- The disclosure and prior art relates to purse devices and more particularly pertains to a new purse device for inhibiting theft.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a purse that is comprised of an electrically conductive material. A trigger is releasably coupled to the purse and the trigger is attached to a user. Thus, the trigger is triggered when the purse is forcibly removed from the user. A shocking unit is integrated into the purse and the shocking unit is electrically coupled to the trigger. The shocking unit is turned on when the trigger is triggered to deliver an electric shock to a thief who has forcibly removed the purse from the user.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of an antitheft purse assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view taken along line 4-4 ofFIG. 3 of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a schematic view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new purse device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , theantitheft purse assembly 10 generally comprises apurse 12 that has anouter wall 14 and anopening 16 extending through theouter wall 14 to access an interior of thepurse 12. The opening 16 has a boundingedge 18 and theouter wall 14 is comprised of an electrically conductive material. Theouter wall 14 may be infused with a metallic mesh or theouter wall 14 itself may have electrically conductive properties. Theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12 may be structured in any ornamental manner and thepurse 12 may have any conventional design with respect to designer purses, utility purses and any other type ofpurse 12. Amating unit 20 is attached to the boundingedge 18 of the opening 16 and themating unit 20 selectively opens and closes the opening 16. Themating unit 20 may be a zipper or other mechanical fastener. - A
trigger 22 is provided and thetrigger 22 is releasably coupled to thepurse 12. Additionally, thetrigger 22 is attached to a user such that thetrigger 22 is triggered when thepurse 12 is forcibly removed from the user. Thetrigger 22 comprises aswitch 24 that is coupled to theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12. Theswitch 24 may be anelectronic switch 24 of any conventional design, including but not being limited to, single throw mechanical switches or solid state switches. - The
trigger 22 includes alanyard 26 that is coupled to theswitch 24 and thelanyard 26 is secured to the user. Thelanyard 26 turns theswitch 24 on when thelanyard 26 is urged away from thepurse 12. Additionally, thelanyard 26 may form a closed loop for receiving the user's wrist. Thelanyard 26 may additionally be secured to the user with a buckle or other mechanical fastener. - A
shocking unit 28 is provided and theshocking unit 28 is integrated into thepurse 12. Theshocking unit 28 is electrically coupled to thetrigger 22 and theshocking unit 28 is turned on when thetrigger 22 is triggered. Thus, theshocking unit 28 may deliver an electric shock to a thief who has forcibly removed thepurse 12 from the user. Theshocking unit 28 comprises aconductor 30 that is positioned within theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12 such that theconductor 30 is in electrical communication with theouter wall 14. Theconductor 30 is positioned to form a plurality ofloops 32 in theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12 to increase electrical communication between theconductor 30 and theouter wall 14. Theconductor 30 is electrically coupled to theswitch 24 and theconductor 30 may be an un-insulated electrical wire or the like. - A
power supply 34 is positioned within theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12 and thepower supply 34 is electrically coupled to theswitch 24. Moreover, thepower supply 34 is in electrical communication with theconductor 30 when theswitch 24 is turned on. Thus, theswitch 24 completes a circuit between theconductor 30 and thepower supply 34 to deliver the electric shock to the thief. Thepower supply 34 may include at least onebattery 36, atransformer 38 and acapacitor 40. The at least onebattery 36 may have an operational voltage ranging between approximately 9.0 VDC and 24.0 VDC, thetransformer 38 may have an output ranging between approximately 20,000.0 VDC and 150,000.0 VDC, and thecapacitor 40 may have a storage capacity ranging between approximately 20,000.0 VDC and 150,000.0 VDC. - In use, objects are positioned in the
purse 12 and thelanyard 26 is secured to the user while thepurse 12 is being carried. Thelanyard 26 turns theswitch 24 on when theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12 is grabbed and thepurse 12 is urged away from the user by the thief. Thus, theconductor 30 is placed in electrical communication with thepower supply 34 and theouter wall 14 of thepurse 12 delivers the electrical shock to the thief. - The electrical shock will cause the thief to drop the
purse 12 or otherwise let go of thepurse 12 thereby enabling the user to retrieve thepurse 12. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
