(01. 30-30) This invention relates to a shaving equipment; and has for one of its objects the provision of a complete shaving unit. for limited use, consisting not only of the razor but also of sufficient shaving cream for at least one shave.

' Another object of the invention is the provi- F sion of a razor constructed in a very inexpensive manner so that the same may be cheaply sold and discarded after a single use and having sufilcie'nt shaving cream available in the handle thereof for a single shave.

Another object or the invention is the pro-- vision of a shaving unit the construction of p which will be such that it will be very efilclent in use and yet one which may be dispensed in an automatic vending machine at a price suffl ciently low so that after a single use the same may be discarded in the same manner as a paper drinking cup.

Another object of the invention is to form the blade holding portion and the shaving paste hold-' ing portion all in a single piece, pressed and cut out so that these portions. will perform the desired functions.

easily forgotten by one traveling; and in order to fill a want such as indicated above, I have provided a very cheap razor which may be sold by means of an automatic vending machine; and

. I have equipped the razor with a sufficient quantity of paste or shaving cream for a single shave, the entire unit being so designed that it may be sold at a price so cheap that the razor may be discarded after it is once used, a blade being permanently mounted therein and not intended for removal for drying; and I have accomplished these results by forming this holder for the blade and the cream out of paper or some compressible material which can be stiffened by suitable treatment and preserved by waxing or the like; and the following is a more detailed description of the present embodiment of this invention, illustrating the preferred means by which these advantageous results may be accomplished:

With reference to the drawing, I have shown in Figure 4 a sheet of material of the general outline or configuration which I blank out from some heavy paper. This blank is then pressed in dies to deflect it into a trough-shaped handle i5 with-edge flanges as at H and ribs I 6 which are cut out at their ends to form fingers Ill. yond the end of the handle, as shown in Figure 1, for convenient access to be grasped by the fingers and pull the cover from its position, leaving a complete exposure of the paste andeasy access thereto for use. This cover is sealed in position by parafiine wax along itsperipheral edges, and in fact the entire device is dipped in paraifine wax so as to repel moisture maintaining the entirestructure stiff and in the form it is desired the same shall remain for its most effective usefulness. The dipping into paramne wax also serves to preserve the blade against rust, and the same is easily melted or washed off by hot water when it is desired to use the razor.

Further, the structure is made of paper and is combustible except for the metal blade which being relatively small permits the entire structure to be safely deposited in the waste paper basket for disposal. K

The foregoing description is directed solely towards the construction illustrated, but I desire it to be understood that I reserve the privilege of resorting to all the mechanical changes to which the device is susceptible, the inventionbeing defined and limited only by the terms of the appended claims.

I claim:

l. A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream.

2. A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and ,a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a

razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving cream in the trough of said handle, a detachable cover extending lengthwiseof said handle and completely covering said cream, and means along the peripheral-margin of said cover for sealing the same in place to form an'air tight pocket for said cream. j I

A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom of a shape, to accommodate the end portion of the human finger for removing a paste therefrom, a 10 razor mounted at saidmounting end, shaving cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream. A 'shaving unit comprising a holder having 15 a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom of a shape to accommodate the end portion of the human finger for removing a paste therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving 20 cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream, the end of said handle being inclined up to the edge thereof.

A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and so a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream, said holder being read- 00 ily combustible for easy disposalthereof.

A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving g5 cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream, said holder being of paper suitably treated to stiii'en the same and render it moisture-repellant. 7

A'shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving cream inthe trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream, said handle having an abutment surface between its end and the blade extending to the bottom of said trough for the support of said cover.

A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream, said cover being of transparent material.

A shaving unit comprising a holder having a razor blade mounting structure at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a razor mounted at said mounting end, shaving cream in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said cream, and a tab on said cover extending beyond the end thereof for easy removal of the cover from position.

A safety razor comprising a handle with an acute angle blade holder portion, a blade, said holder portion provided with a plurality of fingers extending over the upper edge of the blade and forcing it against said mounting portion, some of said fingers being adjacent the ends of the blade and continuous across its width and hooking over the cutting edge and corner thereof to prevent the blade corners from contacting the user.

14. A safety razor comprising a handle with an acute angle blade holder portion, a blade,

said holder portion provided with a plurality of guard fingers on one side of the blade protruding therebeyond, and a plurality of fingers extending over the upper edge of the blade and forcing it against said mounting portion, some of 5 said fingers being adjacent the ends of the blade and continuing across its width and hooking over the cutting edge thereof.

15. A safety razor comprising a handle with an acute angle blade holder portion, a blade, said holder portion consisting of a single piece of sheet stock, said blade resting thereon, a plurality of fingers raised from the stock of said holder portion and extending over the other side of said blade, two of said fingers adjacent the ends of the blade being longer than the others and continuing across its width and bent over the cutting edge thereof to hold the blade in place.

16. In a toilet unit, an implement at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a paste in the trough of said handle, and a detachable cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said paste.

17. In a toilet unit, an implement at one end and a trough-shaped handle extending therefrom, a paste in the trough of said handle, a detach- 1 able cover extending lengthwise of said handle and covering said paste, and means along the peripheral margin of said cover for sealing the cover in place to form an air tight pocket for said $0 paste.
