Abstract

A golf club head includes a club head body having an opening located on a crown thereof and a bearing flange extended around the periphery of the opening, a top cover covering the opening of the crown of the club head body with the periphery thereof abutted against the bearing flange of the crown of the club head body, and a plurality of screws detachably affix the top cover to the bearing flange of the club head body. In this way, the top cover of the gold club head of the present invention can be replaced a different one of a different material at any time according to actual needs, thereby generating a different center of gravity configuration to obtain a different ball hitting effect.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to golf club technology, and more particularly, to a golf club head, which allows replacement of the top cover with a different material to change the center of gravity configuration.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • In order to make the golf club head achieve the best ball hitting effect, a counterweight is generally used to change the center of gravity of the golf club head, thereby improving the stability of the swing and assisting the user to effectively hit the ball so as to increase the flight distance of the ball.
  • However, the conventional golf club head is mainly made by a casting technique in an integrally formed manner, and the counterweight is combined with the golf club head in a mosaic manner. However, such a structure is difficult to adjust the counterweight at any time in response to the needs of the user. So, there is a need for improvement.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a golf club head, which allows replacement of the top cover with a different material at any time according to actual needs, thereby generating a different center of gravity configuration to obtain a different ball hitting effect.
  • To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a golf club head comprises a club head body, a top cover, and a plurality of screws. The club head body comprises a crown, a sole, a face and a toe. The face is integrally connected with the crown and the sole and the toe is integrally connected with the crown, the sole and the face so that the crown, the sole, the face and the toe surround a chamber. Further, the crown comprises an opening disposed in communication with the chamber, and a bearing flange extended around the periphery of the opening. The top cover covers the opening of the crown of the club head body with the periphery thereof abutted against the bearing flange of the crown of the club head body. The screws detachably fasten the periphery of the top cover to the bearing flange of the crown of the club head body.
  • As can be seen from the above, the golf club head of the present invention allows replacement of the top cover with different materials (for example, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, carbon fiber, fiberglass or plastic, etc.) according to the needs of the user as long as the screws are removed by a hand tool. After the new top cover is replaced and the screws are re-locked, the golf club head of the invention can have a different center of gravity configuration to achieve a different ball hitting effect.
  • Preferably, the crown of the club head body further comprises a plurality of female threaded barrels located on the bearing flange. The top cover comprises a plurality of perforations located on the periphery thereof and respectively fastened to the female threaded barrels by the screws. Further, each screw comprises a head located in one respective perforation, and a threaded shank connected with the head and threaded into one respective female threaded barrel.
  • Preferably, the number of the screws is 3, and one of these three screws is positioned close to the face of the club head body, and the other two of these three screws are positioned close to the toe of the club head body. This way you can take advantage of the changes in the number, position, and material of these screws to further fine-tune the center of gravity configuration.
  • The detailed construction, features, assembly or use of the golf club head provided by the present invention will be described in the detailed description of the subsequent preferred embodiment. However, those of ordinary skill in the art should understand that the detailed description and specific embodiments of the present invention are merely used to illustrate the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the patent application.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an oblique top elevational view of a golf club head in accordance with the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the golf club head in accordance with the present invention.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of the golf club head in accordance with the present invention.
  • FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 3.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The applicant first explains here, in the embodiment and drawings, which will be described below, the same reference numerals denote the same or similar elements or structural features thereof.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a golf club head 10 in accordance with the present invention is shown. The golf club head 10 comprises a club head body 20, a top cover 30, and a plurality of screws 40.
  • The club head body 20 can be made of titanium, stainless steel, aluminum or carbon fiber. The club head body 20 comprises a crown 21, a sole 22, a face 23, and a toe 24. The face 23 is integrally connected with the crown 21 and the sole 22, and the toe 24 is integrally connected with the crown 21, the sole 22 and the face 23, as shown in FIGS. 2-4, so that the crown 21, the sole 22, the face 23 and the toe 24 surround a chamber 25. Further, as shown in FIG. 2, the crown 21 has an opening 26 disposed in communication with the chamber 25, a bearing flange 27 extended around the periphery of the opening 26, and a plurality of female threaded barrel 28 located on the bearing flange 27. More specifically, three female threaded barrels 28 are located on the bearing flange 27, one of which is close to the face 23, the other two are close to the toe 24.
  • The top cover 30 can be made of aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, carbon fiber, fiberglass or plastic. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the top cover 30, the top cover 30 covers the opening 26 of the crown 21 of the club head body 20, and the periphery of the top cover 30 abuts the bearing flange 27 of the crown 21 of the club head body 20. In addition, the periphery of the top cover 30 has a plurality of perforations 32. More specifically, the periphery of the top cover 30 has three perforations 32 that correspond to the female threaded barrels 28 in a one-to-one manner.
  • Each screw 40 has a head 42 and a threaded shank 44 that connects the head 42. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, the head 42 is located in one respective perforation 32 of the top cover 30, and the threaded shank 44 is threaded into the corresponding female threaded barrel 28 at the bearing flange 27 of the crown 21 of the club head body 20. Thus, these screws 40 can detachably combine the bearing flange 27 of the crown 21 of the club head body 20 with the periphery of the top cover 30. After the assembly is completed, as shown in FIG. 3, one of the screws 40 is positioned close to the face 23 of the club head body 20, and the other two screws 40 are positioned close to the toe 24 of the club head body 20.
  • As can be seen from the above, the top cover 30 of the golf club head 10 of the present invention can be replaced with different materials (such as aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, carbon fiber, fiberglass or plastic) according to the user's own needs as long as all the screws 40 are removed by using a hand tool (such as a screw driver). After the new top cover 30 is replaced and each screw 40 is re-locked, the golf club head 10 of the present invention provides a different center of gravity configuration, thereby obtaining a different ball hitting effect. In addition to replacing the top cover 30 of different materials, you can also use the screws 40 in terms of quantity, position and material to further fine-tune the center of gravity configuration. For example, one or more screws 40 can be added near the toe 24 of the club head body 20, either one of them with a plastic screw and the other two with metal screws (such as carbon steel, stainless steel or copper. Of course, it can be reversed, that is, one of the screws is made of metal (such as carbon steel, stainless steel or copper), the other two are made of plastic, and even the three screws are made of different materials (such as carbon steel, stainless steel, copper or plastic). This can be combined with the material changes of the top cover 30 to form a structure with the best center of gravity configuration.
