  • The Walking Wristlet Glam Towel (WWGT) was created out of necessity. As an avid walker and an occasional gym participant, I always need a towel. I would go to the gym with a towel or start my walk with a towel but at the end of my workout, my towel would be gone. I dropped it along the way or it fell on the gym floor and I couldn't use it anymore. To avoid this problem, I came up with several different ways to keep my towel with me during my workouts. Here are some of the methods I used: hooking my towel to my pants; caring several towels in my gym bag; attaching the towel to my fanny-pack; or simply holding it in my hand; needless to say not any of these methods worked.
  • Finally, I came up with the idea of wearing the towel on my wrist by attaching the towel to an elastic band cover with a cloth (scrunchy or ponytail holder). Hence, the creation of the WWGT it's a simple idea that resolved my problem/issue of losing my gym towel.
  • Basically, I use existing items (washcloth and ponytail holder) to create a hands free towel that can be used by all to rid themselves of excessive sweat not only in a gym or exercise environment, but during any physical activity. Women suffering with hot flashes also love the WWGT.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

  • FIG. 1A—13″×6.5″ washcloth
  • FIG. 2AFIG. 2A an elastic band cover with cloth (outside diameter approx. 4¼ inches, unexpanded inner diameter approx. 1¼ inches)
  • FIG. 1B—washcloth folded in half to make a 6.5″×6.5″ square
  • FIG. 1C—three sides of the washcloth are stitched together
  • FIG. 1D—the elastic band FIG. 2A is stitched to the corner of the square
  • FIG. 1E—Completed WWGT
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The Walking Wristlet Glam Towel is made with existing products (1) an elastic band covered by cotton and (2) a washcloth (a cloth for washing one's face and body, typically made of terry cloth or other absorbent material). The washcloth was chosen because of its absorbing ability and it's softness since the WWGT is used to remove sweat ideally from the face and neck areas while performing moderate exercise such as walking, running, or riding a stationary bike, etc. The cotton handkerchief was considered, but it was too abrasive and does not absorbs the sweat like the washcloth. Because it is a hand-free towel, it is very convenient and doesn't get in the way of the person exercise routine it simply hangs from the wrist.
  • How is it made? A 13″×13″ washcloth is cut it in half then folded which makes a perfect 6.5″ square. The sides are stitched together this makes the washcloth thicker and it can absorb a lot of sweat. Once the three sides are stitched together, an elastic band is attached to the corner (it doesn't matter which corner). The elastic band can expand up to eight inches; therefore, it can fit a vast variety of wrists sizes. In order to make the WWGT look more feminine and cool, I add buttons, rhinestones, ribbons, lace, etc. It also gives WWGT a unique appearance as it hangs off the wrist. In addition to wearing WWGT on the wrist, it can be hung on the treadmill or elliptical while working out.
