;
the first length-adjustable leg being hingedly connected to the bag; and
the second length-adjustable leg being hingedly connected to the bag.
7. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 6 comprising:
at the support assembly further comprising a ballistics shield; and
the ballistics shield being connected in between the first leg and the second leg.
8. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a microcontroller;
a GPS unit;
the microcontroller and the GPS unit being mounted within the bag; and
the GPS unit being electronically connected to the microcontroller.
9. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 8 comprising:
at least one environmental sensor;
the environmental sensor being mounted onto the bag; and
the environmental sensor being electronically connected to the microcontroller.
10. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 8 comprising:
a display device;
the display device being mounted onto the bag; and
the display device being electronically connected to the microcontroller.
11. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 8 comprising:
a wireless radio;
a drone;
the wireless radio being integrated into the microcontroller; and
the drone being communicably coupled to the microcontroller through the wireless radio.
12. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
each of the plurality of weapon racks comprising a rack body and a plurality of anchor points; and
the plurality of anchor points being distributed across the rack body.
13. The weapon transport bag as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a plurality of spacing tabs;
the plurality of spacing tabs being distributed around the interior compartment; and
each of the plurality of weapon racks being pressed against a pair of spacing tabs from the plurality of spacing tabs.
