Abstract

The present invention discloses a mouthguard. The mouthguard includes an occlusion unit to be bitten by teeth between the maxilla and the mandible of a wearer. A front end of the occlusion unit is connected to a protector for protection. The occlusion unit and the protector are transfixed with an exhalation opening, and the protector is provided with a groove unit to emplace a fixing body. The fixing body is provided with a fan which can rotate relatively on the fixing body, so that the wearer can inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth to breathe, which drives the fan to rotate, thereby increasing the vital capacity.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

a) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a mouthguard, and more particularly to a mouthguard that can protect a wearer's incisors and increase the vital capacity of wearer at a same time.

b) Description of the Prior Art

A sport brace is used primarily to protect the incisors; when a jaw is hit, the sport brace can absorb part of impact force and protect the mandibular joint as well. Therefore, in the past, the sport braces are used frequently in the sports with a strong impact force, such as boxing, wrestling or Taekwondo.
However, as the continuous increase in the consciousness of self-protection, athletes will start using the sport braces while doing the sports in which their heads may be impacted. In addition, there are even studies abroad showing that when the athletes wear the sport braces, their performance will improve. It is speculated that when the athletes use their muscle power instantaneously, the teeth will create a strong occlusion force as well, and the soft materials in the sport braces can buffer the occlusion force to achieve the effect of stress relaxation.
The conventional braces are only capable of protecting the athletes' teeth, and if the vital capacity of the athletes can be increased when the athletes bite the braces, the practicality of the braces can be increased significantly.
Accordingly, there are still some shortcomings in the abovementioned conventional braces, which are indeed not a good design and thus need improvement badly.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a mouthguard that can protect a wearer's incisors and simultaneously increase the vital capacity of wearer by training.
To achieve the abovementioned object, the mouthguard of the present invention comprises an occlusion unit. The occlusion unit provides for biting of teeth between the maxilla and the mandible of a wearer, and a front end of the occlusion unit is connected to a protector. After the wearer bites on the occlusion unit, the protector is disposed on an outer edge of lips to achieve the protection effect. In addition, the occlusion unit and the protector are transfixed with an exhalation opening, and the protector is formed with a groove unit which is emplaced with a fixing body. The fixing body is pivoted with a fan which can rotate with respect to the fixing body.
A front rim and an inner rim of the occlusion unit, according to the present invention, are provided respectively with an outer baffle and an inner baffle. Through the disposition of outer baffle and inner baffle, the wearer can stably bite on the occlusion unit.
In addition, the fan of present invention is pivoted in the fixing body through a fixing element, so that the fan can rotate in the fixing body.
Accordingly, when the wearer bites, he or she can inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth to breath, and drive the fan to rotate, thereby increasing the vital capacity effectively.
The biggest difference between the present invention and a conventional mouthguard is that the conventional mouthguard can only provide for the biting protection of the wearer, without any other application. Whereas, in addition to that the mouthguard of present invention can provide for the biting protection of the wearer, the exhalation opening is further provided with a fan for training the vital capacity of wearer by rotating the fan through the exhalation of wearer.
To enable a further understanding of the said objectives and the technological methods of the invention herein, the brief description of the drawings below is followed by the detailed description of the preferred embodiments.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

For the examiners to better understand the abovementioned and other objects, the technical features, and the advantages of the present invention, the present invention is hereinafter described in details with a preferred embodiment and the accompanying drawings.
Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a mouthguard of the present invention provides for a wearer to bite with the teeth between the maxilla and the mandible. The mouthguard comprises an occlusion unit 1, a protector 14, a fixing body 2, and a fan 3. The occlusion unit 1 is a plate in a thickness, and two sides of the occlusion unit 1 are provided respectively with plural projections 11, in order to provide for skid proofing of biting by a wearer. A front edge of the occlusion unit 1 is provided with an outer baffle 12, forming respectively an upper brace and a lower brace on the upper side and the lower side between the outer baffle 12 and the occlusion unit 1, for biting by the wearer. In addition, an inner edge of the mouthguard is provided with an inner baffle 13. Through the disposition of the inner baffle 13 and the outer baffle 12, the wearer is able to bite more stably.
The protector 14 is disposed at the front edge of the outer baffle 12 through a connector 15. The protector 14 is in an arc shape, and a gap is formed between the protector 14 and the outer baffle 12 through the provision of the connector 15. When the wearer bites the mouthguard of the present invention, as the lips are disposed in the gap, they can be protected. On the other hand, an exhaling opening 16 is transfixed between the protector 14 and the occlusion unit 1 to provide breathing for the wearer. In addition, an outer edge of the protector 14 is provided with a groove unit 17; more specifically, the groove unit 17 is a round notch and is interconnected with the exhaling opening 16.
The fixing body 2 is emplaced in the groove unit 17 of the protector 14. The fixing body 2 is provided with a holding chamber 21, and a center of the holding chamber 21 is provided with a bore hole 22. Furthermore, two sides of the bore hole 22 are provided respectively with a through hole 23 which are interconnected with the exhalation opening 16.
The fan 3 is emplaced in the holding chamber 21 of the fixing body 2 and is pivoted on the fixing body 2 through a fixing element 4, so that the fan 3 can rotate in the fixing body 2. More specifically, the fixing element 4 penetrates the bore hole 22 of the fixing body 2 from the occlusion unit 1 toward the protector 14, and is then pivoted with the fan 3, thereby achieving the abovementioned object.
When the wearer bites on the mouthguard, he or she can inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth mandatorily to carry out a respiratory training. When the wearer exhales, air is exhaled from the exhalation opening 16 and passes through the through holes 23 to drive the fan 3 to rotate. As the fan 3 will cause the wearer hard to inhale, it can force the wearer to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouse for breathing, thereby increasing the vita capacity.
It is of course to be understood that the embodiments described herein is merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and that a wide variety of modifications thereto may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A mouthguard comprising:

an occlusion unit, a front edge of which is provided with an outer baffle, forming respectively an upper brace and a lower brace on an upper side and a lower side between the outer baffle and the occlusion unit; and

a protector which is disposed at a front edge of the outer baffle through a connector;

wherein an interior of a groove unit in a center of the protector is provided with a fixing body, and a center of a holding chamber on the fixing body is provided with a bore hole as well as a fan, with the fan being pivoted in the holding chamber of the fixing body.

2. The mouthguard according to claim 1, wherein two sides of the bore hole of the fixing body are provided respectively with a through hole.
