  • The disclosure and prior art relates to display devices and more particularly pertains to a new display device for displaying sports cards.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a table that has a plurality of indicia printed thereon. The indicia comprise markings associated with a hockey rink. A plurality of sports cards is each positionable on the table for displaying the sports cards and to simulate positioning of players on respective teams. A window is removably positioned on the table for protecting the sports cards.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a sports memorabilia display assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a top exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a right side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new display device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the sports memorabilia display assembly 10 generally comprises a table 12 that has a top surface 14 and a perimeter edge 16. The top surface 14 has a plurality of indicia 18 printed thereon and the indicia 18 comprising markings 20 associated with a hockey rink. The markings 20 include a red center line 22, a center faceoff circle 24 and dot, blue lines 26 and blue line faceoff dots 28. Additionally, the markings 20 include attacking zone faceoff circles 30 complete with hash marks 32 and faceoff dots 34. The markings 20 further include goal lines 36, goal creases 38 and goals trapezoids 40. Alternatively, the markings 20 may include markings 20 associated with a Major League Baseball field, a National Football League football field and any other sports field or court.
  • A plurality of sports cards 42, such as collectible hockey player cards or the like, are positionable on the top surface 14. Additionally, the sports cards 42 may be arranged to simulate positioning of actual players on respective teams. A plurality of legs 44 is each of the legs 44 is coupled to and extends downwardly from the table 12. Each of the legs 44 abuts a support surface 46, such as a floor or the like, to elevate the table 12 from the support surface. The table 12 may have a length ranging between approximately 90.0 cm and 150.0 cm and a width ranging between approximately 50.0 cm and 75.0 cm.
  • A window 48 is provided and the window 48 is removably positioned on the table 12. The window 48 is comprised of a translucent material such that the sports cards 42 are visible through the window 48. Additionally, the window 48 is comprised of a fluid impermeable material to protect the sports cards 42 from moisture, food, dirt and other contaminants. The window 48 has a primary surface 50 and an outer edge 52, and the window 48 may be comprised of Plexiglas or other shatter resistant material. In this way the window 48 can be safely handled and moved on and off the table 12. The primary surface 50 rests on the top surface 14 when the window 48 is positioned on the table 12 and the outer edge 52 of the window 48 is coextensive with the perimeter edge 16 of the table 12.
  • In use, the sports cards 42 are positioned on the top surface 14 of the table 12 and the sports cards 42 are arranged to simulate positioning of the actual players in respective teams. The window 48 is positioned on the top surface 14 of the table 12 thereby covering the sports cards 42. Thus, the sports cards 42 are visible on the table 12 while being protected from moisture, food, dirt and other contaminants. In this way the sports cards 42 may be viewed and enjoyed while a televised sporting event is being viewed. The window 48 is removable from the table 12 at any time to add sports cards 42, remove sports cards 42 or rearrange the sports cards 42.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
