  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention
  • The invention relates to a stock for all types of rifle, armed or not, providing cheek/aiming and shoulder/height adjustment for the rifle user, having a cheek rest and a butt, wherein the stock comprises mechanisms made of plastic and/or composite and/or plastic derivative and/or composite derivative material, providing installation of the cheek rest and butt to the main body and movement on the main body.
  • 2. Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 37 CFR 1.98
  • At the present time, in order to absorb the recoil force generated by the knockback of exhaust gases during shots with rifles, stocks are produced on them. Stocks are gun parts made from wooden or metallic materials, providing absorption of recoil force resulting from shooting with firearms such as rifle, guns, etc. via shoulder support by resting against thereon.
  • While aiming with guns, stock should precisely fit on shoulder and thereby properly reduce the knockback. By resting the stock upon the shooter's shoulder, a retaining surface is formed. In order for the barrel not to rise up during shooting, and to perform an accurate and targeted shoot, there is a requirement for the stock to be fit precisely to the shoulder's cavity. For this purpose, there is a butt section at the back of the stock, on which the shoulder is placed, for absorbing the recoil force by also taking into account the user's physical characteristics and the shooting position. In firearms such as rifles and guns, in order to facilitate aiming and absorb the recoil force arising from shooting, adjustment of the butt is provided by moving it fore and back with regard to the stock body taking the physical characteristics of the user into consideration.
  • On the main body of these stocks, there is a cheek rest section, on which the cheek is placed, in order to obtain the most appropriate aiming by considering the physical characteristics and the shooting position of the user. Cheek rest enables the up-down adjustment of the surface, on which the cheek will be placed, with the purpose of facilitating aiming in firearms such as rifles, guns, etc.
  • Butt and cheek rest are parts moveable on the stock body, providing adjustment of the stock length according to person's physical properties (shoulder, arm and face) in all rifles, armed or not. In prior art, connections, which are used for installation and movement of the butt and the cheek rest on the stock body, are usually manufactured from hard metallic materials and aluminum-aluminum alloys through machining methods. Products of metallic materials are subject to deformation after the impact to be absorbed. It causes long-term labor and time loss due to machining difficulties. In addition, the costs of the mechanisms produced by machining are also quite high.
  • In existing systems, the adjustment of cheek rest and butt rubbers is performed by loosening clamping and fastening elements such as bolts, screws, etc. and then re-tightening these.
  • In the patent search conducted in the prior art, the utility model document titled “Rifle Stock with Cheek Support Distance Adjustment” and registered under 2013 01714 also by us was found.
  • In the said utility model and subject product, the cheek rest mechanism is mounted to the stock body via metal connection parts and able to move on the body.
  • As a result, the existence of the above problems and the inadequacy of the existing solutions necessitated an improvement in the technical field related to the connection of mechanisms providing adjustment of the cheek rest and butt to the stocks.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main purpose of the invention is to provide a mechanism used for all types of rifle, armed or not, to provide installation and movement of the cheek rest and butt, which enable cheek/aiming and shoulder/height adjustment for the rifle user, on the stock, wherein the mechanisms are produced from plastic, composite, plastic derivative or composite derivative materials. Manufacture of installation and movements mechanisms thereby is provided to be performed with injection molding techniques in mass production and thus production speeds are increased and costs are reduced.
  • One of the main objects of the present invention is also to provide simplified adjustment with a button without using connection elements such as bolts, screws, etc. needed for the adjustment of cheek rest and butt rubbers. In addition, thanks to the saw tooth structure included in the design, movement steps of the cheek rest and butt rubbers are minimized so that the user can adjust the cheek rest and butt rubbers easily at the desired degree.
  • The object of the invention is to provide easy installation and quick movement of the cheek rest and butt on to the stock by producing the mechanisms providing installation and movement of cheek rest and butt on the stock from plastic and derivative, composite and derivative materials.
  • It is a further object of the invention to provide reduction in the rifle weight and long life to the stock by producing the installation and movement mechanisms of cheek rest and butt from durable and lightweight plastic or composite materials.
  • It is a further object of the invention to prevent (minimize) deformation of the butt and cheek rest while being subjected to any stress during movement on the stock or during impacts on the shoulder.
  • Another novelty introduced with our invention is that its production speed is high and production costs are minimal as it is produced preferably from plastics, composites and their derivatives or other molding materials such as aluminum through molding technology, preventing the costs rising from machining.
