Abstract
An exerciser includes an object rotatable about a longitudinal axis. The object includes an outer surface and an inner surface opposite to the outer surface. The inner surface includes an axle seat extending along the longitudinal axis. A receiving space is defined between the inner surface and the axle seat. An axle is rotatably coupled to the axle seat of the object. The axle includes two ends extending beyond the outer surface of the object. Two jackets are mounted around the two ends of the axle. At least one weight is removably received in the receiving space of the object for increasing an overall weight of the exerciser.
Description
- The present invention relates to an exerciser and, more particularly, to an exerciser including an axle extending through an object and configured to be held by one or both hands of a user to move the object vertically or to push and pull the object on the ground for exercising various muscle groups of the body of the user.
- Among exercisers for exercising various muscle groups of the body, a type of exerciser having an abdomen exercising wheel is used to train waist muscles and abdomen muscles. The abdomen exercising wheel includes a wheel having circular cross sections and a handle extending through the wheel. The wheel can be placed on the ground, and a user can kneel on the ground with two hands gripping the handle. Thus, the user can roll the wheel forwards through a distance and then pull the wheel back, thereby stretching the waist muscles and abdomen muscles. Another type of exerciser includes an elastic cord having two handles on two ends thereof for proceeding stretching movement of the hands and legs. Specifically, the user can step on the elastic cord with one or both legs and stretching the pull string with both hands, thereby stretching the muscle groups at the arms, hands, waist, or legs. A further type of exerciser includes a barbell structure having a rod and two weight plates on two ends of the rod. The user can grip the rod with both hands to proceed with snatching or cleaning and jerking. Weight plates of different weights can be disposed on the two ends of the rod to provide different combinations. Furthermore, dumbbells of different pounds allow users to proceed with arm training by moving a dumbbell vertically with one hand.
- The above exercisers have different arrangements and operations. For example, the abdomen exercising wheel is light and only useful to roll on the ground for exercising the abdomen muscles, but is not suitable in weight lifting as provided by dumbbells or barbells. Dumbbells and barbells permit weight lifting with one or both hands, but are not suitable for rolling on the ground like abdomen exercising wheels. As for the elastic cord structure, they can only allow stretching and elastic returning, but cannot be combine with generally available abdomen exercising wheels, dumbbells, or barbells. Thus, a need exists for a novel exerciser that mitigates and/or obviates the above drawbacks.
- In a first aspect, the present invention provides an exerciser including:
- an object rotatable about a longitudinal axis, wherein the object includes an outer surface and an inner surface opposite to the outer surface, wherein the inner surface includes an axle seat extending along the longitudinal axis, and wherein a receiving space is defined between the inner surface and the axle seat;
- an axle rotatably coupled to the axle seat of the object, wherein the axle includes two ends extending beyond the outer surface of the object;
- two jackets mounted around the two ends of the axle; and
- at least one weight removably received in the receiving space of the object for increasing an overall weight of the exerciser.
- In an example, two limiting flanges are disposed on the outer surface of the object and are spaced from each other along the longitudinal axis. An anti-slip ring is disposed around a maximum diameter of the outer surface of the object and is located between the two limiting flanges. The anti-slip ring has a thickness greater than a height of each of the two limiting flanges.
- In an example, the object includes a first half shell and a second half shell detachably coupled with the first half shell. The axle further includes a first section and a second section aligned with the first section along the longitudinal axis. The first section is disposed on the first half shell. The second section is disposed on the second half shell. At least one partitioning board is disposed between an outer periphery of the axle seat and the inner surface of the object and has two portions respectively disposed in the first half shell and the second half shell. The first half shell includes a plurality of through-holes spaced from each other in a circumferential direction about the longitudinal axis. The second half shell includes a plurality of screw holes respectively aligned with the plurality of through-holes of the first half shell. A plurality of screws extends through the plurality of through-holes of the first half shell and threadedly couples with the plurality of screw holes.
- In an example, two positioning members are coupled to the two ends of the axle, respectively. Each of two ends of an elastic cord unit is detachably coupled with a respective one of the two positioning members.
- In an example, the elastic cord unit includes:
- two elastic cords each including two ends, wherein each of the two elastic cords includes a first hook and a second hook attached to the two ends thereof, respectively, wherein each first hook is detachably coupled with a respective one of the two positioning members; and
- a positioning strap including two side flaps, wherein each of the two side flaps has a coupling ring, wherein each second hook is detachably coupled with the coupling ring of a respective one of the two side flaps, and wherein the positioning strap is non-stretchable and includes a protective pad on a surface thereof.
- In an example of use of the exerciser, the elastic cord unit is detached from the two ends of the axle of the object. In this example, a user grips the two jackets on two ends of the axle and kneels down on the ground. After placing the anti-slip ring of the object on the ground, the user can roll the object back and forth on the ground, such that the user can bend the waist upwards and downwards, thereby exercising the muscles at the waist, abdomen, arms, and back of the user. In another example of use, the user can grip the sleeves on the axle rod with both hands and can lift the object (with the weights) upwards or lift the object (with or without the weights) up and down, achieving exercising effects as provided by a barbell.
- Alternatively, the elastic cord unit can be attached to the two ends of the axle on the object with the weights. Namely, two hooks respectively of the two elastic cords are coupled with the positioning members on the axle. Thus, the user can hold the jackets on the two ends of the axle and can kneel on the protective pad which provides a comfort, protecting effect. Then, the user can roll the object back and forth on the ground to exercise the muscles at the waist, abdomen, arms, and back of the user. Since the user has to pull the two elastic cords, the load is increased to further exercise the muscles. Furthermore, the elastic returning forces of the two elastic cords provide the user with a force-saving effect during the returning movement of the two elastic cords.
- In an alternative embodiment, an exerciser according to the present invention includes an object rotatable about a longitudinal axis. Two positioning members are coupled to the two ends of the axle, respectively. An elastic cord unit includes two ends. Each of the two ends of the elastic cord unit is detachably coupled with a respective one of the two positioning members. In an example, the elastic cord unit includes two elastic cords and a positioning strap. Each of the two elastic cords includes a first hook and a second hook attached to two ends thereof, respectively. Each first hook is detachably coupled with a respective one of the two positioning members. The positioning strap includes two side flaps. Each of the two side flaps has a coupling ring. Each second hook is detachably coupled with the coupling ring of a respective one of the two side flaps. The positioning strap is non-stretchable and includes a protective pad on a surface thereof. Furthermore, two limiting flanges are disposed on the outer surface of the object and are spaced from each other along the longitudinal axis. An anti-slip ring is disposed around a maximum diameter of the outer surface of the object and is located between the two limiting flanges. The anti-slip ring has a thickness greater than a height of each of the two limiting flanges.
- Since the exerciser includes the elastic cord unit, even if the object does not receive the at least one weight, the user can kneel on the protective pad of the elastic cord unit and can roll the object back and forth on the ground by gripping the two ends of the axle. Furthermore, in a sitting position in which the feet of the user abut against the protective pad or a standing position in which the feet of the user stand on the protective pad, the user can grip the two ends of the axle and can move the object backwards or upwards while stretching the two elastic cords, which increases the load for exercising the muscles of the body.

- In this exerciser, the user can grip the handle to lift the object, proceeding with an exercising effect like a dumbbell. Alternatively, in the case that the elastic cord is attached, the elastic cord increases the load while lifting the object, and the elastic returning force of the elastic cord can rapidly return the object from a certain height to its original position, shortening the time for retuning.
