Abstract

The current invention is an item catch device that has an innovatively design to fit between a surface like a wall and a piece of furniture such as a desk. The device is comprised of a long, rectangular or circular base that has sponge-like material on its two sides with an open top. The sponge-like mater allows that catch device to sit against the wall to hold the device in place while ensuring it will not leave marks on the wall. The catch device has two end with a handle on each of the ends. The device has a cavity formed by the two ends and sides into which the items drop.

Description

    CROSS-REFERENCES TO RELATED APPLICATIONS (IF ANY)
  • None.
  • BACKGROUND 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to fallen item catcher and more particularly one that fits between furniture and a wall.
  • 2. Description of Prior Art
  • The space between the furniture and the wall tends to be the place where all the little objects magically disappear. One second a favorite necklace or trusty pen is on the top of the desk where it is supposed to be and the next it's nowhere to be found.
  • There is still room for improvement in the art.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The current invention is a item catch device that is innovatively designed to fit between a surface like a wall and a piece of furniture such as a desk.
  • It is comprised of a long, rectangular or cylindrical base that has sponge-like material cover it on on its two sides. The sponge-like mater allows that catch device to sit against the wall to hold the device in place while ensuring it will not leave marks on the wall. The narrow device has an open top, allowing the misplaced objects to fall and be caught. The catch device has two end with a handle on each of the ends. A catch device can be pulled out by the handle to check for any fallen item. The length can vary depending on the need. The catch device is pulled out by its convenient side handle.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Without restricting the full scope of this invention, the preferred form of this invention is illustrated in the following drawings:
  • FIG. 1 shows the left right side elevated view of the catch device;
  • FIG. 2 shows a right side view of the catch device;
  • FIG. 3 shows a front right view of the catch device; and
  • FIG. 4 shows the catch device being used between a desk and a wall.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • The current invention is an item catch device 1 that is innovatively designed to fit between a surface like a wall 200 and a piece of furniture 100 such as a desk. As shown in FIGS. 1 through 4, the catch device 1 is comprised of a long, rectangular, cylindrical or circular base 10. The base 10 has sponge-like material on its two sides, left side 20 and right side 30. The sponge-like material allows that catch device to sit against the wall 200 to hold the catch device 1 in place while ensuring it will not leave marks on the wall as shown in FIG. 4. In the preferred embodiment, the catch device 1 is held in place due to friction between it and the surface of the wall 200 and furniture 100.
  • The catch device 1 has two ends and an open top 60, forming a cavity with the two sides and ends allowing the misplaced objects to fall and be caught. The cavity can have soft material lining it including the bottom to prevent any fallen item from being damaged.
  • The catch device 1 has a handle 40 on each of the ends. The handles 40 will extend straight out from the ends of the catch device 1. The end of the handles, in the preferred embodiment, have rubber nubs 50 covering them. This will gripping the handles as well as preventing the handle from damaging any surfaces.
  • The catch device 1 can be pulled out by the handle 40 to check for any fallen items. The length of the catch device 1 can vary depending on the need.
  • The catch device 1 can be used behind dressers, beds, couches, cabinets, desks, refrigerators and in any spaces between furniture pieces. The catch device 1 can have be multiple sizes such as wide and narrow. The catch device 1 can be any color such as neutral, white, black and 3 wood tones.
  • The handles 40 can be used to pull the catch device 1 pull it in and out for cleaning or to reset the catch device 1 higher or lower in the desired location.
  • The catch device 1 is positioned so that items will only drop down about one and a half inches to catch whatever falls in the preferred embodiment.
  • Advantages
  • The current invention is convenient as it is easily moved and positioned to catch falling objects. It is discreet and can be placed anywhere behind furniture to remain hidden and is small enough to go unnoticed. It saves time as there is no need to move furniture to find what has fallen behind.
  • Although the present invention has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred versions thereof, other versions are possible. Therefore, the point and scope of the appended claims should not be limited to the description of the preferred versions contained herein.
  • As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided. With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
